"When we needed to find an assisted living facility for one of my mom's friends we were lucky enough to discover Emeritus at Bellaire Place in Greenville, SC. This is within driving distance of our home in Charlotte, NC and Emeritus allows some pets to share the living quarters with their owners. This was a major concern because the woman has a 14 year old Yorkie named Bobo that she could not bear to part with. We have visited weekly during the past 3 months and were quietly surprised to find that this is a senior community that really does stand behind its promises of service, care and quality. The food always looks delicious and from personal experience I can tell you that it tastes as good as it looks. The staff members must surely be busy throughout the day but they take the time to give us updates and answer questions as much as possible. Sometimes we have to wait until they have a moment to spare but they have never made us feel as though we were unwelcome or intrusive. Our mom's friend is delighted with the care and assistance that is available around the clock, and Bobo seems to have settled in and made new friends as well. I guess their happiness and well-being says it all. "

"The Blake at Hollingsworth Park was nice. Everything was very nice. It's been built in the past few years, and I don't know exactly when, but I feel like they've opened up fairly recently, so it's very new. The staff was great. They're very nice, very friendly, and very helpful. It's probably the number one place on my list if we had to go."

"We went to visit and it was good, it's very nice, and everybody there was very nice. We enjoyed the visit to their memory care unit. The person who assisted us was very good and very professional. She showed us the rooms, the amenities, the cafeteria, the place where they play games, and the hair salon."

"I got a full tour of everything. It was beautiful. The staff seemed wonderful. The rooms were spacious. It was very nice. They have a lot of activities that go on. They have a theater room and a full salon. They have just different things like that. The grounds were beautiful. You could go out in the courtyard and sit. They had a huge fireplace in the entrance, the little bistro, and all that kind of thing, so it was just very nice. It's very nice and brand new. It was just a good experience."

"I toured Woodland Place Senior Living. They had like 33 people, so that appealed to me that maybe my sister would get more one-on-one care because there were not as many residents. The rooms appeared to be large enough. The room appeared to be clean. I was just pleased to see that they were out and about interacting with each other. The staff appeared very friendly. However, I still have questions for them. I want to make sure that my sister is going to get one-on-one attention. They didn't have that many amenities, but they wanted their residents to come in and eat in the dining room, and I liked that. I wanted to see my sister do that, to get up and move her body around, so I liked that."

"I toured Pacifica Senior Living Skylyn. It was a good tour, somewhere where I would put my mom if we could afford it. But, it was a little bit out of our price range. The room was nice compared to some I've been to before. It was good. It was clean, and it was spacious. The staff was knowledgeable and very helpful, but she could not answer a couple of questions."

"There are many facilities for the elderly in this area, but Eden Terrace stands out as the finest in all respects, largely due to the exemplary staff and focus upon individualized service. All staff members...professional, clerical, food service, maintenance, etc. ...all are courteous, loving, and devoted to the care of the residents. I am the guardian for a resident, who tells me frequently, "I've never been this happy before," and "I feel as though I'm on a cruise with no ocean," and "Please don't ever move me." The beauty and ambiance of the facility are matched only by the quality of the marvelous staff."

"My mom was a resident of Lakewood. We like the people who took care of my mother. They were good people but the things I didn't like at all were the administrative heads. The only activity I saw during her five-month stay there was bingo and that was not something for my mother because she was very distracted. That wasn't an activity that suited her needs. I tried their food. It was adequate and some days were better than others. The facility upkeep is average. I didn't see anything that brought concern but it could have been cleaner. It's in desperate need of carpet replacement. The room is adequate for her needs. It has a bulk shower which was designed for senior living. If I could change anything, it would be the administrative change."

"My mom is on the waiting list of Ashlan Village. It’s very clean, the people that we talked to were very nice, and we liked the rooms. I guess just everything about it we really liked. It’s very convenient, and the final thing as to why we chose them was the convenience of where it was located. It’s kind of right in the middle of all of us, and we were all satisfied. They have an activity director and several other people for everything they do during the day. They have guests coming in every weekend and some throughout the week just to sing, and they have church service every Saturday and an exercise class every morning. They also take them out in their bus and go to outings in the community to do things. I was very impressed with everything. My mother loves music, singing, and church. She hasn’t really been able to go to her church, so I thought this would be great because it will be right by her, and she can walk down the hall. "

"It was very good. We had lunch, and it’s very good; they even had a gluten free dessert for me -- a special dessert. The rooms were nice but small. The staff was very friendly and nice too. The location and the surroundings were good. There seemed to be activities going on while we were there. The manager that met us was very attractive. "

"I toured The Pearl at Five Forks and overall, I was impressed with the introduction and the actual tour of the community. It was well-cut. Everything was very clean, very parallel, and the staff seemed pleasant. From what I noticed, it seemed like everybody was in good spirits, as far as the residents. The person I'm working with was very knowledgeable and understanding of our needs, and pretty much answered everything that we had to ask. So, I had a pleasant experience on the tour. I looked into a single bedroom and they also looked well-cut. They were furnished and spacious. Compared to the others that I've seen, those were probably the most spacious ones, especially for that price. The dining area was very nice and clean too."
