"I visited countless facilities prior to choosing Gardens of Statesville for my mom. Although it was a hard decision to place mom in an Assisted Living Facility, myself along with my family decided I could no longer provide the care she needed at home mainly for her own safety. The moment I walked into the Gardens a calm came over me. The rooms are spacious, we were even able to bring mom’s furniture so it feels like home, not institutional. The pandemic has of course put a damper on visitation, activities but the team makes every effort to engage residents in daily activities. They follow all guidelines to keep residents and themselves safe. For that I am grateful. They keep me informed via email or phone calls with anything to do with Mom or The Gardens in general. We receive a Monthly Newsletter keeping us informed on activities as well and menu which has so many options available. They even have an iPad for the team to bring to mom and FaceTime family during these tough times! "They've got friendly people at Spring Arbor of Albemarle. The place was pretty clean. The staff seemed nice. The lady that gave me the tour was very nice. They have a game room where they can play board games and watch TV. They have a library. They got books in the game room, too. They have transportation. They take them to certain places."

"Cadence Huntersville was fantastic. I got to tour their assisted living, but I also spent probably 40 minutes in a sit-down meeting with them and I was impressed. It has the flexibility if my mother had to go into memory care, for my dad to come to see her if they had to be separated. I like that option. Dad would also have that option to sign himself out for the day and come back in with flexibility. So, there are a lot of things that would work for my parents. They have a salon and barbershop depending on what day of the week it is because they don't have the barbershop all week long. They have groups that they take out to go shopping and things like that but I don't think my parents will be using that. The place felt very homey. "

"My aunt is now in Cadence at Clemmons. They were very well staffed, everything was very organized, it was very clean, and she's very happy there. The staff helped with the entire transition, since I'm in New Hampshire and my aunt is in North Carolina. They really just helped with everything in getting her there. She was saying that the food is not excellent, but it's OK and she's fine with it. They have five activities per day, and she takes part in all of them. It's a newer building; they have a nice porch and outdoor area."

"My father is in memory care at Peninsula Family Care Home, and it's very good. The rooms were very nice, furnished, and very clean. This is a small six-bed family home. It has a family room, a bedroom, a kitchen, and a breakfast area. The staff is very good. Because it's small with only six beds, it's very individualized type of care. There are no amenities. They have some activities that they try to do with the residents, such as playing some games or doing puzzles or something, but it's not like your typical assisted living that has 100 beds or so."

"I toured Denver Family Care Home. It was just a house with six people and a caretaker. It was absolutely lovely and so pristine. The person who is the 14-day on and 14-day off staff member who was present was wonderful, available, and informative. She didn't even know we were coming. The residents were clean. Their rooms were clean. The house was clean. Everyone was eating and having breakfast and going about their day. It's very organized. It's a lovely place. I wish it was a good fit for my father-in-law, but unfortunately not. If he needed assisted living, it would be perfect."
