I've moved into Brookdale Carriage Club Providence. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The property is beautiful. My apartment is small, so it takes a little while to get used to. It's a one-bedroom apartment and it's very nice, well-maintained, and well cared for. In terms of all the places I looked at, it was moderately priced. It was kind of in the midrange of all of them. They have a big, well-managed, well-run cafeteria or dining room. The food is good and adequate. They have a pool and a big auditorium. It's a large facility. I think it's on ten acres or something. There's a walking path and two lakes on the property.

I was very impressed with Brookdale Carriage Club Providence. I felt like it was a beautiful campus. The connectivity of the buildings was great. They have a great new gym. Everybody that I saw there was smiling and seemed to be doing well. Eva, who gave me the tour, was wonderful. She was not pushy or anything. She was very good at listening to me and also giving me a lot of good information. She was great. The place is beautiful. The walking path there is something that my aunt would love. She wants to be out walking, and they have great walking paths that would still keep her within the complex that would be safe, so that was great. They have a lot of opportunities for people. They have a pool, they're doing water aerobics, and they've got a gardening area that has beautiful zinnias and vegetables growing. I've been trying to also get my parents to look at one of these places (they're 95 and 92), and I could see my parents at this place, too. They have like a little patio or balcony off each room which takes you outside, and it is nice. I looked at the independent living and then the staff also took me to the assisted living because I wanted to look at that. The good thing about that is that with assisted living, it's still very close. You can still go over there and use all the other amenities and things over at the independent living clubhouse area. It's all just sort of right there altogether. That was nice. There were options to have a place that was connected indoors to where they would go to eat, where the library was, and where all the activities were. That's the whole clubhouse, so you wouldn't have to go outside to get to them. If it was a bad day outside weather-wise, you could just do your walking inside on these long quarters. There's one big, long corridor that connects one big building to the main clubhouse. I liked my tour. I saw a lot of positive things there. They have redone some stuff recently, and that was good. I went over my time with the tour staff, but she was very gracious, and she said she had plenty of time and she just continued to take me around the place.

Our tour of Brookdale Carriage Club Providence was excellent. It's a very large facility. They include three meals a day and a cleaning service. They have a full-sized kitchen and washer-and-dryer in the unit, which was a plus. They had an outdoor heated pool, which was a plus, too. They had some carports. They offered a bus service to shopping and doctor's appointments. And they had organized activities. It was very, very nice. It was a little bit on the pricey side and that's why we didn't choose it. The staff members were very knowledgeable and very nice. However, it was a little bit of a walk to get from the home to the dining facility.

My wife and I went to Brookdale Carriage Club Providence. The community was great. A lot of the apartments were a long walk and my spouse has walking problems. But the big issue was their assisted living is you hire someone to come to your place. The building was very clean, and it was light and airy. I didn't see any obvious maintenance issues. The staff was very nice. The place was bright and people seemed very happy. When you would meet them in the hallway, they all said hello. One of them held the elevator for us to get in. It was a very friendly place.

Brookdale Carriage Club Providence was a lovely facility, but I felt like you'd be living in a hotel room. The apartment was nice, but it was a studio and there was just a bedroom and a bathroom. That's not what we want for Dad. The staff person was great. She was very pleasant. The facility was very clean.

The overall tour I had at Brookdale Carriage Club Providence was good. The lady who took us around was friendly. The property itself was nice. It's a little older compared to the other place that I visited. The standalone units that were available were too small for what we were looking for. They didn't have any available in the larger size. They have a clubhouse that was being renovated and the renovations looked nice. They had a hair salon, a nail salon, too, and that was a big selling point. The lady didn't share all of the different activities, but she asked what we would enjoy doing. She said that they have off-campus community-type things that they do. Their swimming pool was nice. It would have been nice if they had an indoor swimming pool though. I think that she said they had water aerobics, which would be good. I liked that they had walkways between the apartments and the clubhouse so that you could walk in a covered space to get from the apartment building back over to the clubhouse.

Brookdale Carriage Club Providence got multiple levels on one campus. I like that they had apartments and duplexes. I really would like to start my parents in a cottage and then move them as needed to more of an apartment living. It's very clean and very neat. Everything's easy to get to. You could even walk to the dining facilities and everything from each of the cottages. They also had parking facilities. They've got the beauty parlor, the art room, and the theater room. They had a little bit of everything that they could possibly want in a place. They had little ponds they could go fish in. The grounds were very well kept. The staff during the tour was wonderful.

My tour experience at Brookdale Carriage Club Providence was good. The facility was very nice and they had a friendly environment. The person I met was very flexible when meeting with me. The rooms were also very nice and very clean. They did not look outdated. They looked new. They showed me different sized rooms, and even the smallest room would fit someone comfortably. When I was there, there was a church service going on.

We toured Brookdale Carriage Club Providence. I loved that it was smaller units, not the size of the apartment, but the fact that the buildings have a village setup. It had a lot of acreage, and the grounds were very nice. They just seemed very organized and very clean. We saw a model home which is their newest renovated apartment. It has granite countertops and a modern color scheme. The staff who gave me the tour was very knowledgeable and very pleasant. She answered all of our questions and was not pushy at all. She seems to understand our needs. We visited during the lunch period, but they did not offer a meal.

We got to tour the whole facility of Brookdale Carriage Club Providence with the salesperson. We went through all the amenities. Before we visited, I had several pages of questions that were all answered. I think we got to see just about everything we wanted to. We were particularly interested in the villas, with two of us moving in, we wanted to be in one of the villas, so we got to see. I would classify it as older, but they're remodeling as they go along. For example, if somebody has been in the unit for ten years and the unit is vacated, they'll completely remodel it. So we get to see some remodeled places as well. They're all very nice. So we were pleased with the visit. They are very forthcoming. They drove us around the properties where we got to see everything. People seem friendly. The people that lived there seem to be very friendly as well. It was a little older but very clean. One thing we did like, literally you don't have to go outside during inclement weather or the winter to go from one place to another, except for living in the villas there you'd have to at least across the street to be able to get into the indoor corridors and stuff like that. We met maintenance staff people and cleaning staff people, and again, everybody seemed very, very friendly. The biggest thing about it and why we were interested in it, they have the whole spectrum of continuing care on campus, but you don't pay upfront for that. If you need it, then you pay for it. So like ourselves, we have had a long-term care policy for over 20 years. That in itself is very attractive because you don't have those big upfront costs. But everything is on the campus, and it's a gated community as well, over 45 acres, lots of trails, and very, very pretty. I don't think we saw any apartment that didn't think you were living out in the woods someplace. That's one thing to consider.

We toured Brookdale Carriage Club Providence. The price is the best thing I like about the place, and the least thing that I like is that it has not been updated yet. They need to update their entire reception area, dining area, and all that. The staff that we saw was the person that gave us the tour, she was very good and thorough. The facilities were old, but they had a courtyard, swimming pool, exercise facilities, a salon, and a barber shop.

I toured Brookdale Carriage Club Providence. Brookdale to me is true to its name. It is independent. It also has an assisted living aspect, and it also has a memory, in separate buildings. It's marvelous. You go in. It's secure. They have the security guard, so no one can go in willy nilly, and I like that. The layout was marvelous, the landscaping was beautiful, and it was welcoming. You didn't feel like you were going to a facility. The entrance to it is magnificent, the common room, and the dining room are magnificent. The staff around, they're very friendly. When I came in they had "welcome Pam" signs. Washers and dryers were in your separate units. Many options based on what you could afford. You could have what they call a villa, which is not necessarily one of the residences in the three floor building; a lot of options, walking trails, and a swimming pool. They're down south, that makes sense. It was just nice, I felt at home there. It was more of a community. It just looked lovely. If I had to go anywhere, I would go there. The staff was very knowledgeable, very helpful, and showed me all the rooms, all the possibilities, the villa, the one bedroom, the one with the terrace, the one with the walk out, and they showed me the gardening aspect. I'm a big gardener and there's not a big garden, but you could garden there. The activities were many, not just bingo. There were a lot of people in the common areas sitting, they had the hairdresser on site. They also have a full nursing staff. If you needed some sort of medication reminder, you're not ready to go into assisted care, but you might need a reminder, it just seemed like everything was there.

What I liked best about Brookdale Carriage Club Providence is the variety of levels of care. They have independent, assisted, and memory/Alzheimer's care, and if you're independent, you can still have some assistance. Either you hire your own or they have some people there for just small things and that would be extra. The people we ran into in the hall were very friendly. They had a variety of things. They had a very nice gym, a very nice game room, a swimming pool outdoors, and a beauty salon, which was something I was looking for, for my mom. It's easy to access and it's also on Old Providence. Even though you're in the city, it has a lot of trees and it's a quiet neighborhood road, even though it's off of a busy road. When you get off of the main road, all of a sudden it's very peaceful and quiet.

I went to Brookdale Carriage Club Providence. The grounds are beautiful. I saw three different apartment styles, and I liked all of them. The woman who took me around was very friendly. She spent a lot of time with me. I visited the community areas. I had lunch in the dining room, which was very good. I had a very positive impression. I saw the dining room, a library, a bar area, a workout room, and an outdoor pool. They gave me a list of the activities that were going on that day, and they seemed to have a lot of activities for the residents. I was also given a lot of information about the finances compared to other places I've considered. I thought it was very reasonable. You don't have to buy into it, and you can also go into many different levels. The staff was very good. The apartments were spacious. I think they're the best value.

I took a tour of Brookdale Carriage Club, and I can tell you that I appreciated the person that toured me around. I believe her name was Lisa, but it has been a couple of weeks, so I could be mistaken. She was very engaging, energetic, and enthusiastic. She gave me material to bring home, which I found helpful, and she answered a lot of questions. It was a nice brochure, or a packet would be better word, and I appreciated that. I called her back to ask a question, but I don't remember what the question was, and she was able to answer that for me. There wasn't anything that I disliked. One thing that I didn't like, and this is just a personal preference, I didn't like the carpeting. The place certainly appeared to be very well maintained, but I didn't care for the carpeting, and that would be a factor. One of the units that we looked at had a balcony, which I thought was nice. The outdoors were clean, tidy, and appeared to be well cared for.

We went to Brookdale Carriage Club Providence. We were impressed with the grounds. It is in a nice, wooded area, and it has a comfortable feeling. I like that they have a gardening area for the residents. The facilities inside were very neat, too. It was during COVID, so there's limited activity, and I could not get a good judgment of what it would be like in a post-COVID world, but the people we spoke with were very knowledgeable. We looked at a one-bedroom apartment.

Brookdale Carriage Club Providence was too spread out for me and my husband. He was with me then and he could barely walk. It was just too spread out to get to the dining room and whatever you're doing. It was not a level that he would have been able to manage. They had very nice rooms. The staff was very nice. Everything is in one big recreation center, the meals are there, the swimming pool is in the back, and they have a lower level that has a gym with classes. If you really are able bodied and can walk, then it's the place for you, but if you have trouble getting around, I don't know, unless you pay extra to be in one of the homes that are nearer the recreation center. They have a golf cart, but you have to call for them to come and pick you up. We ate lunch there.

I was not very impressed with Brookdale Carriage Club Providence, especially the kitchen, because it was old. The refrigerator was small and not convenient to me because the freezer was low. The apartment was small for me, but the staff was very nice. I saw the exercises, and they were very happy there.

We had a good time with the people at Brookdale Carriage Club Providence. It's quite small and rather congested, and it did not look like they would be able to extend much. I'm into a lot of sports. There's an outdoor swimming pool, but it's not enough for me at this point. We ate there twice and it was all right. It was fine, but there were not many choices. The guy behind the desk worked hard to get in touch with the person we were meeting with, but he showed up at the right time, and took us around.

Brookdale Carriage Club Providence was very nice and had a lot to offer. There's a swimming pool and they offer different types of exercise in the pool. It's very expensive though, and not a lot of people can afford to go there. The staff member who gave me the tour was very helpful. They have a lot to offer there.

My mother-in-law has been living at Brookdale Carriage Club Providence memory care for three months now. The place is nice. They have a bird and a dog that go around. The atmosphere of the place is OK. The staff is really nice, helpful, and friendly. The rooms are very small but cute. They have a community room where a lot of activities go on, and they have books in a little section where they can read and play some games.

My mother used to live in Brookdale Carriage Club Providence. They had entertainment and delicious food. The place was great. They had a happy hour every day but gave people too much liquor, and I don't think that's right. The help wasn't so great, and the cost was expensive. The director was terrible and took on more than she could handle. I waited about a month to hear from her. The rest of the staff was wonderful. Overall, it's not a good value for the money.

BEWARE! This facility looks very nice for the price quoted. That is the key word “quoted”. We were told one price and then after a month, the price tripled. We were told the level of care had to increase, increasing the cost. Nothing had changed about the family member. Why suddenly the increase? The staff is subpar. We have had numerous medication errors, sleeping on the job when they were suppose to be sitting. RN is nice, but has no follow up with anything. Billing is a nightmare. You get your statement and you can’t understand it. You ask for help, they say they will get back to you and you have to follow up with them. I am not sure they know what has been charged. You can make phone calls to people and the go unreturned. Plan on spending a lot of time on follow up. THEY WANT MONEY! It is not about care, it is about making money. Sad that people save and plan for this day, only to have creative arithmetic applied. I would never recommend. Please weigh your decision. We should have looked at current reviews and not past, before they became a big corporation.

I didn't like Brookdale Carriage Club Providence. Outside, it was crowded, but inside residents were wearing sweat clothes and were walking around. I went on a Sunday, and that's the way they were dressed. I think dressing like that makes you go downhill because it doesn't make you feel good about yourself. They ought to make their dress code a little bit better; they can't wear just sweat pants. Also, they don't give assigned spots for their cars, so there wasn't a place for me to park my car. They didn't show me any activities, so I don't really know if they have activities. The staff was not very informative.

Overall I would say the place is ok For the price you pay you definitely do not get the attention or follow up from the management team. The dog and pony show is nice when you go for a visit. The independent living apartments are nice. I agree with other reviewers that state the communication is poor. Once you move in you are on your own as far as follow up. They make the sale and they disappear. Also no one will call you back- from the finance team to the Executive Director(never seen her not sure she exists). We had an issue with billing that has taken 3 or 4 follow ups to get resolved. I rated the place as poor simply based on communication and follow-up.

The Assisted Living care unit and services have dramatically diminished since Brookdale took over. Prices have dramatically increased. Communication between staff is poor. Cleanliness is an issue as is lackluster attention to details. They've cut down on physical therapy personnel and services. There are always very good, hardworking assistants that we rely upon but there is terrible quality control. No evidence of oversight. Head nurse? Not in evidence. Head supervisor? Rarely on a floor. The previous administration was hands on. Interactive. These people are in hiding. Facilities are also in dire need of upgrades. Bathrooms are not always clean, laundry is poorly done and piled in a heap wrinkled.. We must look elsewhere as the administration at the assisted living ( can't speak for other units) has declined too rapidly, with no sign of improvement. It's not easy to transplant elderly parents, so be careful about this entry point. Their rating is currently not appropriate for assisted living. Many people leaving for similar reasons. The whole arena is depressing. Very disappointed with Brookdale administrative decisions and inability to get rid of those incompetent.

My father was a resident of Clairebridge for 51/2 years until his death. I have seen many changes over the years. In 2011 they probably had double the staff they have now. The staff and director are amazing. My issues are with Brookdale. My father was under Hospice care for 17 days before his death with me paying for around the clock personal care. After he died I still had to pay full price daily rate for 2 weeks. It's in the contract that you have to give 2 weeks notice before leaving but upon death with 17 days under Hospice care, I don't think it is appropriate to be charged for 2 additional weeks. Everyone needs to know this before going into a Brookdale community.

My mother is in Brookdale Carriage ,but I am looking for another place for her as she was unhappy, but now she is happy in Brookdale. They have doctors on site, and if they go into another part of the facility they can go into the assisted living part and not have to move anywhere. Also it’s close to my brother’s house. This is a good location right now, but it’s not that great. The staff is very nice; I like them. They have all kinds of activities like exercise, sewing group, book group, and a little chapel, and they have a little card room. It’s an older facility; it's nice but needs some work.

My dad is in Brookdale for rehab. They have independent living, assisted living memory care, and rehabilitation. They’ve been fine, they cared for my dad well, and it’s a clean and comfortable location. However, their communication is not very good. I liked that they have everything in one location; however, when you become so big, you tend to get lost in the system.

Brookdale Carriage Club Providence needs a little updating. My ex-husband moved in, and moved out again. His room was all redone, so it was new kitchen, new carpeting, and everything. It was nice, and it was a one-bedroom.

We had a quite good visit in Brookdale Carriage Club. We observed that there was a lot of care from the staff. During our visit, we got to see a variety of housing options for independent living. It was quite an old facility, but I like the arrangement of the apartments. There were more units along the roads. It gives a feeling of being outdoor, even if you were in your own home. We really liked that place. It was just so expensive and had a high buy-in rate. The location was not that ideal for us too.

A month ago, I came into the Brookdale Carriage Club. They have both independent and assisted living, tong-term care and dementia care, which is what I was looking for, and they were very accommodating and have 300 apartments. I have been very satisfied. I have a one-bedroom, living room, kitchen, and a bath; it works fine for me. We have speech therapy, OT, and all sorts of services one could possibly want. Also, they take you to doctors' appointments and have a bus to go to church. If you can’t drive, you are not stuck here. They have places you could go.

My brother is in Brookdale Carriage Club Providence now. They're first class all the way, and it's very impressive. You've got to call in to get through the gate. It's got the complete combination of assisted living for seniors and those that need medical attention, and they've got nurses aboard for those that require it. The rooms look first class to me. He has a really nice room, almost like an apartment in a hotel. He has an assistant there all day with him to take him around. The dining room is first class. It's one of the best I've seen, and it looks like a country club. All the people that I saw seemed to be in very pleasant moods, and they are being taken care of pretty well.

We were trying to keep my parents together, and my objective was to have assisted living and memory care in the same building, so that was the only reason. Brookdale was lovely. I thought it would be great for my dad, but I was concerned that once they had to move my mother to memory care that he wouldn't go visit her. Everybody was very nice, but we just had a very short meeting. We had a very brief conversation about the layout of the facilities and how it was structured between memory care and assisted living, and we just kind of realized it probably wasn't going to work for my mom. They have a great reputation in Charlotte. We have some friends who had parents or friends who had lived there and absolutely loved it. We just knew it was not going to work for my parents.

I didn't like Brookdale Carriage Club Providence. The outside looks OK. It is homey and friendly. It has a beautiful setting, but you'd be very claustrophobic. The room they showed to me was really small, and I didn't like that you had to bring your own furniture. The biggest thing is the price they put on the website. There's kind of a little deception. You have to pay for the room this much amount, and on top of that, you have to pay another $2000 for a deposit fee.

I visited Brookdale Carriage Club Providence, and everyone was very friendly. It seemed like a nice environment. I saw one apartment and one villa, and they looked OK and well-kept. The dining room was lovely. They had a separate bar area. The grounds were gorgeous, wooded, and had a very relaxed atmosphere. They had a recreation room with billiards and ping pong, a card room, a library, a swimming pool, and a fitness room.

We placed dad at a Brookdale living facility, and it is lovely. They have all kinds of care, and he is in independent living. They have apartments and villas. They provide housekeeping once a week. It is an older facility; that is why they still have the woods and the lake which is quite nice. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and supportive. Right now he is receiving physical therapy there which is really nice. They are able to do that right there in the facility. It is very social, and all the residents seem happy and comfortable. The food is fine, and the dining area is very nice. They have a place where you can have takeout as well as going to the dining room. He prefers to do the takeout.

Terrible place. Independent living get all the amenities that higher care residents pay for them to enjoy. The staff are neglectful and can't be trusted. The activities are a farce! The residents are left alone... It's so sad to see. The food is disgusting and can't be nourishing. Please look at other options for your loved one.

Management staff are not to be trusted. Have never kept their word. Took our deposit with the promise that they would house her in memory care when needed, now they don't have a Bed and want to move her 45 minutes away from us. Sad disappointed and cheated is how I feel. Wish we had never opted to bring her here. Nice place if you are 100% ok but if you need help you are ON YOUR OWN. Don't expect anyone to follow through on their empty promises

Carriage Club of Charlotte is very pretty. The premises are well taken care of, and it has a very nice dining room. The grounds are lovely. The space in the one-bedroom apartment is very nice. My mother-in-law especially liked the fact that they have a kitchen in the apartment. The menu itself is good, and they serve two meals every day: lunch and dinner. They offer church services and cards. They also have guest lectures, which I thought was of interest to me, but not my mother-in-law. They also offer outings, which is very nice, and transportation to church services, shopping, and to doctor's appointments. They have an outdoor pool, and they also have a physical therapy room with exercise equipment. The interior lobby and the public areas are very nicely furnished and nicely pleasant. The hallways leading to the apartments are in good shape, but I think it lacks character. My mother-in-law got lost because all the hallways looked the same. If they would just paint and do something different in the hallways leading to the apartments, it might alleviate the confusion.

We had a tour at Carriage Club, and everybody was very nice. They showed us everything, and we were impressed with the facility. They showed us the different levels of care. I think we saw two rooms, which were renovated, and they were nice. The dining room was lovely. The residents we saw were engaged. There were people going downstairs to play cards. There were people in the dining room and sitting on the sofa. I thought it looked like a nice environment.

Carriage Club was one of my preferred places. It had all the facilities that we were interested in. It looked very nice. They had bigger apartments. They had pretty good programs. They had an exercise room and outdoor swimming pool. The food was very good and I was quite impressed with it. The staff was good and they made followed up and sent us a card. They had transportation service to doctors and churches. However, it was more expensive than the other ones we visited

The staff at Carriage Club of Charlotte was very nice and informative. They took me around and it was a very nice complex with nice units. They had a patio, a gazebo with seats all around and a picnic table. They also had a garden park with a grass path. However, they had a very small memory unit. They had maybe twenty rooms and they were all full. They didn't have any room for mom.

It's an excellent community. My mom was in an independent care and transitioned to skilled care. They were very very kind to her. Mom really likes them. They just cannot do as much a one on one because the staff is very busy. My mom was there for a total of 7 years. The place is nice. The main dining food is pretty good. The food in the skilled care was not that good. They did not accommodate different diets.

My mother moved into Carriage Club last November. The place is clean and the staff has been very helpful all along. I have been very pleased with them. My mother is turning 96 this month. She enjoys the food there and she says it's so good.

We agreed to help an elderly friend find an assisted living facility that would suit her budget and personal needs. This was the first time that we visited Carriage Club but certainly not the last. Canopied trees and more than 40 acres of land makes this an oasis in the city. It is easy to forget that the shopping district, theaters and hospitals are just a few miles away. This facility is in Charlotte, NC and caters to senior citizens who require assisted living or wish to continue their independent lifestyles. There are also options available including skilled nursing and Alzheimer's care. Residents are able to smoothly transition to a more detailed care setting if circumstances should change. In fact this property is the only in the southeastern Charlotte area to offer such a wide variety of senior living options. With emergency assistance and on-call staff at the ready 24/7 our dear friend is able to continue her active life at the age of 85. She still enjoys shopping and fixes her own lunch several times a week but if she needs help with these activities there is always someone there she can depend upon. Knowing that her memory is no longer as sharp as it once was the nurses make sure that her medication schedule is observed and keeps track of her doctor appointments. She is proud that she can still live independently in a private apartment but we know that she is appreciative of the care and support from the staff. This property is meticulously landscaped and includes a small lake, walking paths, gardens and an outdoor pool. And, my goodness, you just have to hear the grand piano being played at least once. As a guest I was fortunate enough to be given a guided tour of Carriage Club on two occasions and I have always found it to be wonderfully maintained. I would personally give this assisted living facility the highest possible rating.
