"We found the Belaire Health Care Center for my mother. She's only been there a little bit, I guess it's going good, we can't go inside the facility because of the COVID, but we can visit at the window and with a telephone. You just see her in her room, they put her in a wheelchair, roll her to the window, and give her the phone. The staff is so far very nice and helpful. She has a private room, it looks nice, it has a hospital bed, but it has like a headboard and footboard that kind of looked like a home bed and a chair. It's nice. It looks clean, very clean everywhere, even outside. Her Medicare and her supplementary insurance is paying for it up to 100 days, she's in rehabilitation, and if she doesn't show progress she may have to leave and go somewhere else."

"My mother was a resident there for over 5 years and was treated with love and respect during her stay. My siblings and I fell in love with the staff, many of whom are still there. Recently, a dear friend needed rehab for a few weeks and I was fortunate to get him admitted. He received excellent care from the most up to date therapy equipment and staff. His recuperation period was less than expected. I would recommend this facility to anyone and have even asked my family to consider Stanley Total Living Center for myself if I should need extended care. "

"My mother has lived her for two years. After all the nursing homes she has been at in the Gastonia I like this one the best. She has made lots of friends. They have a lot of activities that the residents can be involved in. I am a flight attendant and I don't worry about my Mom while I am gone. I have had some problems with the laundry. They have lost a lot of her clothes and refuse to reimburse me for them. I cannot bring anything too nice for my mother to wear because it will be gone. I can't tell you how many pair of black pants I have bought her that go missing. There is a kitty that lives there name Tiger and he brings life into the place. He makes it warms and inviting. My mom loves him so much. I would recommend this place. They are good to my Mother. I would also like to mention that the staff communicates with me. When something is going on with my Mom they always call me or talk to me while I am there. I have had problems with staff not communicating with me at other places. They also have more employees than other nursing homes. Most nursing home are several understaffed. White Oak seems to have more employees which helps with me feeling like she is taken care of while I am gone. I do know that these employees are severely underpaid and they have to do so much in the care of these people. It is an extremely hard job and they all need a raise. Their job is very important and underappreciated."

"Because of the pandemic, you can't go into Peak Resources Cherryville, but you're allowed on the outside. I've had one conference with the staff. They provide occupational therapy and physical therapy. It's a beautiful facility on the outside, and well laid out. The location is kind of out of the highway, and it's in a maybe rural area. The surroundings look great, it has a lot of land, and lots of spaces. Close by there's a couple of stores, but it's in a secluded area mostly. I've had relatives there before and it's a great facility. I visited before the pandemic and it was a great place. My aunt seems comfortable there and all her needs are being met."

"We really liked Charlotte Healthcare Center. It was very clean, updated, nice, and newer-looking facility. The staff is really friendly. The only issue I had with them was communication. It was difficult to get through to speak to someone when you had a question or concern. Even though my father-in-law had a bracelet on his legs because he has slight dementia, he would go out the door. And even with the door alarm, the staff just couldn't get out quick enough to catch him, and he'd be out on the parking lot. He would want to just leave and go out the door. But the staff is really nice and friendly. He was always very clean and well-kept there. It would be nice if the residents would have an opportunity to be taken outside. He really just wanted to be able to go outside when the weather is nice. He actually thought he was in jail. But I understand there's not enough staff to do that. Also, one of the things that we're not happy about and trying to get change is a lot of his stuff have gotten missing. So we actually had to purchase a lock ourselves for his own cabinet so he won't lose things. "

"This seems to be a wonderfully caring facility. My aunt is happy with the care she is getting. Love this place. Highly recommended!"

"My sister recently had Rehabilitation there. All staff were very caring. Food was very good plenty of activities. Her Physical therapy was excellent "

"My mother came to Cardinal in Lincolnton for rehabilitation after a fall and hip replacement. She has dementia which adds an additional challenge. She had previously been in another rehab in Lincolnton during February and March following back surgery and it was an awful experience so I do have something to compare Cardinal to! The facility is clean, the food was good and the staff is exceptional. Every single interaction with a staff member was great. This staff, from the front desk, the finance office, the case worker and the nursing staff are second to none. My mother was well cared for at all times. I can't tell you how much I appreciated each staff member at Cardinal Rehab in Lincolnton. Thank you for caring for her like she was your own family...we will never forget your compassion and care. I highly recommend Cardinal Rehab in Lincolnton! "

"My friend is in rehab at Mecklenburg Rehab (Mecklenburg Health Care Center). The place is very clean and the people and staff are very friendly and accommodating, not only to visitors but also to residents. The food is pleasing to the eye, well thought out, have a nice variety and is based on what the individual's dietary needs are. My friend is basically working on his mobility, balance and his right hand. They have really worked with him and he has come a long way. They keep the place nice and no odd smells."

"The Carolina Care facility has the same dreary ambiance of every such place I've ever been inside. But it does seem to care about the particulars of its residents. There are activities, plenty of outdoor sitting area. On my visit there was even a playground for residents to be outside with their younger family members. The assisted living apartments are across the street from he actual nursing home facility and look a little cheerier. I think this provides a great set up for older couples in the situation where one can no longer care for the other, yet they don't want to be separated. This was the case with my grandparents' older friends. I do think some of the staff have been at it a little too long in general or were just tired the day we visited. One lady was very good with her patient, but very rude to us and it's part of your job to deal with visitors to the facility, since those visitors are a huge part of the life and morale of the patients. "

"All in all, I would have to say that Boger City Rest home is pretty awesome. We had our doubts at first as we were use to being around my grandmother all of the time, but with the fact that everyone worked and no one was able to move in with her full time to help take care of her, we visited many facilities and Boger City Rest Home gave us the peace of mind of placing her in a living assisted establishment. My mom and dad were very vigilant about visiting often and still are to ensure that proper guidelines were being followed and up until now everything is fine. When I visited, my grandmother seemed very happy, not as happy as she would be as she would be at home, however very happy. I love the fact that she now feels a sense of community and has made very many friends at the Boger City Rest home. It gives my family and I peace of mind knowing that she still has certain freedoms, but has those freedoms with a 24 hour staff that is always there to take care of any situation that may arise. The only negative thing that I have to say, is that this is not a smoke free facility, while no smoking takes place inside, they still allow residents and employees to smoke outside. Overall this has been a very positive experience for my family and I and we would absolutely refer someone to use Boger City Rest home. They have a very friendly and informative staff that always has a smile on their face. I am grateful for them and the level of service they provide for my grandmother. "

"Wellmore of Tega Cay was a beautiful, lively community. People always go out of their rooms. The rooms were impeccable, clean, and well maintained, very new and up-to-date. The gardens are gorgeous and the people are very sweet. The only thing is that the staff is amazing but some of them needs a little more training, especially with the new staff in skilled nursing and physical therapy. Sometimes they forget stuff like my mom can't have sugary stuff, but they gave her a soda."

"I went several times to tour the Huntersville Health & Rehabilitation Center. The only thing is that it was hard to get in touch with their admissions office, so that was a struggle. The facility was really nice. It was spectacular, but I didn't see a whole lot of interacting people. It was really close to the house. I've been there so many times because the facility is absolutely spectacular. It has equipment almost like Gold Gym. I haven't seen as big of a rehab facility on the tours I've been on. There are so many treadmills, bikes, and things that look like they're simulated out of a car. They have this thing that I haven't seen anywhere else. It helps the person to be able to walk on sand at the beach, cobblestone, hardwood floors, and carpeting. It changes surfaces. Their rehab was just unbelievable. In their rooms, there was a glider and a big bed. You would think you're in a master bedroom. When you walked in there, there was a bathroom suite that two rooms share. The rooms are divided up, and they have their own separate doors. It was really nice. They had a library and a movie room. It was just really spectacular. They had an outdoor area that was a big center. It was locked, so that you can walk inside of that area on the outdoors and still be in a locked area in the middle of the building. You don't have to go outside the building. It was like an open area or courtyard. The staff has to actually swipe their card to get you in that courtyard, so I like that concept. The staff who took me around were very helpful. Their dinning area was pretty much a cafeteria style. There were two people at two separate tables eating. Everybody else was in the room eating."

"My husband is a resident of Olde Knox Commons. The people there are wonderful, it's very clean, and there's no bad odor. The staff takes care of the people, they seem interested in them, and they provided stuff for them to do. His room is a double room and they keep it very nice, although they also have single rooms. Some of the activities include bingo, games, exercise times, bible study, they have animals that go around -- which is really cute -- and so on. There's also a rehab room, and a courtyard that the seniors can go out to. The meals my husband eats are good, and they also give him supplements since he doesn't eat a lot. Overall, the pricing is comparable."
