"The apartment they showed me at River Terrace Retirement Community was a very nice one. The kitchen was not very big but then I didn't need that big of a kitchen. It had one bedroom, a walk-in shower, and a bathroom. The living room and the bedroom were both a nice size. I didn't talk to many of the staff, but the manager was very nice and very helpful. The housekeeper was running around there doing things, and there was a young man that I'm assuming was part of maintenance. The place looked like it was in great condition and was being cared for."

"Vancrest Assisted Living is a nursing home I am very familiar with. I have a family member who is a resident here and my family and I visit her often. Their grounds and facilities are very well kept. The inside is spacious and has personal rooms, a cafeteria, and many rooms for activities. There are several open areas for games or visiting, a chapel room, and other rooms for meeting, watching communal television and other visiting type activities. The nurses who work at Vancrest are extremely skilled at their jobs. They meet every resident with a smile and are always around to help with anything one could need. My grandmother has met many friends here and been able to enjoy a social life even while being sometimes bedridden. Vancrest often has people from the community come out. Children from the elementary, middle, and high school, people from salons, restaurants, stores and other respected spots come to Vancrest . My family and I have always been very happy with all the service we have received from Vacrest Assisted Living. "

"I like Lutheran Life Villages, but at the time I visited, they couldn't accept my grandmother. What I like most about this community is that they seemed really into the residents. The setup seemed really good. My grandmother would have really liked it. The atmosphere in the assisted living's dining room was gorgeous. The rooms were really nice. Also, they said they take bus trips to different places. "

"I would highly recommend The Village at Anthony Boulevard - Fort Wayne, IN. They were very organized. The food was very good. It was very clean. The employees were very helpful. They have a chapel there, if you want to attend church. They have a library. They have occupational therapy. They do a lot of crafts with the patients. I know some of the residents who are living there. When I spoke to them about it, they were happy being there. There's a lot of socialization. They're a very social group. They really enjoy their time there. Everything seemed very positive. As we walked through the hallways, everything was kept nice and neat. There was no smell. Everything seemed to be clean. The rooms were clean, too."

"She checked into Genesis Healthcare last April because of recurring urinary tract infections. The place was exceptionally clean and they gave her a special room because of her dialysis equipment. Overall, they were very good but training is needed by some of the staff for her dialysis. "

"The Alzheimer's Unit (Memory Care Unit) is excellent. Spacious rooms, nice dining area. The nurses, CNAs, and all of the staff at this facility are absolutely wonderful. My mother has been there just two weeks, and while the transition from the hospital was difficult, the staff was so helpful and supportive. My mother is iroving and actually participating in her treatment. The physical therapy room is the best of all 12 of the facilities I visited that take Alzheimer's patients in Fort Wayne, In. We are very happy to have chosen this place. "

"We found Byron Health Center for my sister. We chose them because they cater more with the issues she has, which are mental issues. The staff seems to be nice and friendly. The facilities are very old, but very clean. I know she goes to group therapies. "

"I'm very happy with it. They have an excellent activity director who keeps them as busy as she possibly can. My sister-in-law's studio is very nice and spacious enough for her. Their menu is pretty varied, and they have two menus that they can choose from -- one for specials for each meal and a restaurant-type menu with other things they can choose from if they don't like what the daily menu is -- so they have a lot of choices. The food is good, and they try to accommodate what everybody wants. One of the main things I like is that they can transition from assisted living, to memory care, to nursing home, more or less in the same building, so they have all three in the same area. "

"We were looking for a nursing home for my father-in-law and we found Saint Anne Home. It turned out that it's the only facility that could accommodate his health needs and had openings available. He finally got in and he's living there now and adjusted real well. It's a really nice place. The staff are really kind and helpful. He's been there since January but he was in the hospital most of the time. He's enjoying himself and he's getting proper care. His health improved and overall they're doing a good job. They handle his medication and everything and he's doing real well. They have activities available for the residents like live musical entertainment. There are also different church services available. They have puzzles and I saw one of the nurses do the patient's nails. "
