My father is in Governor's Bend Retirement and Assisted Living. He actually moved a few years ago. They had gone up in price quite a bit, but they worked with us on that. It's very relaxing and homey. The staff is wonderful, knowledgeable, and very caring. I'm not real impressed with their activities. They have a lot of activities, but they're not interesting for everyone. The dining area and food is good. They have more like homecooked meals. If the resident has an aversion to something they're serving that day, they will try to get them something else, like a sandwich or a salad, something different. They try to accommodate the resident. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It's a little expensive.

Governors Bend is not the place for anyone looking for a memory care facility for their loved one. My experience was horrific! I moved my mother here on August 01, 2024 and moved her out 2 months later. The facility does not have the skilled personnel to handle dementia patients. A local physician that treated my mother informed me of this unfortunately after I moved my mother to Governors Bend. The executive director was very difficult to reach when there were concerns and because of his lack of communication and poor decisions on treatment for my mother she was placed in a very serious health compromise.

The food is not good. Everything else is excellent. The staff and caregivers are excellent. But corn dogs and chips are not healthy meals. The meals need to be healthy. It’s very important for elderly care. I hope they hire a nutritionist. They can set guidelines for nutritional meals for the residents.

Governor's Bend Retirement and Assisted Living was very upbeat. There was a kind of refined elegance to the whole place. I liked the way the dining room was set up. I spoke to some of the residents there and they said the food is excellent and they like living there. It's a couple thousand less expensive. Their rooms are more spacious for less money and that says a lot. One of the residents that was telling me about the place started showing me around. So, she was kind of giving me a tour, too, and she had been there for ten years. The first staff member I met, I just kind of walked in, and she was the on-staff RN. They have an RN 24/7, which is good. The second person I met was the business administrator that I talked to. They were friendly and informative. They gave me the information we asked for.

We toured Governor's Bend Retirement and Assisted Living. It was very well maintained. All of the staff were friendly. All of the residents spoke highly of the community. They all talked about how much they enjoyed it there, and they were all very happy. We viewed both the one-bedrooms and the two-bedrooms, and both of them were very spacious. The bedroom was separate from the kitchen-dining area and all of them had a walk-in closet, which was huge. They had a really big nice dining room and a patio garden. They had a large common area. They had a chapel, a salon, a game and TV room, and a little workout room.

We loved Governor's Bend Retirement and Assisted Living. Everybody was super nice. People were friendly. Garrett was great. The facilities were adequate. It was well organized and the people seemed happy. They had a beautiful courtyard and it was in a beautiful setting. They have three meals a day. The big thing was they assist as you need it without additional charge. They did not charge extra for distributing medication or anything. Everything was just one price. The food smelled great and the menus looked good. They had a lot of activities.

I toured Governor's Bend Retirement and Assisted Living. I like it. It is pristine. The exterior is beautiful as well as the interior. It's very welcoming and very clean. The staff was very nice, very informative, and very helpful. The room is spacious, and it looks like it is going to be very comfortable. It has a kitchenette, a bathroom, and a little sitting area. At the time that I went there, there wasn't any activity. Nothing was going on with the residents. I saw a couple of them, and they were sitting in the lobby area reading, but that was it. There's a beautiful lawn outside. They have a beauty salon, an activities room, a physical therapy room, and the dining room is very nice.

Governor's Bend Retirement and Assisted Living has a good layout and it's in really good shape. It's in good condition, everything's clean, and it had nice wide-open spaces. I liked that. There weren't a lot of areas that would cause a fall or where there were tight spaces. The rooms were sufficient; they're not huge. As far as the space in the rooms, I think they're large enough. They're sufficient for the needs. The staff was very friendly, accommodating, and willing to answer questions. They have a room where they can go to exercise, and they have activities like bingo. While I was there, they were having a little singing time. It's kind of set up like a church service and they had a lot of the participants there singing hymns and it seemed to be very well organized. It seemed like there were plenty of activities and interaction among the participants. There's a salon that's available many days a week, laundry services, and mail service.

Governor's Bend has been such a wonderful place, and everyone has been so very kind to my father for the last two years. I appreciate every staff member and nurse so much. We could not ask for a better home for him. It was heaven-sent when our family needed it the most!

My mother moved in to Governor's Bend last year. She regularly tells me "I love it here!" She says the food is very good and the staff members wonderful. Being there has allowed her to become more active and have a better social life, as well as the great care. I'd highly recommend it!

Governor’s Bend provides excellent loving care in a Christian environment. The main 4 aides that work in Memory Care are awesome; and so is the Activity Director. They treat Mom with love and respect. It really feels like a home for Mom. I don’t know what I would do without them.
Pleased in Erwin.

I am very pleased with the care my mom is receiving from this facility. Everyone seems to really love taking care of the memory care people. One thing that only seems to be the problem is the phones when the internet goes out so do the phones. Other than that I am very pleased with the staff and how well the people on the memory care unit are being taken care of. I am so glad that this facility is in Erwin Tn.

My aunt has been treated with such care and respect from Govenor’s Bend after the loss of her husband . The facility is beautiful and the staff goes way beyond to care for the residents. All of my aunt’s needs are always met from wellness, nutrition in a home style dining area, snacks scheduled in the day , scheduled medicines given , an activities schedule , visiting entertainment , group outings and religious services . The Peer interaction has been such a blessing for my aunt as she and the residents have developed new friendships . My aunt and I would highly recommend this facility to serve your family needs.

Governor's Bend is a new place. It is extremely nice and very well taken care of. Everything has been great. My mom speaks highly of the place. The staff is wonderful. They're the most friendly people. They're very attentive and very polite. Everybody is extremely happy and outgoing. The rooms are very nice and very immaculate, just well-suited for any resident that's there. My mom has one of the larger rooms in the facility with the two bedrooms. The pricing is reasonable because of the amenities that are included. They don't have add-in fees for medication administration. The price that they give you includes everything.

I liked the ratio of staff to patient in Governor’s Bend, and the staff is phenomenal. It’s only about 3 years old, and the building is beautiful. My aunt is very much a church goer, and it’s Christian based; they have a bible study and things that she really enjoys. The food is excellent, and I’ve never met a staff that isn’t caring, nice, and just really on the ball all the time.
