"I chose MerryWood on Park because the location is very good. It's close to my family. The people that worked there and the administrators were just super nice and had been there a long time, like the chef has been there for 30 years. They were all very professional, but super nice and helpful. I met a good bit of the residents when I toured, and I went back several times. I had lunch there and the residents were very friendly, came over to the table, introduced themselves, even sat down with me to talk, just very friendly, and it seemed like they were all happy to be there. The apartments and everything were small, a little bit smaller than I would have originally wanted, but I'm ready to do some downsizing because of how nice they keep the place. And they were doing improvements. They have other things planned for improvement. The people and atmosphere were very pleasant and the location was just perfect. The food was great. You get three meals a day."

"My mother-in-law has been living at Brookdale Carriage Club Providence memory care for three months now. The place is nice. They have a bird and a dog that go around. The atmosphere of the place is OK. The staff is really nice, helpful, and friendly. The rooms are very small but cute. They have a community room where a lot of activities go on, and they have books in a little section where they can read and play some games."

"When we toured Providence Meadows Gracious Retirement Living, we met with the head manager and another female staff. They both led us on a tour of the whole facility and that was quite enlightening. We saw several different types of rooms, a one-bedroom, one-bedroom deluxe, and two different types of two-bedrooms. They all would serve us well if we were to go there. We saw some of the residents that were involved in an exercise situation. They also had a place where they could play poker/card games. There was a pool table and a rec room where they were doing physical therapy. The facility was excellent and well taken care of."

"I have visited here many times though the years; during my visits, I still see many of the same staff I first met many years ago! Makes me feel good knowing that these care givers must really enjoy what they do and love the residents they care for--It Shows! The staff and residents are always very friendly and go out of their way when I have questions. I highly recommend The Gardens and commend their staff for the love and compassion they possess. "

"What I liked about Brooke Pointe Manor Apartments was that it's very secure. You can't just walk in. You have to have a code to get in. I also liked that it's very affordable. The lady that showed me the apartment, Beth, was very nice and very knowledgeable. She showed me the one that I would get if I qualified for it. It's a one-bedroom and one bath unit with a living room and kitchen. They have a laundry facility, a community room on each floor with a TV (if you want to get together with people to watch a movie or something), as well as hookups in each apartment for your own washer-dryer if you don't want to use the laundry facility. It's very clean. They have a nice area in the lobby where you can visit if you don't want to go up to your apartment."

"I've been at Taylor Glen for over ten years now. We have a hundred acres, and it's beautifully landscaped. It has an indoor pool, a library, and a post office. We have a bank even that comes one day a week. We have a dining room and then a cafe. We have entertainment that comes in. We have also assisted living, a memory care and even total health care at the other end of the campus, but it's all connected. It's all within the same building. We don't have to go outside to go to those. The biggest minus and it's probably true everywhere, they've had trouble keeping enough employees to take care of everything. Other than that, I feel like we're sort of one big family. People are very friendly and we make good friends. We enjoy eating with different people at dinner. We've just finally got enough housekeepers. They clean the bathrooms and kitchen and just lightly go over the rest of the apartment, but at least they come every week and they finally have enough help there. We had maintenance coming over the last few days. We've had our air-conditioning unit went out. They just hired a new chef and a sous-chef, and they're doing a very nice job. I think we're having more help than we had before. The person that's over the whole independent living here just moved up from another position and she's very personable and tries her best to do things that need correcting. We're very happy to have her. They are getting ready to build probably through the next year some villas and independent houses. They have something brand new for memory. My biggest concern with these people coming in more than the space for them to come down and have all the same things we have now would be enough help to take care of these new people. There's a lot of staff that are really good, but some that are not as good. The management staff is a five-star. The new manager is really trying her best to turn things around. I'm on the food committee and they list things of what we have to say to improve. The food could be a little better but it's much better than it has been in the past. My blood work has been very good and I used to have high cholesterol and my blood pressure fluctuates and all that has improved in the last year. I feel like our food has gotten much better than it was. I'm pretty pleased with it now. You can have your own garden. We have a woodworking shop and crafts rooms. We have an auditorium and a chapel. There's a lot of good things in the facility here. We have a washer and dryer in our room. We don't have to go down the hall to do our clothes and that's a big plus to me. We have quite a few people that come and some that they pay and some that volunteer. They have crafts that they make things for the people down in healthcare. They have a van where they take people out once a week to shop at the grocery store and out eating. They go get apples or take strawberries or just a good variety of things they do on those outings. This is like a buy-in thing. You pay big bucks upfront, but then you sign a contract with them and they agree to take care of you until you die whether you run out of money or not. To me, it's pretty expensive, but in today's value, seeing other facilities like this, we're probably right in line there or maybe less than some."

"Symphony Park - Luxury Independent Senior Living Resort is top of the line. There isn't anything that I didn't like about it. It is nice. The staff is a very diverse group. The place is immaculate. The atmosphere of it was like a breath of fresh air. It was nice. The rooms were a little larger than most. It felt spacious. They have two restaurants in that building, and they were nice and top-of-the-line."

"I found this to be a great facility. My grandmother is not a very social person, and she felt pretty lost after my grandfather's death, right before they were due to move into the Pines. The staff are courteous and caring, and she has made friends with the other residents. She also enjoys the many amenities that the Pines offers, including but not limited to varied menus, hairdressers on site, classes like yoga and aerobics, frequent guest speakers, and movies on weekends. "

"We toured Williams Place Gracious Retirement Living. I liked it best that it was friendly. They had just remodeled, so it was very updated and attractive. The manager and his wife, who run the place, were the ones who gave us the tour. Then we met Sona, and they were both very informative and gave us a lot of information. We were able to see some of the rooms. We saw the kitchen downstairs where you can make a meal. I did not like that your kitchen had no burners to make tea. You had to rely on the microwave."

"I live in Charlotte Spring, and it is a nice place. It is quiet and clean. It is like an apartment with two bedrooms -- just what I need. It is not too big, not too small. It is just right. There are activities available if I choose to go to them. If they want to live here and they have apartments available, I would recommend it to others and they might as well move in. "

"I visited The Glens, and I put my application in there. Everybody that I met was very nice. It was bright and cheery. It was in a wonderful location and in a very nice neighborhood. It was close to shopping. There were villas and duplexes which were spacious. This was very satisfactory because it was pleasing and they would take care of all of your maintenance for you. "
