"I had a loved one at this facility in the Alzheimer unit. I love the people here. They make you feel like you are visiting in your loved ones home. The Alzheimer Unit is very secured and very great atmosphere. I would recommend this to anyone "

"I have frequented this facility for the last 4 weeks at all different hours and never been in any facility that was cleaner or been taken care of better than this one. The property is beautiful and serene and the staff is friendly and caring toward the residents and visitors. The staff plans activities with the residents such as bingo and though it may seem simple I love the fact that they paint their fingernails and chat with them. They don't even overlook these small things that make the female residents feel pretty. I have frequently been in the kitchen areas and they are clean also. I'm a serious germaphobe so this is huge for me to say. I have done work in many of these types of facilities and this is one of only two that I would put a family member or myself in. I cannot say enough good things about The Shaire Center. I highly recommend it!"

"I would not recommend this facility for a cockroach. The people who work there are so rude with the residents. If there is someone that refuses to eat they will not take the time to coax them with positive comments. This place also has 3 shifts. I was visiting during the beginning of 2nd shift and was not very happy. They should have someone on the hall while another one does showers or whatever they do first. However, the 2 CNAs that were working both went to do showers at the same time. There was no CNA on the hall. The med-techs have no bedside manners with anyone here. The food here is horrible. I was visiting once while during Supper. They were served half cheese sandwich, small bowl tomato soup, and small bowl of mixed fruit. I do not think that was acceptable. Also, they are hateful with all residents especially during medication time. They tell everyone to wait until they hand out all medicines. I would not take no one even an ant to this facility. I think that the state should just go down there and shut that place down. I do not recommend even considering this facility for your loved one. I have been in there and will never go back what so ever. IT IS HORRIBLE AND NASTY. I do not even think that they had restrooms for visitors. I think just employee bathroom. SO AWFUL. "

"this nursing home was very clean. The nurses were very rude, when i tried to see my grandmother they prevented me from doing so. The food i saw them feeding the residents looked gross. The overall outside of the nursing home looked quite nice and neat. I personally would recomend putting your loved ones in this nursing home, because the serivce and care of the residents are up to standard. The only problem i had was when they didnt allow me to see my grandmother, but it was understandable, and hasnt happened again. The do keep my grandmother clean, especially since she wears adult diapers. The make sure she is changed quite frequently, and dont allow her to get rashes. The feed the patients snacks and main course meals. Another complaint i do have is that they allowed another resident to hit my grandmother, i think this issue should be resolved by removing the resident but they wouldnt do that. My overall experience is pretty good, the good out weighs the bad. "

"The staff was fine at Morganton Long-Term Care. They were very nice. But it just smells when we went in, and the rooms that we would have had for my mother wasn't just acceptable to what we want. Basically, it was the odor. It was pretty offensive for anybody else. But I do know several people from our church that are residents there and they seem to be doing well. It's just not the place for where I would want for my mother. "

"I like Cambridge House. It’s a really clean place. They’re real attentive, and they go above and beyond what I thought they would do like the doctors’ appointments. They provide service without any extra cost. My mother needed a wheelchair at one time because she had fallen and broke her hip. She’s off of it now; they have done really well with her. I haven’t tried the food. My mother is well aware of everything, and she is a very picky eater, but she said their food is great. They take them shopping and out to eat. They do bingo and crafts. They don’t have an exercise program. It’s one of the things I wasn’t crazy about because I thought she needed more exercise, but she is walking and doing better now. It is about 5 minutes from my house so I can go back and forth anytime I need to without it being an inconvenience. "

"My father is staying at The Berkeley. It's clean, a fairly new structure, and reasonably priced. We called them every other day, and they would go over the phone with us on how things were going. With COVID, I haven't been exposed that much to the staff, but as far as amenities they were very good. They had a movie theater, and typically, a lot of scheduled activities, but a lot of them have been stopped due to COVID. They have not been allowed to bring in barbers, but once it opens up it'll bring the staff functional. It has a casual atmosphere but professionally run. So far, we are satisfied with the care they provide."

"I went to Kingston Residence of Hickory. It was a little bit too expensive. It was a very nice facility. It was upscale. "

"My sister moved to the Springs of Catawba. They're clean. They're friendly. They treat the residents very nicely. They are super good to the care type that's coming in and out. Her apartment is beautiful. It's just like a big living room. It's got furniture, a couch, a chair, a bed, and a dresser. It's big and spacious. They told her to play bingo and she was in a hurry to play bingo."

"My husband was at Trinity Village. The grounds were pretty. There needs to be more maintenance, especially in the private rooms such as, just painting and cleaning and so forth. The staff was really good. The services he was presented were well done, but he was not able to take part in activities other than physical therapy. They have an outside area and they have a crafts room. He was only there for three weeks. He was in an area for receiving people and acclimating them to the facility. From what I saw, the food was very well done. I noticed one day when I was there for lunch, that they were having fried chicken, and the staff was removing the outer coating on the chicken for the residents who could not eat the hard crispy chicken."

"My visit to Country Pines Adult Care Home in Morganton was good. The staff was very friendly, very helpful, and very knowledgeable. The facility was clean and very well kept. It's just a house, so it has a front porch with rocking chairs, a gazebo, and a flower bed. In terms of activities, they kind of do their own thing, but they keep a puzzle out on the table all the time for the residents to work on. It's located well off of the main highway."

"I visited my friend's parents at Taylorsville House. It is clean and the food looks really good. The workers that I met, and staff are nice and have a good attitude. They take good care of the residents, and the residents look clean, and they seem to be happy. The rooms are a nice size, and they are clean. The dining area is clean. They have a cook there that prepares meals and stuff. I know that they have a courtyard in the back where they can go out and they can sit outside. They can play games or watch television. They have music and then they have an activities person that does activities with some of the residents."

"My friend has stayed at Austin several times and I have visited there many times. The staff is friendly and helpful. There are no foul odors and that impressed me. My friend says that the food is better than any where else he has ever stayed and they can have seconds if they want. The food certainly smelled good when I was there. Most of the folks that live there are up and about and there is a friendly atmosphere. I would have no hesitation recommending this home. "

"My husband has been in Catawba Valley Assisted Living for awhile now. They have an excellent staff. I've been very pleased with them. The dining hall is very nice. The food is good. They're very accommodating. My husband never has to wait when he has a need. They're right there to take care of him. Medicines are given on time. Meals are served when they say they're going to be served. He just gets the care that he needs and I'm very pleased with that. He is a very picky eater and he doesn't like a lot of different things, but he likes the sandwiches. The dining area is always clean and very orderly. They have it decorated nicely with very comforting colors. My husband's room is fine. He has one of the larger rooms. They're either private or semi-private rooms. There are no apartments and no kitchen facilities, but I don't have a problem with that. He doesn't need a kitchen anyway. They have activities normally every day. Of course they can't now because of COVID, so there are still restrictions. When there are no restrictions, they have musical groups who come in, they do crafts, they have bingo, and they have shopping trips for anyone who wants to go. In the fall they go to the mountains for picnics. They had huge Christmas dinners for families. I have a little bit of an issue with the corporate office on some things that involved money. That's the biggest problem I have right now."
