My aunt is at The Village at Kendallville. She seems pretty happy there. She is in nursing home care now because she needs care. Everything seems fine. She can't hear, so the only issue I have is that they won't make her put her hearing aids in. She doesn't want to wear them, but she should. The nurses answered my questions. If I had a question about how she was doing, they let me know. I could tell that they liked her. She's a character and a talker, but I could just tell they get along okay. She is really happy with the care she's getting. No complaints. She is the type who if she didn't like something, would tell you. However, she did not like the doctor who works there. My sister and I ate lunch with her, and the food was fine. You have a choice of a salad or a sandwich. They have meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and fruits, too. She likes grapefruit, so they give her a small dish of grapefruit. If there's something particular that she likes, they would give it to her. The portions are generous.

We chose here for my mother because they have an Alzheimer's care unit and they also have been ranked in the US News and World Report on long-term care facilities. The room and their dining room were very nice. What I like most is their quality of care.
