They were helpful as far as the paperwork, and it’s a community where they do accept Medicaid; that was one of the things that we were looking for. I liked the location. "We have chosen Spring Arbor of Steele Creek, and it was for assisted living. It's for both my parents, so they needed to have a suite-apartment style option, and they have that available there. The staff was very friendly. The facility itself was bright and sunny. The rooms were bright and funny, too. They had several activities and opportunities for my parents to socialize and meet other neighbors that are there in the community. It was in a lovely, suburban type setting. It was also very close to major medical facilities. My parents could easily get to doctors' appointments, and dental appointments, and things like that, which would accept their medical supplementary insurance. So that was also really an advantage. They had a hair salon, a media room, and a library. Each floor was set up where there were places for people to sit down and have conversations. They have sofas, club chairs, tables, and stuff so that you could mingle throughout your day. Their kitchen area was like a multi-purpose area for larger group events. I like the fact that every day they had something planned that my parents would enjoy, whether it was Bible study, arts and crafts, or movies and things like that, so there was a variety of options throughout the week. They also had the opportunity to go out to eat or go on planned excursions for the community. So that also factored into my decision."

"We had a tour at Carriage Club, and everybody was very nice. They showed us everything, and we were impressed with the facility. They showed us the different levels of care. I think we saw two rooms, which were renovated, and they were nice. The dining room was lovely. The residents we saw were engaged. There were people going downstairs to play cards. There were people in the dining room and sitting on the sofa. I thought it looked like a nice environment. "

"My mother is going to Brighton Gardens of Charlotte. Actually, she chose it out of the few that we have viewed, and it is really close to where I live. It is actually in between where I live and where I work, so I'll be able to see her about every day. The rooms are light, airy, and bright. The staff was very pleasant. I didn't have much time to visit with a lot of the staff or anything, but Jodie and Lauren were both very nice and accommodating. They have just about a little bit of everything. It seemed like a lot of activities were available."

"My mother just moved into Brookdale South Park. What made me move there was its close proximity to where mom was. She's in memory care and they were very helpful in getting us what we needed to move in. The staff seems very friendly and accommodating. She does not articulate really well, but she seems to be eating and she seems happy. The place is laid out to accommodate each person in their location. It is kind of set up like a wagon wheel and each area is labeled, so if you are able to comprehend where you are, then you will know where you need to go. It appears very clean. She is getting her value's worth for being there for such a short time. It is close to a hospital."

"It was more homey for my mother-in-law. The people were more welcoming. The residents that were there were very friendly. It's an older building. It's a little less expensive because you're not paying for all the modern looks. They have activities and meals. There are three floors, and each floor has four caregivers, so if one of the patients needs something, they're right there. They have all the appliances. The staff member was fantastic. There wasn't a question that we asked her that she didn't answer. She was very upfront and helpful. Their activity room was kind of in disarray. They're doing some kind of Disney feature, so it was a wreck. If it didn't have the sign out front, you would think it was an apartment building."

"My experience with Francine and Nathan and all the other staff has been exceptional. They have provided prompt and excellent service for my husband. The staff is friendly, pleasant, caring and polite. The environment is welcoming, and the facility is well kept and clean, and the meals are prepared well with a variety of options on their menu. My husband's room is spacious and bright and is well maintained with a good weekly housekeeping service. The staff does an excellent job in keeping the residents engaged in games, exercise classes and a variety of other activities."

"My mom is staying at Cadence Mint Hill. We're very happy with it. They take good care of my mom. They check on her throughout the day and night. My mom is wheelchair-bound, and they get her up and do things with her. They're doing the best they can. She's towards the end of the line, but she's doing okay. There are always activities. They have people come in. Every holiday, they decorate. They have hair-cutting and nail-cutting services there. Everybody seems very happy and friendly. All the patients talk to us, and they think the place is great, so we can't complain about anything. Everything seems to be nice. The staff members are top-notch people. If they find that my mother has a problem with something, they call us and let us know. They keep us updated. The cleaning staff comes in and cleans her room and bathroom. Everybody is very friendly and helpful towards my mom. So I can't say anything negative about them. The food looks great. The price just recently increased, but it's very doable."

"My sister and I went on an unscheduled visit. We were very impressed with the facility. We didn't have any complaints or saw anything we didn't like."

"This place treated our family like family. The staff was wonderful. Especially the therapy group. We didn't know what we were going to do when the insurance stop paying but the woman in the office helped out tremendously. Visiting was hard for awhile but they made sure we talked even using the staffs personal phones because none are in the rooms. It was very clean, and the food was good. I like that that they got to know all of us and made us feel comfortable in making the hard decisions. I wish we could do something for them workers because you don't find many people that are willing to be convalescent home workers because of low pay and what you hear but this place is good."

"I visited my friend at Waltonwood Providence. The staff was very friendly. The dining area was very nice. They had different rooms for card playing. My friend had a one-bedroom apartment. It was a little small but it was nice. It was very clean and everything else outside was also clean. The staff was friendly. I had no issues with them. They all seemed wanting to help the residents, and it was a very nice facility."

"We are trying to get Mom in at Highpoint at Fort Mill. It's beautiful. It is new. It is gorgeous. It's extremely clean. The staff during the tour was wonderful. She is just really bending over backward to make things happen. She has helped tremendously. They got physical therapy, field trips, and workout classes. They had a lot of stuff."
