My mother has moved into Courtland Terrace. She is a long-term care resident. The staff is very caring and attentive. They answer my questions in a timely fashion. It's very clean. The food is good. My mother is pretty much bedridden, so we don't really participate in the activities. They, however, have a wonderful salon, and a salon person that works there that's just really great.

My wife is at Courtland Terrace. They're very caring, and they take good care of you. We have no complaints. They answered all our questions and problems properly. They're a top-notch organization as far as I can see. The food is good, but we can't get my wife to eat very much. We had a conference with the dietitian today and trying to get things more suitable for her. She tends to not eat and lose weight. She has lost several pounds since she's been there, but we're trying to take care of that problem. They have amenities and activities, but my wife hasn't been able to participate. She's bedridden right now. The therapists are working with her. She's getting up from the side of the bed and partially in a standing position, but she's not walking yet. For the most part, the staff is very caring and helpful. The therapists are working hard on the rehab, and hopefully, they'll get her on her feet again or at least in a wheelchair.

We were very impressed with Courtland Terrace. However, the manager was supposed to get back in touch with us when he had space available, but he has not followed up. The rooms were very nice. They're connected with the local hospital. The residents were very well cared for, and everybody seemed to be happy with their surroundings. It seemed to have a good atmosphere.

The facility looks clean. The residents look unhappy. The nursing staff are rude especially an RN named Tammy. I'm a nurse in another state and my aunt is or was here for a couple of weeks until I helped find a more suitable place. Nurses leave charts on their station exposing hippa violations. Some of the nurses in the morning shift do not wear gloves or wash their hands. Seems like several residents are on a contact isolation of some sort. My aunt complained of first shift nurses being mean to her. She also said Tammy the RN yelled at her a few days after she was admitted, because she asked if she could have a shower. The place is not safe in my opinion. The staff seemed to be short handed on evenings. Doug the admissions guy promised a private room and for two weeks we never saw a private room. The first shift nurse was constantly on her cell phone while at her med cart. I felt my aunt deserved better than the care that she received at courtland terrace. I spoke with the DON Adrian about concerns and feel she was trying to push me away instead of communicating about these concerns. Save yourself from the trouble and find a better suited facility to take care of your loved ones
