My mother is at Brookdale Robinwood. We like that it's in the city where we live. It's a beautiful community, very caring, and we're very pleased with the care that mom's receiving there. She says the food is very good. I don't have any complaints at all. They've been very accommodating for us. It felt more like a home.

I toured Brookdale Robinwood. They were very nice. They might have been doing some renovations, but they were nice. The facility was lovely. They had nice furniture in them or you could bring your own furniture if you chose, and I thought that was very nice. The staff was very helpful, very friendly, and very knowledgeable. She seemed to know a lot of detailed stuff.

If I had to choose one, Brookdale Robinwood would probably be one of the ones I would choose and go through the process. Very wonderful woman manager, very nice. I got along very well with her. We went into the dining room and I didn't try the food, but I sat and said hello to a couple of people and they were all very perky. The atmosphere in that place was the best of all of the places I went to. The whole atmosphere, happy people, happy lives. They have a bigger layout in some of the rooms. I saw one that had furniture in it, and it works. A bed, dresser, and chair. I got a very nice feeling about that one.

My mom was at Brookdale Robinwood for about a year and a half. There's a very high turnover rate there. We probably had five general managers. There was also a big high turnover in the people who care for you, so no one gets to know you. The food was horrible. Everyone complained about it. The residents had called DSS several times because of complaints, but the food never got any better. There are assigned seating. You have to eat at a certain time, and you have to eat at a certain table. They treat you like you're a child. These people are not children, they're still adults and they're still capable of making their own decisions. The rate was ridiculously high, and it went up again. It's a beautiful place; it is just not well-run. No one there knows what they're doing. It could be a great place because it is very pretty. They have a good activity director. His name is Levi and he has been there for a while. He kept tabs on my mom pretty closely. However, he didn't bring people in as often. They didn't have people coming in to play guitar or to sing or whatever, but they did do daily activities like little exercise classes and little things like that. My mom's room was very pretty. We redecorated her room. Their rooms have easy access to showers. They came in and collected your trash. My mom collected her own trash and set it outside the door though. Overall, starting from the top down to the bottom, they need to improve everything. The people in the office never come out of the office, you never see them, and they don't interact with the residents. I can't say anything positive about them.

We had a very good impression of Brookdale Robinwood. We liked the entranceway there a little better, because it was larger, and more like walking into a large living room. So I liked that part a lot. The room was very nice. We looked at a room that was larger than the one at the other place, which cost a good bit more, but it was very nice, very adequate. The staff was extremely nice. I was very impressed with the lady that gave us the tour. They had a family room if you had family come in and share a meal, or something, or visit. They had exercise available. They had a walking trail outside.

Very disappointed in this facility. Short stay due to mismanagement, level of care and quality of food. They are in the business of making money, it's their top priority...not your family members care.

Brookdale Robinwood is a good place and I'm very happy with the service we're receiving. They're very considerate of what she needs and wants. It's a very clean place and it has everything you need, so I'm happy with it. The staff is very attentive. I have no issues with them whatsoever. My mom is in a larger suite which is one big room. They have church services, people who come in from churches in the area to sing, and games. My mom uses the library.

Brookdale Robinwood is great. My sister is very happy there. They take very good care of her. The staff is great. We've had nothing but positive experiences there. She doesn't have any problem with the food. I like the activities. Her room is great. They have a beauty salon and great rocking chairs on the front porch.

I didn't see much of the staff when I was at Brookdale Place Robinwood. I mostly just dealt with the salesperson at that time, and she was the one that showed me around, so I really don't know how the staff interacts with the residents. The rooms were nice. I saw the menu, but I have not eaten there. The dining room looked more like a restaurant with tablecloths on the table and cloth napkins. It was very nice and spacious. It was very well lighted, but I didn't have any special feeling for this facility. They had day trips, Bingo, puzzle days, and all kinds of stuff like that. There were plenty of activities going on every day. It would not be my first choice, basically because it is more expensive and you don't get anything more for the money. They should provide furniture for private rooms; they do not provide the furniture.

I didn't really like the feel of Gaston Place. I don't know why, but I felt like I was entering into a clinic of some sort. I was told that it wasn't really like that, and they had a living room, but it didn't strike me that way. I wasn't impressed about it, so I didn't stay longer and didn't ask many questions.

My aunt seems to love the food at Gaston Place. She said it was great. When she first came to the facility, she had a lot of dementia and searched to go to her meals, so somebody would round her up and take her until she got used to when the meal time was. One of the guy's jobs was to come and get everybody and tell them "OK, it's time for lunch," and breakfast and dinner. So that itself is a big bonus. I don't see anything that needs to be cleaned. It looks nice. I found out that my aunt and uncle both were at this facility for many years. They actually passed away at this facility at different times, and I didn't know before I visited that it was the place they were in. They took excellent care of them. So all these people have been here. They see the same faces. There's not a big turnover of personnel. The people have worked there for a very long time. They enjoy what they do. They know the residents.

I do weekly visits to my friend who is now at Gaston Place. The facility is old, but she likes the place. Her roommate is very, very nice and she also likes that. She gets her hair done there and they do her laundry so that's good. It has been a good experience for her. They have different things going around there. They go on trips, but my friend doesn’t because she's in a wheelchair. I have not eaten there but she said that the food is good.

Gaston Place was pretty and clean. They're friendly and nice-looking. They have different sizes of rooms. The staff talked to me and told me what they do there.

From what I was able to gather in my experiences with my grandmothers stay, the place is an excellent and trustworthy home for people in extra need of assistance. Rooming was excellently well kept, and there was a caretaker by the name of William who was especially nice to my grandmother during her time there. I was quite fond of the excellent care provided to my grandmother in her twilight years. As opposed to the previous facility in which we had my grandmother staying, Gaston Place was a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. No one made my grandmother feel like a chore, and she always had someone with which to have a good conversation. I wouldn't hesitate to suggest Gaston Place to anyone, and have suggested it to plenty of friends and relatives since. I will forever sing this amazing establishments praises, and my grandmother I am sure would agree with me whole heartily for doing so.
