"My father was at Lincolnton Rehabilitation Center. He stayed there for 24 days, and they took good care of him. In the last week, they even took good care of me because I stayed with him the whole time until he passed. The staff was very good and very caring. The food was good. The facilities were top-notch. It was clean and well-kept up."

"We got the personal feeling from Peak Resource Shelby. It is a small skilled nursing facility that has a short term rehabilitation unit with there own therapist. They have great staff that are very caring and not changing with new faces all the time. Food was good and they have a Peak Café menu that you can make selections for each meal. We would highly recommend. "

"The food was very good that we had for lunch. It did not have that institutional taste that you get sometimes at places. The fried chicken was very good, which is what we had for lunch. The place also had a very open feel to it and did not seem as dark or dreary as some can be. The residents seemed happy. The place was also very clean and sanitary. My only interaction with the staff was with the social workers, there were some issue with my friend (not anything serious). They were all very helpful and nice. I would have my own parents stay here if they needed and would feel comfortable with them being residents at this facility. One thing that stood out was that the place does not feel like it is on lockdown or that it is not open to the public. Guest such as me are not treated as strangers nor are they interrogated as to why they are there. Overall great experience. "

"All in all, I would have to say that Boger City Rest home is pretty awesome. We had our doubts at first as we were use to being around my grandmother all of the time, but with the fact that everyone worked and no one was able to move in with her full time to help take care of her, we visited many facilities and Boger City Rest Home gave us the peace of mind of placing her in a living assisted establishment. My mom and dad were very vigilant about visiting often and still are to ensure that proper guidelines were being followed and up until now everything is fine. When I visited, my grandmother seemed very happy, not as happy as she would be as she would be at home, however very happy. I love the fact that she now feels a sense of community and has made very many friends at the Boger City Rest home. It gives my family and I peace of mind knowing that she still has certain freedoms, but has those freedoms with a 24 hour staff that is always there to take care of any situation that may arise. The only negative thing that I have to say, is that this is not a smoke free facility, while no smoking takes place inside, they still allow residents and employees to smoke outside. Overall this has been a very positive experience for my family and I and we would absolutely refer someone to use Boger City Rest home. They have a very friendly and informative staff that always has a smile on their face. I am grateful for them and the level of service they provide for my grandmother. "

"I went to a place called Alexandria Place, and I was unimpressed with it. I think it is an older place to begin with, and it just wasn't where you want to place somebody if you can help it. The rooms are old, and it looks like a depressing place. I wasn't impressed with the people. You can just tell whether they are friendly or not. These people were more business-like, and I didn't feel like he would be happy there. I didn't see much of anything going on for the people. "

"I am at Bel-Air for rehab this is a wonderful place a wonderful staff is clean everyone's nice to you the health care is great the rehab is wonderful if I had to stay here long-term I'd pick this place every day of the week and twice on Sunday I would just like to thank that staff at bel air for all they do thank you"

"My wife is at Courtland Terrace. They're very caring, and they take good care of you. We have no complaints. They answered all our questions and problems properly. They're a top-notch organization as far as I can see. The food is good, but we can't get my wife to eat very much. We had a conference with the dietitian today and trying to get things more suitable for her. She tends to not eat and lose weight. She has lost several pounds since she's been there, but we're trying to take care of that problem. They have amenities and activities, but my wife hasn't been able to participate. She's bedridden right now. The therapists are working with her. She's getting up from the side of the bed and partially in a standing position, but she's not walking yet. For the most part, the staff is very caring and helpful. The therapists are working hard on the rehab, and hopefully, they'll get her on her feet again or at least in a wheelchair. "

"Stanley T.L.C. provides all levels of care from independent living with small apartments and optional meal plans to skilled care facilities all under one roof. My mother-in-law lived well and happily there for about 6 years before dying last year at 100 years old. The staff/guest ratio is excellent with compassionate staff and skilled caregivers in an uplifting and pleasant environment. There are multiple daily activities, stimulation, and celebrations available for guests. The facility is sparkling clean. The food was healthy and nutritious. There is wonderful spiritual support regardless of religious affiliation. The pricing of the facility was within a reasonable range of affordability. They have some Medicaid beds available for financially challenged individuals. All guests are treated equally and with respect and have individualized care.. We were blessed to be able to get a spot there for my mother-in-law and could not have been happier with the care she received in both assisted living and skilled care during her last years. We would have no reservations recommending Stanley Total Living Center to anyone. "

"My mom is still in rehab at The Ivy at Gastonia. With Covid, we are not allowed in, but everything seems fine and everybody has been really helpful. I have seen the outside and it's an older place, but it is well kept and clean. She was on quarantine for two weeks, so she wasn't allowed out of her room. They didn't get to participate with each other because of Covid, but it seems to be meeting her needs. Her room is fine for her. It is not as big as the place she had been in, but she only got her bed and her recliner, so she doesn't need a lot of room. The food is good. When they have something that she doesn't like, they will make her, her favorite."

"We actually have taken an opening at Trinity Ridge, and we happen to be in Connecticut trying to pack my mother’s things so we can drive her back down there. Trinity Ridge did a really good tour. They were very upfront, and told me a lot of information that was important to me about individualizing things for my mother. They gave me a run down on the kinds of things they do to make it safer, and then she said that none of those things work perfectly for everybody. They just are very creative, and continue to work on it with each individual. I thought, "This is what I need." This one had doctors there at the facility two days a week. They also have lab, and x-ray facilities. They got back to me, worked with me, and this has been a really big process for them because the snow storm held me up. We thought that we could get her there last week, but now it’s going to be Monday before we could get there. They’ve been really easy going about it. Another thing that was important that other people didn’t tell us in the beginning; it was really critical that where we have my mother moved to from her home would have a Medicaid continuum. When she runs out of money, and she’s going to need a Medicaid bed. The other thing they said was that hospice comes to their facility every single day so I would never have to move her again, and that makes all the difference in the world to me. "

"My mother was once worked at Abernethy Laurels, though she is no longer associated in any way with this facility. I had the opportunity to visit there on a number of occasions and was always very impressed. Located on Highway 16 near the small town of Newton, Abernethy Laurels is convenient to Charlotte, Hickory, and Lincolnton. (It can be easily spotted from the highway by its charming clock tower.) Abernethy Laurels has a wonderful reputation in the community and I think it is well deserved. The grounds are beautiful, as is the facility itself. From the moment you step into the lobby, you feel as if you are in a luxury hotel. The facility is clean, airy, and incredibly spacious. The walls are adorned with artwork and there is even a sunroom area complete with live fruit trees. Though I don't know a great deal about the activities the facility offers, I know there are a wide variety of fun things available for the residents to do. (I have had the opportunity to eat there, however, and the food was delicious.) Most importantly, is the level of care the residents are given. I am a nurse myself and have known several nurses who worked there. I believe the residents receive the highest quality care in an excellent setting, and I recommend Abernethy Laurels wholeheartedly. "

"I was very pleased with everything at the Carolina Rehab Center of Burke. It was big, and it was not like a nursing home. Their work ethics was good. The food was OK. They have rehab occupational therapy and physical therapy. They also have a lot of activities for the residents. "
