"I went to Heritage Park. It was clean. They had a lot of activities for the residents. I have a friend whose husband is there now, and she is having some problems with clothing disappearing. The staff was less helpful, and I wasn't impressed with the food."

"The people at Arbor Glen seem a little more friendly. We met some real nice staff. The dining room is laid out very nice, and we liked it. Although maybe they could have a system to remind people it's meal time. But it's very nice. I would have lived there myself. "

"Georgetown Apartments was a very nice place. You have to be totally capable of doing everything. They provide meals, recreation, and a room and help in keeping it clean. It's totally senior help. I only met one person there, and she's very friendly and knowledgeable. I have friends living there. It fits their needs and they love it. It's very good. "

"I really liked this place and I'd definitely consider it. But it is not on right side of town for me. staff were nice and knowledgeable. "

"My friend is in the Golden Years Homestead. I have talked to some residents. There are a couple that I have known for several years, who just moved their homes in the last few months. The outside is definitely a five. It's very, very nice with lots of trees around it. It has nice shade as well. It's one of those places that you look at and you say, oh, just relax and enjoy. The people I know there have said they haven't found a place more friendly than it, and the staff is great. They were very pleased that they found the place. The activities were much more to their liking, and they enjoyed them. They were well pleased. I can only say that they're very clean, and they have excellent cleaning staff. They didn't have anything bad at all to say about them. I found the staff to be very helpful and always see them with a smile on their face. When you ask them a question, they know the answer. They are very helpful, very engaging, and very honest."

"Coventry Meadows is very nice. They are adjoined homes but it is as if you have your own home. They have a full kitchen, two bedrooms and a one-car garage. The staff is very nice and very knowledgeable. They had nothing going on at the time, but the place is very well run. They have a library and a bulletin board full of activities."

"I'm going to Quail Ridge Villas. I went there last year, and I was there again today. I liked the complete setup; it's very new and very nicely decorated. They have a lot of amenities. I can use the swimming pool and recreation equipment, I can have my own garden, and it's the kind of community where I like to be. It's out in the country and it's what I'm used to, and that's very important to me. They have different kinds of living arrangements, all independent. Some of them are villas and some are separate, two-bedroom apartments with an attached garage. They have a high-rise, senior-living complex, they have two-to-three-bedroom homes that you can rent, and it's all laid out in a beautiful place."

"The resident rooms are spacious, very nice wall & carpet colors. The whole facility is well maintained, new & tastefully decorated for a comfortable environment. The staff are qualified, friendly & helpful. Residents have art class & bingo, church services & other games, more activities are coming & monthly fun themes that are celebrated. The residents are well cared for, hospice is allowed, it is a safe serene environment. My dad received hospice care thru a separate organization that came in. Caregivers are very compassionate & knowledgeable. The Director helps with any concerns we have & resolves them."

"My brother is currently staying at Ascension Living Sacred Heart Village, and they have been wonderful. Even down to the level of bringing ice water to you, just personal services. It's the best thing I can tell you, as I told my brother, the best thing that I liked about it is when I pulled into the driveway of that facility, I had a calm come over me. He can go outside at this facility. The staff is wonderful, from the doctors to the nurse practitioner, the social worker, the admissions. Everybody has just been great down to the maintenance workers and the chaplain. To get his TV mounted, they did it in less than 24 hours. They helped me move him in. The only downfall that we've come across so far, has been the floors; but they can't control the weather. It's an older building, and the floors, the humidity there is astronomical right now with heat indexes into the hundreds. The floors are slippery because of that. That's the only thing, but they're trying to address it. They're trying to put down safety strips, but they won't connect. They won't stay on the floor because of the moisture, the humidity. That would be the only thing, but that's going to be hard to do unless they tear the building down and completely rebuild. One other positive thing about Sacred Heart Village, is that I was informed that Medicaid pays a set amount of dollars to a nursing home and it's up to that facility as to how they spend that Medicaid money. As of right now, there is only one other patient ahead of my brother that is looking to go into a private room. As soon as one is available, they can move him into a private room."

"I visited Smith Farms Manor, and I was very impressed by the facilities, the all the services that they provided, and the variety of people who could stay there -- people who needed 24/7 and those who just occasionally needed care. "

"We were very pleased with Betz Senior Villas. It's a little on the small side as to what I expected. The price is reasonable, and it's a nice, quiet little community. It's rather small, the whole community. They're duplexes with garages. The dining area, kitchen, and living room are kind of one long room, with kitchen being at the one far end and living room at the entry. It could be furnished, you can enlarge the living room or enlarge the dining area, whichever is preferred. It's a relatively small area, but it's doable. We definitely want to downsize from where we're at anyway. There's no food provided; this is totally independent living for me. The staff who gave me the tour, she was very pleasant. There's a walking path that goes into a wooded area, and there's a small pond with a gazebo and a nice, cemented walking path that leads into that area. There was no staff for care or for serving food. It's just the staff would be doing the maintenance outdoors and indoors, and the woman who gave us a tour."

"My grandmother has always been a very independent person. As she required more care, the decision was very easy. There is no other place we would rather have her be. She has all of the help and support she needs, and gets to maintain the level of independence that has always been so important to her. The staff are so caring and always willing to help. She only wishes now she hadn't waited so long to make the move to Assisted Living. "
