"I toured Astral at Auburn. The personnel were very nice. They were very outgoing. I was very impressed with the facilities. It's the place where I want to live. The rooms were extremely nice. I was very impressed. It's very spacious. They have all sorts of activities. They have sing-a-long. They get a reading room, a library, and a beauty shop where they get their haircuts. They're right down the road from my doctor, and that's one of the things that I'm looking for."

"I toured in person. It was very good. I was very impressed with the assisted living. It was very clean and very homey. I talked to a few of the residents, and they all like it there. It was very clean and very nice. The staff showed me a one-bedroom and then she showed me a two-bedroom. They're very, very nice rooms. They had little kitchenettes and the bathrooms of course. It was a very nice facility."

"The resident rooms are spacious, very nice wall & carpet colors. The whole facility is well maintained, new & tastefully decorated for a comfortable environment. The staff are qualified, friendly & helpful. Residents have art class & bingo, church services & other games, more activities are coming & monthly fun themes that are celebrated. The residents are well cared for, hospice is allowed, it is a safe serene environment. My dad received hospice care thru a separate organization that came in. Caregivers are very compassionate & knowledgeable. The Director helps with any concerns we have & resolves them."

"I have had problems with Parkview in the past. Generally I think they stack their bills, hire too few doctors, and don't really care about their patients. The office staff and doctors have never been anything short of rude almost EVERY time I go in to one of their facilities. However, when my dad went to The Oaks for hospice from a terminal case of pancreatic cancer, they were nothing short of SPECTACULAR. We never had a single problem with any one who had worked there and they all really got to know my dad. It was not easy watching my dad starve to death, but they were not only there to take care of him, they took care of us too. Knew us by name, called when it seemed like it was his time. They consistantly offered an open ear and reasonable solutions. Now that he's passed and we've had a little bit of time to think about it, I would highly reccommend the Oaks to someone else. The only good thing I would say about Parkview. "

"The staff who gave me the tour of Coventry Meadows was very attentive and listened to my needs. She showed me one of the model apartments and it looked very nice. It had a living room, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a bedroom. It seemed this facility offered all the amenities that we would need. They had transportation to doctor's appointments, and I saw a dining room."

"I moved into Silver Birch at Cook Road. It's very nice, and the apartment is very large. They're very friendly, attentive, and they seem to be organized. They have exercise, bingo, cards, crafts, and billiards. The dining area is very clean, and the food is good."

"My mom liked Coventry Meadows Assisted Living and Garden Homes. It was a smaller community and it had nice grounds. They had a lot of the same type of amenities like movie night set up in the theater with popcorn machines and different activities. It appeared to be very clean and well-kept. They had set times for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. So, you had to fall into their schedule as far as your meals were concerned. They had studio apartments. They all had a microwave and a hotel-style refrigerator in them. The staff that was taking us around on the tour was very polite and very knowledgeable. I saw a couple of other staff members in the hallways as we were taking our tours and they were polite. They acknowledged us and said hello to us."

"Dad moved to Hamilton Place. It is a good place. They've been very patient and helpful, and I think I made the right choice going with them. The staff has been excellent, caring, and supportive. Dad's room is a good size, a tiny bit dated, but overall it was a good fit for him. The facility is nice and clean and smelled good. I am very happy with it. There are lots of activities going on. They take people on excursions and shopping every week. They also have bingo, games, puzzles, and different exercise classes. The dining area is restaurant-style dining. The whole place is very family oriented."

"My friend is at Lake City Place right now. My sister looked at it, and to me it sounded like a good and nice place. I think the staff is doing a good job, they are very friendly, and knowledgeable. The food is excellent. He likes it. I've not been there actually, and I just had a virtual tour with them, but my sister is taking care of the rest. Overall, I think it's a very fine place."

"I live in the independent living at Peabody Retirement Community. I like it very much. The people I live with around are very nice. The community itself is very nice/well taken care of. I would like to find some other community that maybe doesn't cost quite as much, and is maybe closer to the rest of my family. Fort Wayne would be better. I have a duplex. It's a two-bedroom with full kitchen. I would say it's about a thousand square feet, with a garage. The staff is very nice. I don't take advantage of the food very often because I have my own kitchen. Especially now with the pandemic, the independents don't mix in with the regular building. We don't go into the dining room anymore. The food is very good. I just don't take advantage of it very often. It's a beautiful facility, it's full service, and a continuum location. In other words, I am independent out here, but they offer the full services if I need to go inside for assisted living or healthcare. It's all here. They have buses to take us to meals and takeout food shops. They have a bingo or artwork, all kinds of things going on during the normal week, but of course, not now."

"My mother-in-law is in Miller's Senior Living Community. It has a cafeteria-style billing where it has a lower rate to begin with, and then the more assistance you need, the more you pay. They have free transportation on particular days of the week to and from doctor's visits. They have outings that they do to local shopping. They have activities and church services. They need to have increased staffing and a less expensive fee for assisted services."

"BrightStar Senior Living of Fort Wayne was a really nice place, but it's just starting up. They only had four residents when I visited and we were unsure whether my dad would enjoy that since there won't be a lot of interactions with people. The rooms were really nice, though they probably could have been larger. They have an enclosed patio with an open patio on the second floor directly above it, so they have an open area within the building. They also have a sidewalk within the area so you can be outdoors. The dining area was nice and very bright because it's right next to the patio. Maybe it's a bit small, but from the size of the building, it's very adequate. They had a nice sitting area and a game room. They were playing some kind of game while we were there. There weren't many people to start with, but it looks like they have things to keep them busy. It seems like they've only been open for two to three months."

"I toured the Life Care Center of Fort Wayne. They offered activities for the residents. The staff were friendly and seemed to be caring for the residents. The facility was clean, and they had good security. However, it wasn't up to my standards. They could improve a little bit on everything."
