"I like everything about The Blake at Edgewater. Mom has beginning stages of dementia, but the people there know exactly what they're doing. I was giving her meds, and they said those meds need to be 12 hours apart; nobody in the other place told me that. They know exactly how to handle everything, and it's a real nice facility. She's got a place to walk outside for approximately a mile and a half around the pond. It's set up really nice. She's in assisted living. She likes the food a lot better than where she was. The dining area is real nice. When you walk in the door of her apartment, there's a sitting area with a couch, TV and a recliner; a little bit further down is the bedroom and the bathroom. It's all in one room, but it has kind of a half wall to break it up a little bit. They do exercise and crafts. They go on trips. There's a lot of things they do. I was only there once. Every time I call, she's out of the room."

"It was clean. It didn't smell funny and the residents seemed friendly. They were eating when I was there, and the food looked and smelled good. I met the financial woman and one nurse, and I liked both of them. They had WiFi, a salon, and exercises that they did together in the common rooms. What I didn't like about it was it was not near dialysis, and my sister needs dialysis."

"The Laurels & The Haven in the Village at Carolina Place was nice. The rooms were also nice, but they were a little smaller and didn't have any kitchen facilities in them. There's also a lot more you'd have to pay for there. They would start higher and then they have care levels and med levels. So, it would charge me quite a bit more Everything looked good on their menu. They had a billiard room, different rooms for reading or watching TV, and activities every day like playing cards, bingo, and painting classes. It was well-appointed. They will take you to Wal-Mart probably once a week as well. Andrea was the one who toured me around and she was very nice."

"We have chosen The Meridian at Carolina Lakes, and my aunt has already moved in. The people were super friendly and helpful. It's a nice community. It has this space that she was used to in the old place that she came from. It checked all the boxes we were looking for. I have not tried the food, but she tells me that it's good and it's so much better than where she came from. She enjoys the food there. They have lots of activities, too. The lunchroom is different than most communities. They order their food, and it gets delivered. So it is made to order. It is not where everybody sits down and they get their meal. They have a bar, a pool, physical therapy rooms, exercise rooms, and rooms for children to come and play. They have manicurists and hairdressers. They have a huge room for them to get together to do their activities."

"I liked CoHomes Boutique Senior Living. My mom was there for respite care and it was a good experience. The community was great. I liked the staff. They washed and folded her clothes. She had a large room with twin beds and a nice closet. They had cameras in, so I felt safe having my mom there. They had activities such as painting and playing games. They talked to her and engaged her, which was what she needed, and the place was clean. The dining room was nice. If I ever wanted to to put her in a senior building permanently, I would want her to go there. It was a great value for my money."

"I found it for my mother. They have both shared rooms and private available, and she is in a private room. It is not spacious, but it is adequate. There are tons of activities available; they have a calendar of events. They are extremely personable. Each one of their staff members knows my mom and her needs. The food can be better, but it is good, and people like it. "

"Charlotte Square was a very nice facility. The memory care unit is separate from the main building. The staff was very friendly. The rooms were very nice. I saw more of the people out doing things there than any of the other two that I went to. From what I saw, the food looked very good. I would have no complaints over the types of food and the amounts of food. From what I heard, they will especially make things for people that they can accommodate."

"The staff at Brooksdale Place were very kind and courteous during the time we were visiting there. They were more than happy to show us all around the facility and were very amiable with the residents there. You could tell that the residents and the staff had a very close relationship just by walking around. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. My Grandma was immediately taken with the facility. We moved her in very soon after our tour. My Grandma was at her happiest while she was here until she passed. The building and surrounding area is absolutely beautiful as well, it is very peaceful and well kept. The staff takes very good care of the building as well as the residents living there. I would highly recommend Brooksdale Place to anyone looking for an assisted living facility. If you want a facility where your relative, your friend, or even you, can feel safe and welcome then I implore you to move in at Brooksdale Place. "

"Brighton Gardens of Charlotte has been good. They have bridge, cooking, and daily activities. They serve three meals a day and they have snacks available. It is comfortable and everybody's very friendly. The staff is very informative and friendly. They have physical therapy and a beauty shop."

"My friend moved into Brookdale South Park. It's a memory care facility, totally memory care. It's very homey-like. They have their own rooms, but the rooms are very small. And it does have a bathroom, but no shower. So they have to go through a whole shower or a bathtub. Interaction with the staff is good most of the time. My friend doesn't go to any of the activities. They don't have that many. They have a beauty salon and a lady comes once a week. They have an outside little courtyard that they can go out to, but it's totally fenced in. But they have a little sidewalk around. It's a pretty good walkway, it's like oak. But she doesn't get out and walk because she's got a bad hip. And, usually, the staff is not out there to walk with them because it seems like they don't have enough staff. There are four or five different halls. I mainly just go to my friend's hall. She's on the garden path hall. They're all named something different. Each hall has its little dining room, which is nice. They don't have a big, huge one. It's memory care. They get to know the people that are in their dining room, and the food is good. They cook the food there."

"After receiving a high recommendation from a professional in the industry for this group home I visited it and found it to be everything I heard plus more. Both the facility and all of the staff make this a true home. Being able to put my wife here was the only positive in an eight year battle with Alzheimer's. I am treated like family, am keep updated on a regular basis. "

"My wife and I went to Brookdale Carriage Club Providence. The community was great. A lot of the apartments were a long walk and my spouse has walking problems. But the big issue was their assisted living is you hire someone to come to your place. The building was very clean, and it was light and airy. I didn't see any obvious maintenance issues. The staff was very nice. The place was bright and people seemed very happy. When you would meet them in the hallway, they all said hello. One of them held the elevator for us to get in. It was a very friendly place."

"At Sunrise on Providence, they had good programs for memory loss patients. I would rate them highly. The staff were excellent people and very knowledgeable. At the time I visited it, some of the seniors were doing exercises that they could do sitting down. They were doing some puzzles and different things that people with dementia would be doing. The rooms were very nice. They were the same size and have the same type of facilities, like a shower and a bathroom. "
