Not quite the fit I am seeking for my husband but think it would be perfect for some. Open to visitors 9-9 ..and opportunity to sign residents out for hours or overnight."

They give lots of attention to the residents, treat them as we would want our loved ones to be treated, and are very good with communication to family. "We liked pretty much everything about our tour of The Blake at Baxter Village. We like the way it looks, the program, the atmosphere, the age of the people, and the services that they offer. It seems to be a well-run place, and a well-put together place. It will serve my mother and what her needs are now. I was able to meet with the director who was very thorough on what she did. From what I viewed and saw, the facility had a lot of things that they could offer the people. I also looked in the room, they had a salon, they had a courtyard, an art room, and a movie theater."

"I toured Denver Family Care Home. It was just a house with six people and a caretaker. It was absolutely lovely and so pristine. The person who is the 14-day on and 14-day off staff member who was present was wonderful, available, and informative. She didn't even know we were coming. The residents were clean. Their rooms were clean. The house was clean. Everyone was eating and having breakfast and going about their day. It's very organized. It's a lovely place. I wish it was a good fit for my father-in-law, but unfortunately not. If he needed assisted living, it would be perfect."

"I visited The Pines on Carmel. I like that they had on-staff physical therapy and occupational therapy. They had social gatherings. They do things for the family and the members there on holidays, like Fourth of July, Christmas, and Thanksgiving. I also like that they are able to help with the patients, such as taking them on outings and errands. They provide three meals a day. I wish that sometime in the future that they are able to have breakfast or lunch in the table area outside. They have to provide some shading for that to happen, though. The staff were very helpful, informative, and pleasant to talk to. The facility was very clean, very nice, up-to-date, and well-kept."

"My brother is in Brookdale Carriage Club Providence now. They're first class all the way, and it's very impressive. You've got to call in to get through the gate. It's got the complete combination of assisted living for seniors and those that need medical attention, and they've got nurses aboard for those that require it. The rooms look first class to me. He has a really nice room, almost like an apartment in a hotel. He has an assistant there all day with him to take him around. The dining room is first class. It's one of the best I've seen, and it looks like a country club. All the people that I saw seemed to be in very pleasant moods, and they are being taken care of pretty well. "

"I had a nice tour of Dilack Home. I like the atmosphere. The only thing they had was the available apartment suite, which was not within my budget, so I couldn't do that. Mom would have one bedroom that was pretty large. It was furnished and had a bed and your use of closet. In the apartment homes, they had their own little kitchenettes, which my mother did not need because she had dementia. The staff who gave the tour was very nice and very informative."
