My sister is at Lake Park Nursing Center. It's a nice, well-kept facility that had some renovations. They have some private and semi-private rooms. The staff is very caring, very friendly, and take good care of the residents. They have bingo, church services, singers come in, Christmas parties, paint their fingernails, and have a forum for people who have suggestions.

I was directed there after 8 days in the hospital for congestive heart failure. My legs had need of exercise after laying in bed for that time. I arrived about 4 pm and was admitted. My son and I listened to the explanation of registration and my son left for work. A therapist came to the room and asked me to walk, step, lift legs etc. I asked how she thought I did and she said good. I then asked if we would start on machines in the morning and she said, “NO, YOU ARE IN QUARENTINE FOR THE NEXT FOURTEEN DAYS. YOU NEVER HAD THE VACCINE SHOT” It was at this point I went ballistic. I was never informed that I would be in quarantine because I never had the “clot shot”, I agreed to stay overnight and release myself AMA, against medical advice. I am still considering a lawsuit. Beware of this place.

Since the facility changed owners back in 2015 The care has the worst I have ever seen. Residents falling out of bed, Left in dirty diapers for extended periods , just plain old poor care. They have put profits ahead of the care. They cannot even follow guide lines with the state. Over billing is continuous and you never know cause they make sure you do not see full billing. If you care about your loved ones please find a different facility

I called Department of Social Services on this facility after my mother spent more than 12 hours in a soiled adult diaper. One day my father and I walked around the facility for 20 minutes before we found someone who worked there to help. Mom had been calling for help since before dawn with no response. My mother was there for rehabilitation and did not receive PT until her fourth or fifth day in the facility. Needless to say, we are not working with them anymore.

My mom was there at Lake Park Nursing Center for almost two years. Their previous director did not work. They have a new director, and I don't know if she is better or worse. They have a rehab section and nursing and Dementia sections. My mom was in the rehab side which is the nicer side. When you came in, they only showed you the rehab. I don't know why or maybe it was my fault too, because I never really ventured in the other side where the actual nursing is located. The Dementia side is not something that is open to the public. There was no problem with the rehab side because she was OK there, but when they moved her to the nursing, it was just different. As for the food, the rehab side seems to have warmer food. To me, they seem to have better food, but when they move them into the nursing, it was OK food. I think the bottom line is sometimes they have so many people, and they are under staffed. When they are under staffed, they can't take care of older people as well as maybe you would like. Maybe they were trying to do the best they could, but you can only do so much. There are days when I thought the director really did very good job. I think management has to be in charge of making sure that his staff is doing the best they can. But how can you be understaffed and still provide the care that you want to give?

My sister is at Lake Park Center. They have been doing fine with her. My sister does have some mental handicaps, but they have been able to work with her, and she has been getting good care. She seems to be very content there. I know they have bingo and other kinds of games, but she is not able to partake in that. As far as the skilled nursing, they're fine. They're always on call when you need them. My sister does need assistance going to the bathroom, and she has always had it. I have no complaints in that area either. They have several lunch rooms. I believe they have a meeting room, but there is no pool there. Cleanliness-wise, they're excellent. They are always making sure things are clean and taken care of. There is no odor anywhere in the place, and they're good with their kitchen facilities and everything. The food is delivered all the time. If you can't go to the cafeteria, the food is delivered bed-side. They do have some private rooms, and the others are double. My sister is in a room with another patient. My husband is in a private room. My sister has been there two months already, and my husband has just been there three days. I can't complain of anything that has gone on since my sister's been there.

Lake Park Nursing & Rehabilitation Center doesn't even deserve a one star. This place keeps it either so hot, or too cold. The elderly rides around in their wheel chairs with ear muffs on, big coats on. I tried to get them to warm it up for my mother, and everyone said they could not touch the thermostat. Well, someone there had a key after all, however, not for all of them. Only after I got upset and threatened to take my mother out, is when they found the one lady. Then called the maintenance man to come in and adjust them.. They truly don't care about how the elderly is cared for. My heart and soul could not work their daily and see what goes on. Some nurses actually care, and clean up the beds and do as their duty requires. Others never changes the sheets, just dabbles in there and leaves. Not doing their job. So, if the staff of the help who actually tends to the patients are not doing their jobs, that means the people who run it, manage it, and own it isn't doing their jobs. I would never ever place anyone in this facility! This place stinks, and the bathroom has a terrible aroma, they NEVER CLEAN INSIDE THE TOILET! ONLY POUR SOLUTION AND FLUSH IT!!! ITS HORRIFIC ODOR!!! I could say a lot more that is horrific, however, now you know the certain little wrongness this place provides! You've been warned! DO NOT USE LAKE PARK NURSING & REHAB CENTER, in Indian Trail, NC!
