"It is the only place that would take my husband in. He suffers from depression and all kinds of physical problems. But he seems to be happy now. The staff is very helpful. They have very good meals. It's like a restaurant. They fix whatever he wants and he picks it out. "

"I liked White Oak Manor; it has nice appeal. It's smaller, smelled good, had lots of windows, and the residents looked clean and happy. From what I saw in a short visit, I would give it five stars compared to the other ones that I have seen. The staff was very friendly and informative, let me walk around, and showed me everything. It was small and had a comfortable feel; nobody was screaming or uncomfortable. The residents looked like they were at ease. I was there right about lunch time, so everybody was moving toward the dining room, and it looked nice. If we bring Mom to this area, this is where she will go. "

"They were OK at Wilora Lake Healthcare Center. I think my mother-in-law got pretty good care. They just had rooms that were pretty tight and were all semi-private. The location was fine; it was just right down the hill from where my father-in-law was, so that made it convenient. It needed a lot of upgrading. "

"I explored Sharon Towers and was interested in them, but since they’re building right now, it is about a year to a year and a half before they will have anything ready. The facilities are very, very nice. Everything is good there, but they did not take note of my long-term care policy, which will roughly pay for everything I need if I need long-term care. The atmosphere was very pleasant, though. I did not see any of the rooms because they did not have everything available. I have seen the floor plans, so I have an idea of what they have. The staff and everybody that I met were very professional and very pleasant. It would be a good place to go, but it was a bit more expensive by comparison to other facilities. The facility itself would be a good 4 or 5 stars. They have some older buildings and some newer buildings. I think some of the newer buildings would be much more pleasant. Everything is very easily managed. The hallways were all large, and there were plenty of rooms for several people to move through easily, especially if they have walkers. "

"My brother is at Clear Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The staff seems nice, friendly, and helpful. They have a pretty good rapport with the people there. You don't have that typical overpowering nursing home smell when you walk in. They keep it clean. They had a Halloween party and early Thanksgiving supper a couple of weeks ago. They play bingo every week and there are other activities as well."

"I visited this facility with a friend whose Grandmother was a resident. It's set in a gorgeous location, right in the heart of Southpark. The grounds are amazing, with plenty of open space, ponds, walking trails, and greenery everywhere. The building is also very new, modern, and completely updated. My friend's Grandmother was staying in a semi-private room at Stewart. Though it was not private, the room was spacious and she felt that she was well matched with her roommate. The staff were very attentive in helping with housekeeping and personal care. Her room was very neat and clean at each visit and I never noticed any odors. The staff in general were very friendly and helpful. In particular, the activities coordinator seemed to really enjoy working with the residents. The calendar offered arts and crafts, exercise classes, and other such activities giving plenty of opportunities for socialization and sensory stimulation. The only downside I could see to this facility is they do not accept Medicaid patients. That might prevent it from being an option for some, but for those who can afford it (or can use Medicare dollars for short term stays) it remains a good option. I would recommend this facility. My friend's Grandmother seemed very happy there and I always felt as if her care was excellent. "

"It was a large facility, and the staff was nice, but not very specific for people who have dementia. They had a big yard, and they did outdoor activities. They had a very clean kitchen and dining room. I would recommend someone to go to Peak Resources if they have early dementia or for assisted living, but not the later stage of dementia. "

"My mom is in her 4th week of rehab at Asbury, and though no place is perfect, this place is practically perfect in every way. (I will do the best I can with names.) The doctor (Gambino) and physician's assistant (Eickert) are extremely approachable, caring, kind, and competent. The head of Rehab (Steve) is a caring, efficient, and a good listener. The therapists are brought in from a single outside agency (which as an SLP myself, I prefer) If a therapist's personality doesn't mesh with a resident, there are other therapists. The only negative we faced was having all of the therapies at once in the mornings and nothing all afternoon, though activities are offered. The food is "restaurant average" to 5 star amazing with 2 choices for each meal... and they will fix a grilled cheese any time for a picky eater. Asbury also gives one meal per day to a resident's guest which makes the dining hall feel more like a restaurant... and I have never eaten a better Reuben on artisan bread, egg salad on croissant, or clam chowder. ANYWHERE! The nurses are stellar and responsive. The CNA's are mostly on task and available. The rooms are new, clean, PRIVATE, and 1st rate. Kristen, our case manager was always available and accessible. Transportation is provided at no cost to outside appointments. The receptionists are all so warm and engaging, but getting into the various locked wings could be less challenging. Staff have to go out of their way to let you in and out, and they are not always available. By telling the receptionist which hall you are heading to, helps them be more aware to admit you remotely. The Chaplain, Denise, is warm and caring. Blondie, the therapy scheduler, and Sean in the front office are professional and efficient. Giving respect to the staff (as one should) pays dividends! "

"Pavilion Health Center at Brightmore was really lovely and would have been a perfect fit for mom. They had 24-hour nursing care and assisted living side by side. The accommodations were lovely, beautiful, and included a contemporary fireplace, white linen tablecloths in the dining room, was very clean, very spacious, and extremely welcoming. It put me at peace there. They even had a refrigerator in the semi-private rooms for the residents to share, which was a nice touch. "

"I visited a friend in rehab at Pruitthealth Union Pointe, a nursing home in Monroe. The place was clean and well-kept, with friendly staff. My friend was there short-term for rehab and they have hands-on physical therapy. My friend seemed happy with the rehab placement and their care there. The room my friend was in was great. It's a good size and spacious."

"My mom is in Hunter Woods Nursing and Rehab. It's a really nice place. Even though COVID cut down some of the workers, she's well taken care of. The staff is really nice and courteous. Her room is like a regular hospital room with two residents in there, but I like the fact that she has someone to talk to. They keep the room clean every day. They go in there every day, give her a bath, and they make sure she gets her medicine. The only thing is they have weak WiFi, but it's good that they have it. Even though they're short of workers, they still do an outstanding job."

"Saturn Skilled Nursing Facility proved to be a great place for my Mom. One thing I struggled with was placing my Mom in 24 hour skilled care. However, the reality was I could not tend to her needs the way she needed. My search was long, but I settled with two facilities that scored high in their ratings. When I visited Saturn the first thing I noticed was the smiles on not only the patients but more importantly the staff. They seemed to love their job. That was a winner for me. It proved to be a good choice for my Mom. Mom told me consistently how she was being well taken care of and more importantly respected. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone. They took good care of Mom and provided not only the care she needed, but was loved by the staff. Keep up the good work Saturn Staff, your kindness and attention to detail to your patients is greatly appreciated."
