"Wellmore of Tega Cay was a really nice place. The place was new, so it had a new feeling to it, and everything was up to date. The food was spectacular. It even had a bar for guests who are staying there to enjoy a drink or two in the evenings. It was really a step above for the whole place. The staff people were all very nice and very helpful. It was a really good place and expensive, also. The only thing that really stood out to me that was maybe different from other places is that their price was a set price that included everything. Some facilities will charge you extra if you had 10 medications or whatever or if you need a certain kind of help. Wellmore is all-inclusive: whatever the price is, it covers everything. If you can afford it, it's a great thing. "

"I visited Pineville Rehab on several occasions while a client of mine was receiving short term rehab assistance there. The facility is very neat and clean, with an open and bright feeling to it. The rooms are a good size and the open spaces (dining and common areas) are inviting, clean, and updated nicely. Staff at this facility were very friendly, welcoming, and ;informative. My client was quite confused about the whole short term stay process / process surrounding returning to home. The rehab staff, nursing staff, and social worker all really seemed to go out of their way to continuously keep her informed about what was going on, how she was progressing, and what would need to happen in order for her to return home. I also received prompt return phone calls when I was following up with them regarding her return home and felt like they really respected the support network (myself and her daughter) that my client had in the community, who would be assisting her when she returned home. My client commented that the food was very good at this facility and she enjoyed the social time she spent with other clients/residents while she was in the dining hall. There were also many different activities available to help make her stay more enjoyable. As a last note, I would like to comment that I was very impressed with the physician who visited the facility. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the geriatric community he was serving, had a wonderful bedside manner, and just overall did a great job. I would recommend this facility without hesitation and my client said she would as well. "

"My mom moved into White Oak Manor - York. It's close by, so I can run over there. Everyone has been very caring, understanding, and patient. They have been very reassuring to us in dealing with my mom's dementia. They take very good care of her. They have been very accommodating in helping to make sure that her diet is something that works for her because she has issues with swallowing. They have little classes that they take her to. But right now, she's been doing a lot of PT, OT, and speech therapy. She goes down occasionally for activities. It's an older building, but it's kept clean and things are orderly. There's not a lot of stuff out in the hallway. It's kept open. My mom's room is nice. The doctor talks to me at least once a week. The nurses keep me up to date on everything every time I come in. We've had to put my mom on a pureed diet, but she eats every bit of it. I saw other normal meals, and they looked really good."

"My friend is in rehab at Mecklenburg Rehab (Mecklenburg Health Care Center). The place is very clean and the people and staff are very friendly and accommodating, not only to visitors but also to residents. The food is pleasing to the eye, well thought out, have a nice variety and is based on what the individual's dietary needs are. My friend is basically working on his mobility, balance and his right hand. They have really worked with him and he has come a long way. They keep the place nice and no odd smells."

"The Pavilion Health Center is close to my house. The staff has been excellent with my husband. They have very nice rooms, and they have a lot of activities. They play cards and bingo, and they have bible study. Through Christmas, they have a lot of entertainment with people coming in playing Christmas music. The dining room is nice. The whole place is new, and it is a nice place to be. It is decorated nicely, and the food is reasonable. "

"I visited this facility with a friend whose Grandmother was a resident. It's set in a gorgeous location, right in the heart of Southpark. The grounds are amazing, with plenty of open space, ponds, walking trails, and greenery everywhere. The building is also very new, modern, and completely updated. My friend's Grandmother was staying in a semi-private room at Stewart. Though it was not private, the room was spacious and she felt that she was well matched with her roommate. The staff were very attentive in helping with housekeeping and personal care. Her room was very neat and clean at each visit and I never noticed any odors. The staff in general were very friendly and helpful. In particular, the activities coordinator seemed to really enjoy working with the residents. The calendar offered arts and crafts, exercise classes, and other such activities giving plenty of opportunities for socialization and sensory stimulation. The only downside I could see to this facility is they do not accept Medicaid patients. That might prevent it from being an option for some, but for those who can afford it (or can use Medicare dollars for short term stays) it remains a good option. I would recommend this facility. My friend's Grandmother seemed very happy there and I always felt as if her care was excellent. "

"I visited Sharon Towers with a friend, whose Grandmother lived in the facility. It is a high rise style facility, located in the SouthPark area of Charlotte, Immediately I was impressed with the cleanliness and updated decor of the facility. It had a very classy feeling to it, much like a more upscale hotel. My friend's Grandmother's apartment was really nice. It provided adequate space for her to enjoy as her own home yet was small enough that she was able to manage some of the organizing, housecleaning, etc. herself (which she enjoyed doing). Staff were also very available to assist her with such tasks and her apartment was very neat and clean in appearance. The common dining hall was really pretty and the woman I was visiting stated that she really enjoyed the meals they served there. It had a nice, open feeling to it and was also extremely neat and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I saw at least two staff members greeting residents by name and smiling as they were completing their work. There are plenty of activities available in this facility and even shuttle bus service for things like shopping, church, and resident outings planned by the activities staff. Overall I would say this is a wonderful facility and I would highly recommend it. "

"My Grandmother lived here for a few years at the end of her life. She had such wonderful relationships with the staff that cared for her. Some of her favorite times were spent chatting with members of the housekeeping staff. My Grandmother could be a very particular little lady and the staff always went above and beyond to accommodate her wants and needs. The rooms were spacious and every room had its own private bathroom and shower. I loved how each "neighborhood" had a different feel and charm. "

"My father is at Carrington Place. He gets physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy five to seven times a week, and then he has a full-time nurse and a CNA assigned to him. The staff are very nice and very friendly. It's just hard sometimes to connect because they're very busy. They're busy, and they aren't around with nothing to do. They're not readily available, but if you have a question, they're on it immediately. I've fed my father several times and the food is appetizing. It's not the same menu every time. It looks very good. They're going through a remodel right now, so we've had to navigate through new floors being put down just in the last two weeks, but I'm sure once that's done, it'll be very nice. They have activities. If there's not someone there to wheel the residents to the activity, they don't get to go. However, they don't allow the residents just to sit in their room. They put them in a common room so that they see people moving, they see people interacting, people will come by and interact with them, and that's huge for somebody who has memory care. That was a big plus for us when we saw all that happening. "

"We found the Belaire Health Care Center for my mother. She's only been there a little bit, I guess it's going good, we can't go inside the facility because of the COVID, but we can visit at the window and with a telephone. You just see her in her room, they put her in a wheelchair, roll her to the window, and give her the phone. The staff is so far very nice and helpful. She has a private room, it looks nice, it has a hospital bed, but it has like a headboard and footboard that kind of looked like a home bed and a chair. It's nice. It looks clean, very clean everywhere, even outside. Her Medicare and her supplementary insurance is paying for it up to 100 days, she's in rehabilitation, and if she doesn't show progress she may have to leave and go somewhere else."
