"I chose MerryWood on Park because the location is very good. It's close to my family. The people that worked there and the administrators were just super nice and had been there a long time, like the chef has been there for 30 years. They were all very professional, but super nice and helpful. I met a good bit of the residents when I toured, and I went back several times. I had lunch there and the residents were very friendly, came over to the table, introduced themselves, even sat down with me to talk, just very friendly, and it seemed like they were all happy to be there. The apartments and everything were small, a little bit smaller than I would have originally wanted, but I'm ready to do some downsizing because of how nice they keep the place. And they were doing improvements. They have other things planned for improvement. The people and atmosphere were very pleasant and the location was just perfect. The food was great. You get three meals a day."

"There was nothing I didn't like. Everything was great. It had a very nice movie theater, and the facility was just recently built. The staff who assisted me with the tour was very informative, very helpful, and accommodating."

"I chose to move to The Senior Villages because my top priority was that it was close to my job, and I like how they set it up. It's not a place where people come in and do whatever they want. They have strict rules and regulations. There's no smoking inside the apartments, and if you do you are jeopardizing the apartment; you can get terminated from there. It's a nice, little community. Everybody minds their business, and they do a lot of little daily activities with the seniors who are not working. I like it a whole lot. The staff there is very professional. They own their job. They make their rounds and make sure everything is running according to protocol. If you need any assistance, you can freely go up there and they'll take their time and walk you through and explain what it is you're trying to search for. If they don't have the information they will get it for you. I respect their professionalism and how they function. They keep the facility very clean. It's like 900 square feet. You have a nice, big living room, a spacious kitchen, a big bedroom, and a bathroom. Each apartment has a patio that can hold about four or five individuals. It's a nice community, plus it's gated. You make your own meals, and everybody cooks their own food inside their own apartments. A lot of people go to food pantries to get what they need. They supply you with all the new information, they have meetings and group sessions with the church, and other things, but I don't participate in them. They have a nice gazebo, a lounge, washers and dryers, and a pool. You don't pay an electric bill, you don't pay a gas bill, and they give you free basic cable. That's excellent."

"As over 55 grandparents, we were always planning to move closer to our daughter and her family. We spotted this construction site while visiting her family in December of 2020. With it only about 15 minutes from her home,we were immediately excited to use the contact number at the site to obtain more information. Julie was our first contact. She is responsive, thorough and welcoming to our multiple questions. The RLC is exactly what we’d hope for our next transition. We were able to visit a completed “sister” facility in a city close to us. Eric was very patient, answered all our questions and gave us the needed visual we require to seal the deal. We’ve also already attended a meet and greet in the area. We met Julie and other potential residents. We are very excited for Spring of 2022. Not as excited as our 7 y.o. granddaughter, who cried with joy when her mom told her we were moving so close."

"We liked pretty much everything about our tour of The Blake at Baxter Village. We like the way it looks, the program, the atmosphere, the age of the people, and the services that they offer. It seems to be a well-run place, and a well-put together place. It will serve my mother and what her needs are now. I was able to meet with the director who was very thorough on what she did. From what I viewed and saw, the facility had a lot of things that they could offer the people. I also looked in the room, they had a salon, they had a courtyard, an art room, and a movie theater."

"The overall community of Shads Landing looked really nice. It was friendly and warm, and the staff seemed like they were all caring people. A couple of my family members went with me, and we had a delicious meal there, and we also were entertained by a community of people who had come in and were booked for entertainment. It's a great place, and I'd certainly recommend it. They have a regular schedule of activities that is set up every month. As a matter of fact, I have a communication here in front of me, and it shows for the month of March -- which was when I went to visit -- that there are everyday activities from morning until early evening. Every Monday, they have different things: Hooks and Needles which is one group, sing-along, and another group, Count Your Blessings. And they have bingo every evening on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from the calendar here. They are interspersed throughout the month with different things. They have card games and bowling; you can name it, and you are going to see something on the calendar of activities for the people. It was a wonderful experience. The staff was definitely caring, not only for its residents, but for us visitors as we came in, and they afforded us all the amenities that were occurring during that day that we could participate in. It was just a wonderful place. "

"We love it. Mom is there now and she is waiting on the room that she's getting refurbished. She likes it too, so we're very happy with it. She'll have her furniture moved. The food has been wonderful. A lady named Mary stayed with her when she got sick until the ambulance got there. I have nothing but praise for her. Mom pushed the button and they came. We're very satisfied with it. She enjoys the food. They do crafts and they go on outings, they have happy hour, people come in and sing, and they have ice cream socials. The facility is very good."

"We toured Holiday Crescent Heights. The staff was very helpful, and they gave us an excellent tour. We got to look at three excellent apartments. My sister said it's nice, and it has a nice smell. It was around lunchtime so you could smell the cooking, too. The staff invited us to come back to have lunch sometime if we wanted to, and she invited us anytime to take another tour, and just give them a call. They were very accommodating, and they were just wonderful. We liked that they had laundry rooms which are right there on the floors; that was very handy. We were very excited that the meal plan was included. Every place else I looked, it was extra for a meal plan, and this one had three meals a day. It's wonderful because my sister doesn't cook. It was pet friendly, and she has two cats that she would never leave. Everything, all the accommodations, the travel, the transportation to the doctors and groceries and stuff like that was nice. It just had everything included in the price."

"We went to Arbor Ridge at Huntersville, and we were very pleased, but their rooms were tiny. It was a very nice community. It was new. They were friendly. It's just that the room sizes were too small. The staff who gave the tour was very nice and informative."

"We toured Matthews Glen yesterday. Outstanding. It was very impressive. if you're active, there are all kinds of things to do, all kinds of clubs. It has expanded and they're doing even more expansion. So one half of the campus is a little older, but the other parts of the campus are brand new, and they're gorgeous. The apartments look like something out of Southern Living magazine. They're just very attractive and very well done. This is also one with the bigger ticket buying, where you're paying for your health care when you come into the community. But they have three different tiers of pricing there. One is if you want to get some of that money back for your heirs, you can do that if you don't want any of it back you can. And they also have a program for people with long-term care insurance that has a much significantly lower buy-in price. So that is also attractive. It's a great place. There is a much wider selection of floor plans there as well. They have several pools. There's an indoor pool, there are outdoor heated pools. There are chlorinated pools and saltwater pools. They have physical fitness staff there in the rooms to help you develop a program. The staff, a young man, but importantly, he seemed to know everybody that lived in the place, which I think is fantastic. I think they had something like 800 residents in that one, something to that effect. But he was just saying hi, on a first name basis. The staff was tremendously helpful and friendly."

"I've put a deposit down for Windsor Run to hold an apartment for me: a two-bedroom unit, but I did not go the third step, where you deposit 10% of the cost of the unit. It's a beautiful facility. The sales force and the chefs are top-notch. I ate there several times, and the food was delicious. It was just the affordability. At this time, I do not want to put a good portion of my available cash into a unit. I would like to save part of that to travel and so on until I need senior living. Then I would definitely consider going back to Windsor Run to check out their prices. The staff was very knowledgeable, very professional, and very informative. There was no pressure from them. It's very clean and well-maintained. There are new sections being built at this time. They have long hallways going to elevators."

"Overture Providence 55+ Apartment Homes is very modern. It's a beautiful facility. It's a convenient walking distance to shopping and restaurants, so location played a big part in why we chose them. My parents wanted to be close to things, so they wouldn't always need a car. And it's also affordable. The apartments are spacious and well laid out. They have beautiful standard-sized kitchens that you would have in townhomes or regular homes. They have an extra storage closet. You can rent storage, so when you're downsizing and you're used to having a full-sized home, there may be things you don't want to part with. Not all facilities provide the ability to rent extra storage onsite. They also offer gated secure parking. When my parents are coming in and out, they may not have a garage anymore, but they have a gated parking lot, so they feel safe."
