"My husband and I chose Avalon Village because it's close to family. It's small, and we just like the feel of it. The staff is very professional, friendly, and helpful. Right now, they are in the process of upgrading everything. It's about half the price of what we were paying and it's almost as twice as big as what we have. I would recommend this facility. "

"I visited Tanglewood Trace. They had a lot of opportunities for their residents. They had an individual patio, so they could walk outside. It was a nice place. I went to look at the independent living. They also have assisted living in a different wing. They have a walking club. They have activities, and they do bingo. They have something going on every day. There are a lot of things you can choose from to do. The rooms have a stove and refrigerator. The staff that gave the tour was very friendly and informative. She took me around and showed me everything. I saw the apartments. There were some activities that the residents could participate in. There's also an atrium area."

"Greencroft Goshen is a fairly large complex with verything from independent living to nursing care. We also have assisted living and health care. I have been living here quite some time and it has been tolerable. Its an OK place to live. There's a community center and there are physical activities. We don't have swimming on campus, but we have a lifelong learning situation along with the nearby university, so we have classes in many different things in health, energy, and for fun. We recently had a series called Festival of Carols, which we have from Thanksgiving into Christmas. The food is pretty good, but some of it is government food programs, which are not very good but are fairly flavorful, tolerable, and reasonably healthy."

"I live in Juniper Place. It is part of the Greencroft Retirement. I have lived here for three to four years now. They have been very clear and very effective. They provided what they said they would. With the pandemic, they have been making adjustments. Many are so that you can't hold them responsible one way or the other. I like the food, and I like the service. They have a variety of activities. They haven't been doing those during the pandemic for obvious reasons, but I have seen them do different card games. They have somebody cleaning all the time. They have somebody mowing the grass when it needs to be mowed. If you have a problem with a bathroom stopped up, they are there within a half a day. Value for money is excellent."

"I toured Waterford Crossing. The difference with them is that you buy a duplex, and when you leave, you sell it. Whereas the others, you kind of buy in, but you don't get your money back if you have to move, so that's a big difference. It was more out in the country. Everything seemed nice, friendly, and clean. The staff who toured me around was very nice. It was more like a little village with little houses and stuff that you bought into. It's like a little community and everybody has yards and stuff."

"My mother is in Hubbard Hill Retirement Center (Hubbard Hill Estates) for two years now. The apartments are quite nice, and they are not affiliated to a big corporation; that is attractive to us because sometimes corporate facilities tend to change hands. The price is also reasonable. She has an apartment in the assisted living. All of her meals are provided and her medications. We are very pleased with the staff. They seem to be very caring and very attentive, and anytime they change no matter how minor it is with her meds, we are always notified. My mom doesn't participate in the activities, but they make efforts to have her involved, but other than going to her meals and eating with people, she doesn't participate. "

"Primrose was an excellent-looking place. They had so many different things to do. It's a brand-new place, I realize that, but there was just a handful of people who lived there. I stayed overnight because they wanted me to have an experience there. I really liked the place, and it had activities going on, but everybody seemed to retire to their bedrooms at 7:00. I was there alone in the activity rooms with nothing to do. I suppose I could have done some things, but the exercise rooms were empty with all these machines. They even had a little pub place where you could play pool and ice cream parlor, but it was just me there. The staff there was very nice and really wanted me to stay and gave me options there. I'd like to try it out in a few years when there's a lot more people there. Their dining room was nice, but there were hardly any people, and I didn't like the food. They can improve on it because the food really needs something. "

"I'm going to move into Whispering Pines. It seemed great. It's not spacious, but it's going to have amenities for my husband. I have to move where he can get to the bottom floor because he is wheelchair bound, but I'm not that enthused because the rooms and the bedrooms are not large enough for me. The staff was very nice."

"I didn’t tour Village at Arborwood, but I spoke to somebody when I went there to pick up some information. The lobby area looked very inviting and very new, and it was three stories. This one was more ala-carte so you pay a room price, and then anything additional was optional like the meals, the laundry, and the cleaning. You can bring your car, but they had a shuttle to places. The staff was really nice. I also talked to a staff member on the phone a couple of times, and she was very nice and very helpful. My aunt wants to be as independent as she can be, so I think she would like the Village because you could cook your own meals, but if you wanted to purchase a meal, you could do that too. "

"My father currently resides in a Grace Village apartment, after living in the Robin Hood condos. Can't say enough good comments about the various tiers of assistance, the staff and the support for seniors. Dad enjoys the meals. My mom received loving care in her final days in healthcare. Very pleased!"

"I've been living in William C Ellison Apartments for almost 2 years and I like it because it's a building for seniors. The staff is good, we have just the manager and 2 other people including the coordinator. I'm in a 1-bedroom apartment, I furnished it myself, and it's got a refrigerator and a stove. There is a lot of different stuff in the building like the library, but I don't go in there. It's an independent living and they offer meals if you want them. They give us a lot of stuff. The coordinator makes a lot of things happen like we have church services coming in and a lot of other things going on. We just got a new manager; she's only been here for 2 months but she's good at doing her job. Our coordinator has been here for 10 or 11 years. She's a long-time coordinator in this place and she's good."
