"I believe that this place is one of the best in the state. They have a lot of very appealing amenities that a lot of other places do not offer. This place really makes it into a different community from the town that it is located in. This place has it's own gift shop, barber, salon, and restaurant where the residents family's can come eat with them. This location also has every kind of retirement option. This is a place for people to live in a house, apartment, or assisted living. This location is also very large. There are 3 large ponds that have walking paths around and if the residents are not able to go outside for health reasons, also have large windows to see the ponds from the inside. The inside also has a large aquarium as well as an aviary with very lively birds. Just to reiterate, I do think that this is one of the top retirement communities in the state, maybe even the country. "

"Vancrest Assisted Living is a nursing home I am very familiar with. I have a family member who is a resident here and my family and I visit her often. Their grounds and facilities are very well kept. The inside is spacious and has personal rooms, a cafeteria, and many rooms for activities. There are several open areas for games or visiting, a chapel room, and other rooms for meeting, watching communal television and other visiting type activities. The nurses who work at Vancrest are extremely skilled at their jobs. They meet every resident with a smile and are always around to help with anything one could need. My grandmother has met many friends here and been able to enjoy a social life even while being sometimes bedridden. Vancrest often has people from the community come out. Children from the elementary, middle, and high school, people from salons, restaurants, stores and other respected spots come to Vancrest . My family and I have always been very happy with all the service we have received from Vacrest Assisted Living. "

"The staff was never friendly. The facilities were in okay condition but could have been much cleaner. The nurses never gave the required attention to any of the patients that I knew personally. It was their chief complaint. The cares and concerns were not addressed by any of the staff there. This was a facility chosen primarily because of the location. We live in a small community and our choices are limited as to where an elderly loved one should stay. The visiting hours were irregular, and the communal areas were shabby and depressing. Not only that, they were very small as well, and there was usually no staff watching over any of the residents. There were never any group activities that my family members cared to participate in. The group activities were far and few between, and there were times when the staff, nurses included, had no idea where my family members were. "

"Years ago, I promised my parents that I would never place them in a nursing home. I was adopted and felt in my heart that they had made the choice to take care of me, so, I would do the same for them. Mom passed away a few years ago from cancer and with the help of hospice we were able to let her pass away at home. Dad was another story, it came to the point where we could no longer safely provide the care he needed. Persimmon Ridge helped make this sad time as easy as possible for me. The staff in this building from top to bottom are angels and I could never thank them enough for the great care they gave my dad, and the emotional support that they provided me."

"My grandfather was a resident at Woodcrest for nearly two years. During that time he experienced diabetic complications and had both legs amputated. After each operation he returned to undergo rehabilitation at the facility. He loved the staff and made friends with other residents. I always found the facility to be clean and cheerful. Several times I volunteered to work bingo games during afternoon activity period. The social director was very dedicated and I believe worked very hard to provide interesting activities. Overall, I believe my grandfather received excellent care and medical treatment. When he was in his last days, the staff was very understanding of our feelings and allowed us leeway in visitations. "

"My mother-in-law is in Sarah Jane Living Center. They’re great. I think it’s wonderful -- the facility, the management, and the staff. It’s great. Her room has a bed and a chester drawer. We have a TV in it. It is clean, and it is kept nice. There is a fan to keep her cool if she gets warm. It’s a nice facility. We have no problems at this point. I know they give her 3 meals a day, and she eats it all and likes it. They have yahtzee and horseshoe activities. "

"We thought the staff was very good to the patients. the facility was maintained well, clean. they had excellent caregivers for my mother in law, she liked them very much. The meals were prepared well, the doctor visited her daily, the facility was very good about her rehabilitation on a daily basis. they were very considerate to her personal needs and her personal likes and dislikes. when we visited they were very accomodating to the families. They took care of all the necessary insurance paperwork. They appeared very focused on her care and well being. A very nurturing environment. We were very thankful to have had them so close to our parents home there in Delphos Ohio. My mother in law enjoyed their company, the accommodations, the care she received, she said the food was good, she said she felt like she was very comfortable, rested well. We would definitely choose them again if we needed to. "

"In July 2013 my mother was placed here because she had COPD and nothing more hospital in Lima could do for her. She had to have oxygen. Hospital said they would give her less than a week to live. They told the nursing home to give mom just 2 liters of oxygen and if they did she would of died. Nursing home gave her what she needed to stay alive. Each week shes needed more and more oxygen. She was up to 20 liters before she died Sept. 2013 with full mask on 24hrs aday. I am so grateful that this nursing home gave mom more time to live to be with us. They go above and beyond and I would trust this nursing home. They treated mom sooo good and us. "

"The staff is extremely helpful. They're always helping my grandmother with things that isn't part of their job. SHe really likes the physical therapist that comes to work with her. While she won't go down to the dining room to eat, they allow us (the family members) to go down to the kitchen to get her supplies like bread and milk. The staff is always friendly to us as well. The rooms are very nice with lovely views. Wonderful facility. "

"I liked that The Springs of Lima gave their people dignity. The rooms were nice and everything about it was clean and professional. It was pretty good. The people were caring. My friend liked the food. It was not an issue for her. She loved it, so they had really good food. They also had a gym, a salon, and lots of group activities."

"I would only use this facility if its a last resort. The smell is terrible and housekeeping is nothing to be proud of. The administration is impossible to reason with. Nursing staff is above average and most aids but several should not be in that position "

"My friend is very happy with Lochhaven Assisted Living Apartments. She went in there last month. She has a one-bedroom on the second floor. The apartment is very nice. There are floors to the facility. The staff is excellent. She’s 92 years old and happy as a lark. She’s happy with the food and goes down for her dinner. She has a lot of friends who visit with her and she’s adapting really well. "
