Grand Brook Memory Care of Garland

My husband moved to Grand Brook Memory Care of Garland, and I'm really pleased with them. I knew them from before, with my first husband many years ago, and they've made many changes since then, all of which are good. The reason I like it is that the residents are up and out of their bedrooms every day and have activities to participate in. They can just rest if they want to, but they're up and out, and they have things planned. I think they start their day with a walk and end with a movie at night. There are also various things in between entertainment and activities. The place is very secure. Most people there have Advanced-stage Alzheimer�s, so it's securely locked and protected. No one can go in without the staff knowing it because they have to let you in. Their individual bedroom doors lock automatically, and they're never locked from the inside. You can always get out, but you can't get in without a key, which is very nice because in a lot of these institutions, people wander. They could wander into other people's bedrooms and pick up whatever they want to, and this sort of thing, and I don't like that, so I'm really pleased here. They have a good chef, and all of their staff are trained in handling memory care patients. They do not have a broad mix of training, but they're all very good. The nurses have an incredible supply of patience, so I recommend it.

I toured the Grand Brook Memory Care of Garland for my sister, and I had a good impression of it. The rooms were spacious, and I liked the setup. The way that it was designed was nice. The most impressive part was the staff. It's mostly because they were responsive, and they were very personable with the residents and with me. They have lots of activities, but I didn't focus on how many. They did tell me all of the different activities they have. I could see they have good communication with the residents. One example is that they had lots of signage so residents could see locations. The place seemed to be much different from other facilities in terms of how they're set up and how they understand their clients' needs.

I already got my wife in Grand Brook Memory Care of Garland. It has been great. I'm very comfortable with them. They keep her very active, and she is doing very good too. The room and the staff are fantastic. They are doing a really good job, and we're very happy with them. I haven't tried the food, but I get a menu every week. They have exercises, they take them to the library, and they do all kinds of things.

My mom is at Grand Brook Memory Care. It is awesome. They have activities to keep the residents very busy every day. It is a pretty active place. The food is good. My mom seems to like it. They have family parties and the food that they have there is always very good. The nurse and the administrator are great, and the caregivers are awesome. They are very attentive to the residents and they don't leave them alone. They know how to redirect them and they know how to really care for the memory care patients.

Grand Brook Memory Care of Garland is really good with people with Alzheimer's and dementia. They're great and the place is clean and well-run. They do activities all the time like singing and Bingo.

I visited Grand Brook and it looked like a small and homey community. I really liked the backyard, the grounds are beautiful, and you could tell the staff cared for the patients. The residents in the memory care were doing exercises in the common area. I saw a regular apartment, and it was fine.
