The independent living community of Watermere at Firewheel was very clean and brand new. It was also probably the least expensive of all of them right now, because they said they're trying to attract people. They had spacious rooms, too, but the ones shown to me were facing George Bush Highway or tollway, and while it wasn't exactly noisy, it was distracting, and I didn't really like that. The sizes were nice, but I wasn't sure I liked the location, although I may go back in and look again. They have a lot of amenities. They had breakfast every day, which almost all of the communities had. They had lunch, too, and then if you wanted dinner, I think you had to pay extra. You were given $75 per month to apply for a dinner, and the dinners were like $7 a person, so with that through the month, you could eat about 10 times a night. They had a lot of rooms for things to happen, like card games and activities. They had a lot of good spaces built in that you could do various things in. They had a lot of amenities, and I liked that about it. You could just about find any kind of card game or anything you wanted to play. They were independent living and didn't do anything beyond that. The people there were really friendly and said they had good food. The staff was also very nice and very friendly.

I will move into Watermere at Firewheel. It has an indoor hot tub and a pickleball. I have two bedrooms, two bathrooms, one with a shower, one with a tub, and a patio, so all that was on my checklist. The staff was very thorough. We toured several units and considered the pros and cons. I got invited back to what was called casino night. They had an activity, and I went back for that. I made my decision once I took my second tour. On my first tour, I had lunch, and on the second tour was a casino night, so they had all kinds of food that night. It was good. Everything is new. It's modern and clean.
