"I chose Autumn Care in Marshville for my mother. During COVID, it's kind of hard to have an experience. We just dropped her at the door, and that was it. It looked like a really clean place, and well-kept. Everything that was there, they delighted and asked. Everybody that I've talked there answered all my questions; they did pretty much that we asked them to. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anybody. The people that I have met were wonderful, and as far as I know, my mom had been happy with the food."

"I was a patient of Royal Park 3 years ago. My husband was a patient there in August 2019. We both had excellent experiences. The staff is friendly and very professional. From nutse supervisory to cleaners. The PT staff work dilegently to help you. The food was acceptecal. The rooms clean and very roomy. Our time there was more than we could have imagend. "The nursing home that she is in is White Oak of Waxhaw. They are outstanding care and service. I've actually used this facility several times for other family members as well. Highly recommended, and that is why we keep going back as we need to. It is a very large room, very private, and very clean. She's got everything she needs. Each community has its own dining room. The food is OK; it has had its good days and bad days like any place, but she is happy there. They have a kitchen area in their dining area that is stocked with ice-cream in snacks form and drinks that are free and open to the residents. They always have a party or a get-together going on. They are always playing Bingo or other social events. The staff is incredible, and they are very caring. They follow up with you, and they stay in touch. Even after she went home the last time, they stayed in touch with her. They are just very generous and concerned about her care. "

"Carrington Place is nice, but I didn't have all the care that I needed for him. We need a little bit more than assisted living. We need a lot of therapy. I think the biggest problem is he has a bag because they removed his lower intestine. He has a colostomy bag that calls for a nurse because he doesn't know how to change it. It calls for a little bit more than just assisted living right now. "

"My brother is at Clear Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The staff seems nice, friendly, and helpful. They have a pretty good rapport with the people there. You don't have that typical overpowering nursing home smell when you walk in. They keep it clean. They had a Halloween party and early Thanksgiving supper a couple of weeks ago. They play bingo every week and there are other activities as well."

"The Pavilion Health Center is close to my house. The staff has been excellent with my husband. They have very nice rooms, and they have a lot of activities. They play cards and bingo, and they have bible study. Through Christmas, they have a lot of entertainment with people coming in playing Christmas music. The dining room is nice. The whole place is new, and it is a nice place to be. It is decorated nicely, and the food is reasonable. "

"I recently rehabbed at Sardis Oaks following a hip replacement. The rehabilitation staff and facility are excellent. The nursing staff is competent and communicative. The administration and caseworkers went above and beyond to ensure that I received the time required for rehabilitation and that I had a good next step upon discharge. The food was typically institutional but options are available and the dietary staff made certain to deal with my unusual food allergy. The is a great place to go after your surgery. "

"It is the only place that would take my husband in. He suffers from depression and all kinds of physical problems. But he seems to be happy now. The staff is very helpful. They have very good meals. It's like a restaurant. They fix whatever he wants and he picks it out. "

"They were OK at Wilora Lake Healthcare Center. I think my mother-in-law got pretty good care. They just had rooms that were pretty tight and were all semi-private. The location was fine; it was just right down the hill from where my father-in-law was, so that made it convenient. It needed a lot of upgrading. "

"I liked White Oak Manor; it has nice appeal. It's smaller, smelled good, had lots of windows, and the residents looked clean and happy. From what I saw in a short visit, I would give it five stars compared to the other ones that I have seen. The staff was very friendly and informative, let me walk around, and showed me everything. It was small and had a comfortable feel; nobody was screaming or uncomfortable. The residents looked like they were at ease. I was there right about lunch time, so everybody was moving toward the dining room, and it looked nice. If we bring Mom to this area, this is where she will go. "

"The Sharon at SouthPark was very nice. I visited a friend there. I like the cleanliness, the residents' suites, the activities that they have for the residents, and the community areas. Everyone is very nice and very helpful. As we were trying to locate my friend, they were very nice. Everyone knew each other. They were polite in the halls. In the community areas, they all talked and spoke and offered good cordials. I haven't heard any complaints about the food from my friend, and they have amenities, too. They have an art class, there's a dance, there's church services, and there's a library as well. I'm pretty sure they have so much more because I think there are activities every day. It's very nice and maybe it is worth the money, but it's too much. They offer a lot, but I just wish the cost of these facilities could be a little bit more affordable for people who don't have all of the means to take care of their loved ones. However, it is a very cozy and very homey atmosphere, and I think the residents all enjoy it and enjoy each other."

"I visited this facility with a friend whose Grandmother was a resident. It's set in a gorgeous location, right in the heart of Southpark. The grounds are amazing, with plenty of open space, ponds, walking trails, and greenery everywhere. The building is also very new, modern, and completely updated. My friend's Grandmother was staying in a semi-private room at Stewart. Though it was not private, the room was spacious and she felt that she was well matched with her roommate. The staff were very attentive in helping with housekeeping and personal care. Her room was very neat and clean at each visit and I never noticed any odors. The staff in general were very friendly and helpful. In particular, the activities coordinator seemed to really enjoy working with the residents. The calendar offered arts and crafts, exercise classes, and other such activities giving plenty of opportunities for socialization and sensory stimulation. The only downside I could see to this facility is they do not accept Medicaid patients. That might prevent it from being an option for some, but for those who can afford it (or can use Medicare dollars for short term stays) it remains a good option. I would recommend this facility. My friend's Grandmother seemed very happy there and I always felt as if her care was excellent. "

"My mom is in her 4th week of rehab at Asbury, and though no place is perfect, this place is practically perfect in every way. (I will do the best I can with names.) The doctor (Gambino) and physician's assistant (Eickert) are extremely approachable, caring, kind, and competent. The head of Rehab (Steve) is a caring, efficient, and a good listener. The therapists are brought in from a single outside agency (which as an SLP myself, I prefer) If a therapist's personality doesn't mesh with a resident, there are other therapists. The only negative we faced was having all of the therapies at once in the mornings and nothing all afternoon, though activities are offered. The food is "restaurant average" to 5 star amazing with 2 choices for each meal... and they will fix a grilled cheese any time for a picky eater. Asbury also gives one meal per day to a resident's guest which makes the dining hall feel more like a restaurant... and I have never eaten a better Reuben on artisan bread, egg salad on croissant, or clam chowder. ANYWHERE! The nurses are stellar and responsive. The CNA's are mostly on task and available. The rooms are new, clean, PRIVATE, and 1st rate. Kristen, our case manager was always available and accessible. Transportation is provided at no cost to outside appointments. The receptionists are all so warm and engaging, but getting into the various locked wings could be less challenging. Staff have to go out of their way to let you in and out, and they are not always available. By telling the receptionist which hall you are heading to, helps them be more aware to admit you remotely. The Chaplain, Denise, is warm and caring. Blondie, the therapy scheduler, and Sean in the front office are professional and efficient. Giving respect to the staff (as one should) pays dividends! "
