Morganton Long Term Care facility is a horrible place! My parents were there for years! The food they served was awful, rarely a meat included in your meal, maybe a chicken thigh but most of the time pinto beans served as your meat! The nurses use patients medications for another patient should they run out! I know they used my dads meds and diapers for anyone needing it b/c we kept our parents supplied and privately paid the drug company! This is a violation of any company! The owners could care less about the patients and keeping them notified of the well being of their loved ones! I know because they wouldn’t notify us ( myself and my brother ) prior to my parents passing even tho my dad begged them to call us when he was dying, also the staff wasn’t allowed to contact us or they would lose their job! Please don’t take your family to this place if you love them! Many other horror stories told by other families! Stay away!

This place is what you would imagine in a horror movie. It is from the 60's, family owned and operated. A teenage boy was sitting behind the front desk assisting people. A Mattress was lying in front of the facility on top of trash. Scattered all about in the yard. A sign on the door says If you come in do not let a resident out. People screaming and roaming the halls. Very mentally ill disabled patients. Not by any fault of their own they roam into the coherent patients rooms. This is not a home for anyone that is coherent by any means whatsoever. They will not bring the coherent patients their meals into the room they have to eat in a mess hall with the rest. It is the most horrible place I have ever visited in my life. Please do not take your relative or friend to this facility. The only reason I gave it 1 star is because my friend told me that the staff was good to her. But while I visited I heard the staff screaming at the mentally ill patients. My friend that is there says the patients scream and cry all night long. Pleas GOD help those people there

The staff was fine at Morganton Long-Term Care. They were very nice. But it just smells when we went in, and the rooms that we would have had for my mother wasn't just acceptable to what we want. Basically, it was the odor. It was pretty offensive for anybody else. But I do know several people from our church that are residents there and they seem to be doing well. It's just not the place for where I would want for my mother.
