We were able to get my mom into Brookdale East Broad. They seem to be a little bit more fitted for her. Their price was pretty much all-inclusive, and I was able to get her in quickly. She wanted a private room. I like the way the staff do their meds and I like their experience. They help her with activities. They got assistants that help with that. They got everything that Mom needs. They have a hair salon, a PT area, an activities room, and a screened-in porch on the back that she can sit on. So far, we're getting everything that we need.

The people at Brookdale East Broad were nice. They were professional, friendly, and very helpful. The rooms were a fairly good size. They had a little walking trail and a garden out there. They got everything. They got a game room and a bus to take people out to Walmart or on tours. It's a nice place.

My dad is at Brookdale East Broad. The people are friendly and the director was very good at the time when we didn't have to deal with the medications yet. He's got a big-sized room and he seems to be happy with it. He just couldn't afford more expenses. The food was great when we first went in there, and then COVID came. So, families couldn't get in, and when we could, it wasn't good, but he said it's improving now. They don't have a lot of activities, but they have a porch that they could sit on and rocking chairs at the front, and a dining area that is more like a restaurant type.

Brookdale East Broad was clean. The staff was attentive and my father's future roommate was very nice. The rooms seemed small though, but they had everything that he would need. They have a dining room, a sitting room, and another area outside for sitting. The residents were just friendly.

Right now, Brookdale East Broad are doing a lot of renovation on it. They're updating and changing carpets, and painting. The staff explained all that to us. Of course, we saw some areas that weren't put back together yet, and we understand that when you're doing painting and things. What quite disappointed us the most was the very small showers. The staff was very good. The facility needs a little TLC outside. The inside is being renovated, so I can't adequately say it was topnotch or anything like that. The layout is good. The rooms are laid out pretty good. The ones without the hallway seems to be a little more open.

We visited Brookdale East Broad in Statesville. As a visitor, there were several things that I didn't like. I didn't like the cleanliness of the place. They have not been serving meals in their dining room for months now, they cook the food in the kitchen and they deliver them in Styrofoam containers to the residents' rooms. When we walked in to the dining room, the floor of the dining room was filthy. There was clutter and dirt all over the place. That's not the kind of filthy that my sister would want to be in. That's one issue. The other issues was, we noticed that all of the residents seemed like in a hospital environment than a home type of environment. All of the residents that were there, their doors were wide open. That's just not what my sister would expect to see. She's a private person, she likes her privacy but it felt more like a hospital environment instead of a home. Those were the two things that were really negative. The staff seemed to be caring people. They gave us a nice tour, they were very friendly so that didn't seem to be an issue. Another issue was the residents there, overall, seemed to be a little bit later in the dementia process, not at the beginning of dementia like my sister is. In the few people that we happened to say hello to, they seemed to be deeper into the dementia than my sister will be for a good while and that's something negative. We saw several different apartments, they were way too small.

Everyone was really nice at Brookdale East Broad. They talked to myself and my mom about our expectations. They allowed her to eat lunch, look around the facility, and see how she would like it. It was a very pleasant experience. It was very homelike and it had a really warm feeling. The residents were very nice. There were lots of rooms for different activities there. It felt like you were in a home away from home. They have a calendar full of activities. They can go out and do their own shopping, they have exercises, and there are people who come in and do things with the residents. Whatever you're interested in, they have an activity for it. The staff was very caring and willing to help, and makes sure that your needs are met. Everyone including the head nurse and the admissions lady were all very nice. My mom said the food was good. The cleanliness was also very good.

My parent was only here at Brookdale East Broad for four days, but they were very accommodating and very nice. The rooms and apartment were very nice. She didn't have many meals, but she did like what she had. The staffs were very nice and very good.

When we first went to Statesville Manor, we thought we had an appointment set up. When we arrived, they were never told we were coming but they stopped what they were doing. The senior staff gave us a tour. Everybody that worked there called every person that went by with their names. The room was pretty much big enough for my mom. The food was good and clean, and she liked it. The environment was clean. The staff were able to call all the residents by name and I liked that. Everything was great and I would recommend this facility to others.

Always clean. Not perfect, but fix problems when they come up. Mom loves it there, and when we come to visit it feels like a "home".

This is the second grandparent I have had in a assisted living facility. My first experience was horrible. Statesville Manor has gone a long way in approving my opinion of assisted living facilities. Statesville Manor is a very comfortable place. I find it warm and inviting. The staff is very professional and caring. They plan multiple activities for residents to particapte in to keep them healthy and active. They plan special parties for all of the holidays. I also feel the staff emotionally invest in the residents. I think that is extremely important. There are certianly more luxurious places available, but I think the overall comfort level is good. Multiple community groups take an active interest in residents of Statesville Manor. They have planned church services each week. They have exercise classes. If a resident needs temporay extra care the staff is on point to supply that extra care. No one really ever wants to put their loved on in a assisted living facility, but I think Statesville Manor takes great care in providing a great home.
