"Gardens of Statesville & Cardinal Village had comparable amenities and activities with the other place. We liked the big private dining room for families if you want to have a family get-together. I like the big lobby when you walk into the building with the piano and the entertainment area. They were under renovation, so you had to have a little bit of imagination about what it was going to look like when they got finished, but that didn't bother me. I think Mom would have done fine there, but the other place was less expensive and quicker to get into. They had the same kind of amenities and services that the other place does. And for memory care, they had a separate facility for activities. Their dining area was very good, too."

"Burke Long Term Care was not what I was expecting. The pictures on there didn't accurately represent what was inside the place. I realized it was a small facility, but at the same time, it woulldn't meet what my father needed. The place was clean, and the outside was clean as well. They're all shared rooms. There are no single rooms or anything like that. The staff was really nice, and she took me on a tour of the facility. They have a sitting room. There weren't many people in there, maybe two people, and that was it. They weren't cooking food at the time I was there, and the cafeteria is almost similar to a high school cafeteria. They don't have regular seats. They just have those barstool chairs, the round ones, with no backs on them, so I'm not sure how the residents can sit there and comfortably eat."

"VERY clean, pleasant staff. Small size ensures excellent care for residents.( 6 to 1) Did not see/learn if activities beyond tv viewing for residents are offered. Not quite the fit I am seeking for my husband but think it would be perfect for some. Open to visitors 9-9 ..and opportunity to sign residents out for hours or overnight."

"I cannot speak highly enough of Carillon. My grandfather was there in both the main area and the memory care area. The staff there truly treated him like family. He had never been happier (and this was his 4th assisted living residence!) than he was at Carillon. They treated him with respect and truly loved him. I knew that he was in good hands and couldn't have asked for a nicer, cleaner place or with more caring people for my grandfather to have lived. "

"My friend has stayed at Austin several times and I have visited there many times. The staff is friendly and helpful. There are no foul odors and that impressed me. My friend says that the food is better than any where else he has ever stayed and they can have seconds if they want. The food certainly smelled good when I was there. Most of the folks that live there are up and about and there is a friendly atmosphere. I would have no hesitation recommending this home. "

"The Lutheran Home is a great place to work. The CNA's really care about the residents and there care.They do pay more on night shift then day.If you are in it to help and care for the people then it's were you would won't to be.It's also a clean place and they keep it well supplied for everyone's needs.They have three levels of care there so witch ever you are best at you can choose from."

"The staff genuinely love and care about their residents and it shows in how they treat them with care and respect. They knew Mom as an individual person, not just "one of many". The management team were also always very responsive and communicative with updates or replies to any questions or concerns and I always knew Mom was in a safe and caring environment. I highly recommend Springs of Catawba to anyone looking for an assisted living facility."

"My mom moved into TerraBella Newton. The size is perfect. She has a full bed and still has room for a couple of chairs and a small two-person table between them. It's always kept clean. The floors and walls were immaculate. Everything works. I don't have any complaints at all about the room. The staff is very willing to attend to her needs, whatever she needs, whatever funky things she wants to try and do. She has much of her power back, if you call it that. When I was keeping her at home, she was confined, but there, she could roam, and they roam with them, and they let her do things with them. It's nice, and the folks are all nice. They call her by her name and know us by our names. I've never met one of them that I could say anything negative about. The food is delicious. You can smell it in the hallway before you even get to that hallway, and they get a large portion."

"Kingston had lots of activities, like crafts and shopping trips, and always somebody on call to help you. I really liked the environment and food. I didn’t like the rooms since there weren't any studios, but the grounds were very nice; they had a big garden in the back and nice pond. "

"Mum has been experiencing memory loss for about three years. During this time I have looked at quite a bit of communities for mum when I needed sometime off. After a friend told me about Graceview homes, I decided to give them a try and I couldn't have been more satisfied. Mum visits more often staying for days and sometimes on weekends. Hannah and the staff are so loving loving and caring, mum sometimes don't want to come home with us when we go to pick her up. Thinking about making it mums permanent home. I love the staff."

"I visit my aunt every week at Catawba Valley Living at Rock Barn. She's going to be 105 and gets around pretty good, but does have some dementia and can't hear or see well, so she is not really involved in anything. She broke her arm and has a cast on. They watch her, make sure she gets herself to bed, help her get dressed, and bathe her. They're really good. She has been there since middle of November. "

"Abernethy Laurels is beautiful and has a nice setting. The people are really nice. My parents-in-law do exercises and bingo. We chose this facility because they offered more than the other facilities we have visited. My father-in-law needed rehabilitation at times, and everything we need is all under one community, so it is very convenient for us. "

"Cambridge House was very nice. My mom was there for three years before she passed away, and they did an excellent job with her. It’s a lock down facility, and most of the rooms are semi-private. They fix the meals for them, have indoor activities, and have a physician on staff that comes into the facility. They also have a lot of staff. We were very pleased with everything. "
