"This facility is the greatest place I believe I have ever been in. Everyone that works at this facility is amazing. What stood out the most about this place is the love and compassion from everyone that works at the Yancey House. I have visited many facility assistant Living, nursing’s homes and none of them compared to this place. They care about all of the people in this home. They’re not too busy to stop and listen, give them a big hug, or tell them they love them. What a wonderful blessing too know that their is a amazing place like this to bring a member of your family and not worry about them. I seen this first hand from visiting my brother there. No matter how busy they are they take time with these people with so much love and kindness. From the office personnel to CNA’s To Med Tech's. I was there on first shift though 3rd shift and they all was the same loving caring and compassionate. So if anyone in doubt about the Yancey House In Burnsville N.C. This is like a no other place I have ever been into. I wished I could rate it a 100 I would! Because everyone that works there is #1 and will always be. "My mom is a resident of Rose Hill Retirement Community. It's privately owned so I feel like the care is a lot better. They've got big rooms. It's individual rooms and not shared rooms. Whenever there's an issue or something with my mother, they work with me to help solve that and we come up with different options and things to try to make it easier for my mom. Because of COVID, they cut out a lot of programs and I don't know exactly what they brought back because I usually do my visiting with her at night. She's not a day person and sleeps most of the day, so she's up more at night. They cater to that where she's concerned. Their staff goes above and beyond in working with my mom. I've been happy with all of them. My mother likes the food, and if she likes it, that's all that counts. There's been a couple of times I've been up there when they were feeding her, and the food looked really good. They had a good variety of food that older people would eat. They've been very helpful because my mom sometimes needs help to eat, so they feed her. They're just really good with her. It's an older facility. The ladies that own it have decorated it back in the style from the time period that the people living there would have come out. So, there are a lot of antiques and things, a lot of older pictures. It makes the senior citizens feel more like they're at home. And the value for money compared to other places that I've looked at is a good value for what they charge. "

"The food is horrendous! They DO NOT follow nutritional value at all required by the state. Show up sometime at meals and see for yourself. I never saw any activities being done. Rooms are outdated. This facility is pathetic!"

"I would not recommend this facility for a cockroach. The people who work there are so rude with the residents. If there is someone that refuses to eat they will not take the time to coax them with positive comments. This place also has 3 shifts. I was visiting during the beginning of 2nd shift and was not very happy. They should have someone on the hall while another one does showers or whatever they do first. However, the 2 CNAs that were working both went to do showers at the same time. There was no CNA on the hall. The med-techs have no bedside manners with anyone here. The food here is horrible. I was visiting once while during Supper. They were served half cheese sandwich, small bowl tomato soup, and small bowl of mixed fruit. I do not think that was acceptable. Also, they are hateful with all residents especially during medication time. They tell everyone to wait until they hand out all medicines. I would not take no one even an ant to this facility. I think that the state should just go down there and shut that place down. I do not recommend even considering this facility for your loved one. I have been in there and will never go back what so ever. IT IS HORRIBLE AND NASTY. I do not even think that they had restrooms for visitors. I think just employee bathroom. SO AWFUL. "

"The staff was fine at Morganton Long-Term Care. They were very nice. But it just smells when we went in, and the rooms that we would have had for my mother wasn't just acceptable to what we want. Basically, it was the odor. It was pretty offensive for anybody else. But I do know several people from our church that are residents there and they seem to be doing well. It's just not the place for where I would want for my mother. "

"Nasty rooms that do not get cleaned, The staff talks down and bad to my family member. I haven't heard of but 1 activity they went out to Mcdonalds and then they said all family's stimulus money was gone. They cut the water off on the residents daily can't wash their face or anything. They don't wash their clothes they send them back dirty. I don't know how they get away with this. They have 6 some residents all paying at least 700.00 a month this is ridiculous. "

"I toured The Berkeley. It has a courtyard with a screened-in porch. It is very safe and excellent. The rooms were adequate in size. The staff was excellent. It's very clean and nice."

"Recently my wife and I were forced to place her mother in an assisted living facility. My mother-in-law's health was deteriorating rapidly due to complications from her long battle with diabetes. We checked several facilities and finally decided on the Shaire Center in Lenoir, North Carolina. During her stay, my mother-in-law was always treated with respect and received the health care necessary for her condition. We made sure to visit my mother-in-law at irregular intervals and at different times of the day. She was always clean and well fed. The only complaint I have with the Shaire Center is the wait time associated with their patient transportation service. On several occasions, my mother-in-law was left to wait at a doctor's office for the van to take her back to the facility. They have apparently corrected this problem now. "

"The main reason why I chose this facility is because they provide rehabilitation service and therapy 7 days a week. And I'm really impressed with their therapist. They are really nice and take good care of my mom. We were looking forward that she'll be out of the facility in 2 weeks time since she is improving every day. I'll definitely recommend this center for those people as well who are looking for rehabilitation service. "

"My visit to Country Pines Adult Care Home in Morganton was good. The staff was very friendly, very helpful, and very knowledgeable. The facility was clean and very well kept. It's just a house, so it has a front porch with rocking chairs, a gazebo, and a flower bed. In terms of activities, they kind of do their own thing, but they keep a puzzle out on the table all the time for the residents to work on. It's located well off of the main highway."
