"The one I liked the most was the Brookdale Carriage Club Providence. Eva, the girl that showed us around, was so nice and wanted to try to fit the place to us, as to what we're looking for. It's a large place, and it covers all types of care. You can go in as an independent, and then if you need help, you can switch over and get assisted living right in the same place. Then, if you need memory care, they also have that available. That appealed to me because as you get older, you change, and I wouldn't want to move again. It had everything you could want. They have at least three meals a day, and on Sunday, they give you brunch. I didn't taste their food. I was invited back to taste it, but I never got back because of my fall. They were generous-sized and well-appointed rooms. They had a full kitchen with a stove, a microwave, a refrigerator, a dishwasher, and a washer and dryer. It had everything. It was spotless and very well done."

"The Little Flower Assisted Living has a very friendly atmosphere. They have entertainment during the week here, playing games, and things like that. The staff is very caring. The food is like that from a restaurant. It's very good. My room is like a hotel room. It's comfortable, and I can look out the window and see the garden. I have no complaints."

"My mom is staying at Cadence Mint Hill. We're very happy with it. They take good care of my mom. They check on her throughout the day and night. My mom is wheelchair-bound, and they get her up and do things with her. They're doing the best they can. She's towards the end of the line, but she's doing okay. There are always activities. They have people come in. Every holiday, they decorate. They have hair-cutting and nail-cutting services there. Everybody seems very happy and friendly. All the patients talk to us, and they think the place is great, so we can't complain about anything. Everything seems to be nice. The staff members are top-notch people. If they find that my mother has a problem with something, they call us and let us know. They keep us updated. The cleaning staff comes in and cleans her room and bathroom. Everybody is very friendly and helpful towards my mom. So I can't say anything negative about them. The food looks great. The price just recently increased, but it's very doable."

"The Pines on Carmel was very clean and very handicap accessible. I went to see an area where people could go out and just sit. I would have had to take my wheelchair for something like that instead of walking, but that was perfect. The woman who assisted me was very professional and very caring. She wanted to help me, but it was out of her jurisdiction to help me with my finances. She said she would have to have somebody else call me about that part, but I never got a follow-up call about that. So, I'm assuming that for what I needed, they just couldn't help me. I wasn't stressing over it, though. I was OK with everything. The visit was perfect."

"My mom moved into Brookdale South Charlotte. At first, she was very upset that she was there because she doesn't like being away from home, but she seems to be adjusting well. We've been very impressed with the staff there. They have all been very willing to answer our questions and take our calls because we've called a lot to check on my mom. We got to see her sitting there talking to people and laughing, so it was a good experience. My mom's room is fantastic. She got one of those rooms that are much larger than the regular room. The facility looks fantastic. You can tell it's been recently renovated and updated. They said my mom is eating, so the food must not be too bad, or she wouldn't eat. The dining area is very open with small tables for small groups. It had a homey feel. They have six activities every day, and they transition those around."

"It was a small, clean, and a quiet community. It had an activity room, and it had outside entertainment that they bring in from time to time. The residents are also able to go outside as long as they don't have dementia. They do exercises outside to get some fresh air. They serve 3 meals a day. "

"My father was not the most cooperative resident. We had used a larger facility for 6 years and, when the level of care declined, we found the Post at Mint Hill. It was absolutely the RIGHT CHOICE. Private room, extremely clean, home cooked meals, a smaller staff to resident ratio, easy access for family members 24/7, a great residential setting with room to sit outside or go for a stroll. On top of this their staff was phenomenal, patient, and caring. You can't go wrong with this choice for your loved one!"

"This was my favorite place for mom. Charlotte the owner felt like a sister to me as well as Chenelle, the nurse and Latasha the day health care aid. She really got those ladies moving. It is a small residential environment for women. I think you'll be pleased. Thank you for all you do. Donna."

"Brookdale Weddington Park was an absolutely lovely place. The young lady there that I talked to was just phenomenal. I didn't get to talk to anyone in-depth, but I saw them interacting with the residents. I liked the interaction between the residents and the staff. The only thing about that particular place was there were so many women. I was trying to look for a place with a kind of healthy balance of men and women because I needed my dad to be somewhere where he can kind of relate. The facility was very beautiful and they had very good-sized rooms. When I was leaving, they had a man come. He had his guitar and all the residents came out, the ones that wanted to come out and listen to him play music. The lady who was giving me the tour said that he comes every week, and I like that about it. They had a lot of activities listed; that's one of the things that stood out."

"The Post At Providence has been a Godsend for our parent and our family. Yes, the home is beautiful, comfortable and clean. But it's the caring staff, the friendly residents and their family members who make this a Five Star facility. "I thought TerraBella Harrisburg was very interesting. I didn't have any problems with the tour. They were very friendly. When we walked through, the staff would stop and say 'hey' and greet us. I thought that they were very open and receptive. They didn't have as much open space when you first went in the front area. They had other areas throughout the facility where you could sit and get out of your room a little bit. It was a clean area, though. They had other places where my friend could go and sit. She was interested in reading, and they had a library section, which was very nice. She was glad about that. Overall, I had no problems with it."

"We toured Cadence Huntersville. There were a lot of things that I liked about it, but I liked the friendliness of the staff. I liked the cleanliness of it. I liked all the activities that they had there. It just seems like a very family-orientated community. We did get a chance to meet the chef, and we were very impressed with the chef.
