Burke Long Term Care

I toured Burke Long Term Care. The individual who took me on the tour was very friendly and explained things. The area that I saw was more like a nursing home. Unfortunately, I didn't see the other section of the property because I became sick. I ate something at lunch that just really got me, and I couldn't continue. It was really severe; however, they were very kind and let me use their restroom, and I went home. It was more of a nursing home. I saw mostly people in beds, and several caregivers were there taking care of them. It wasn't an unpleasant place, but that part of it was not all right. I wish that I had been able to see the rest, but since I don't live in Burke County, I may not even have been allowed to go there. They showed me their rooms, and they were all single rooms. Folks seemed to be able to have their own possessions there. There is a building, and it has two apartments. The staff members were very pleasant.

Burke Long Term Care was not what I was expecting. The pictures on there didn't accurately represent what was inside the place. I realized it was a small facility, but at the same time, it woulldn't meet what my father needed. The place was clean, and the outside was clean as well. They're all shared rooms. There are no single rooms or anything like that. The staff was really nice, and she took me on a tour of the facility. They have a sitting room. There weren't many people in there, maybe two people, and that was it. They weren't cooking food at the time I was there, and the cafeteria is almost similar to a high school cafeteria. They don't have regular seats. They just have those barstool chairs, the round ones, with no backs on them, so I'm not sure how the residents can sit there and comfortably eat.

We visited Burke Long Term Care for my sister. It's assisted living, it was nice, and it was a very, old established place. The person who gave us the tour was very nice and showed us everything. The rooms were nice, too. It was a very small place, and I can't remember how many residents they had, but it was good. The staff who gave the tour was very helpful. The rooms were for two people and had single beds. They were kind of small, but they were nice. They also have a recreation room where they read, play games, watch TV, or do whatever they want to do.
