"Golden Living Center is clean. The staff knew what they were doing, and is much more friendly. They would all say hi and come and shake our hands when I was there with my sister, brother, and my husband. They have activities for the residents. There are four people in a room but it was big enough. Each person had their own personal space and they have their personal memorabilia that they would able to place around. I thought that was nice. My father was there for a short time maybe a week or two. Then he got bedsores and he was brought back in the hospital. And because of that, I didn't want him to go back here. "

"My Aunt is at Pinehurst, which is a nursing home that is located in Centerville IN. Pinehurst isn't a bad place; they take good care of my Aunt; however it feels more like a hospital than a home. When you walk in you walk down a hallway with no color or anything that would attract a person's attention. It even smells like a hospital. I don't ever see them do any games or "fun time". I have had dinner with my aunt a few times and the food isn't the best. There isn't a big verity of food to choose from. Again it seems that the people who live there are more like in a hospital than a facility in which they live. But like I said they do provide and take great care of all the people that live there and I guess in the end that is what matters. "

"My mother is at Vancrest Health Care Center. I'm not crazy about it, but she chose to go there because her old friends are there. The facility seems understaffed. The food is not good, and that's a complaint she has had since day one. Her apartment is quite nice, and the wing that she's on is fairly new. Some staff members are quite nice, but I'm not overly impressed, and it costs more. The assisted living side is nice, and the apartments are nice. It's kept clean and it's fine. It's okay. "

"The first impression of this Resident home was How small it was. The rooms were smaller than the room I had as a teen at my parents house. The facility is clean and expresses a friendly environment. I also noticed that everytime I visited it seemed as though they were understaffed. Never enough employees there to provide a safe level of care. Patients ranged from Semi-independent to completely dependant. Some of the residents had dirty fingernails and messy hair, but others seemed very well groomed. My biggest fear was that the administrator seemed to have no idea how to make the place function properly. I actually filed a complaint because I noticed how he mistreated the staff and even a few residents. Most of the nurses and CNA's seemed to be knowledgeable and skilled, but also seemed burnt out and frustrated. I don't believe I would choose to allow a family member to reside there. "

"We visited The Greenbriar because of the residents that they have and the types of program that they offer. The facility itself was very clean. It had no odor and, to me, that was important. Their rooms were average. Their dining area seemed very nice-looking. "

"Caroleton Manor was where my mother-in-law was in her final days, and that wasn't near as nice. She went into assisted living and then she got to where she had dementia. She was in a 4-bedroom room and there was one chair and they had her sitting in it, so there wasn't any place. We didn't see any activity because she just sat in a chair, mummified. She would bite and kick people. She was mean, so they had to keep her sedated, but that was for her own good as well. I can't complain about the way the facility took care of her because I never saw them being mean to her. They said you could take her out of her room and move her down the hall to an open area, but they always had TV so loud you couldn't hear so we didn't bother trying to maneuver her down the hallway. The staff was all nice when we there. The security was fine. They didn't have an eat-in cafeteria, restaurant or dining room. They had Meals on Wheels delivered once a day. "

"The care that Majestic Care (Lincoln Center) for my husband is good. His room is always clean, and the bed is always made. From what I have seen, the food seems good. He doesn't participate in the activities much, but they try to get him to do cornhole in his chair and read him crosswords and stuff to try and get him to answer. So far I like it the best of any of the senior communities. They have an outside facility where they can plant things, and go out there in the summertime. I think they are very caring and do a great job."

"I have been visitting my Dad like crazy since my family moved me back to Greenville. It was the one thing they could do for me that really makes me happy! In being there so much I can tell you there have been maybe three thing in the last 8 months, mostly minor things. And when I let the staff know about something it gets corrected right away. And the staff on 55th floor have been amazing! I could say name of all the staff that I think are above exceptional, but then I would have to name all of them! If you want your parent with an interactive staff and people that love working with your parents then you should definetly cobsidder the Brotheren Retirement community in Greenville, Ohio!"
