The Best Senior Living Communities in Conover, NC

"Gardens of Statesville & Cardinal Village had comparable amenities and activities with the other place. We liked the big private dining room for families if you want to have a family get-together. I like the big lobby when you walk into the building with the piano and the entertainment area. They were under renovation, so you had to have a little bit of imagination about what it was going to look like when they got finished, but that didn't bother me. I think Mom would have done fine there, but the other place was less expensive and quicker to get into. They had the same kind of amenities and services that the other place does. And for memory care, they had a separate facility for activities. Their dining area was very good, too."

"We were able to get my mom into Brookdale East Broad. They seem to be a little bit more fitted for her. Their price was pretty much all-inclusive, and I was able to get her in quickly. She wanted a private room. I like the way the staff do their meds and I like their experience. They help her with activities. They got assistants that help with that. They got everything that Mom needs. They have a hair salon, a PT area, an activities room, and a screened-in porch on the back that she can sit on. So far, we're getting everything that we need."

"We toured Brookdale Lenoir. The apartments were very nice. The gentleman who was showing us around was awesome. He had all the information and the questions he could answer for us. In the other facility, you could get in the cafeteria, sit at a restaurant-style table, and they would take your order. The one in Brookdale Lenoir didn't quite offer that many amenities, but everything was great about it. If my dad could do more on his own, cooking, everything, that would be a perfect place, but we wanted a place with more meals and everything. There was nothing at all wrong with the apartments or anything in itself. Everything was very nice and organized, and the people there were very nice."

"The staff at Brookdale Peachtree was very knowledgeable. I met people that had been there for 16 to 20 years, so they had staff who liked working there. And they were fully staffed, they were not looking for employees. The rooms were very nice. They showed me a model room as well as an empty room, which is a possibility for my mom. There's one room that had a door that went out to the courtyard, so that was very nice as well. The staff gave me an example of what activities they do in a month. They gave me a calendar of what they had planned this month, there were various things every day from music to arts and crafts to, all different kinds of things."

"Brookdale Peachtree was beautiful and clean. The patients had the freedom to just roam. The rooms were nice and spacious. They had their own bathrooms in their rooms. They have so many activities. The staff was extremely friendly, very knowledgeable, and helpful in what next step I needed to take for my mom. The dining room was spacious. They could get around really easily in there, even with walkers. It was set up like a restaurant."

"We toured Cadence Mooresville. They have a lot of activities and a lot of people. Everyone seemed to be pretty happy and we were positive about them. It's both assisted living and memory care. The community was clean and very nice, and it was good. The rooms were big. The tour guide was very nice and bubbly."

"My father is in memory care at Peninsula Family Care Home, and it's very good. The rooms were very nice, furnished, and very clean. This is a small six-bed family home. It has a family room, a bedroom, a kitchen, and a breakfast area. The staff is very good. Because it's small with only six beds, it's very individualized type of care. There are no amenities. They have some activities that they try to do with the residents, such as playing some games or doing puzzles or something, but it's not like your typical assisted living that has 100 beds or so."

"We toured Arbor Ridge at Huntersville. It had very friendly staff. It's very clean. It had a lot of activities, and pretty much it was just as nice as the other one that we visited. They had coloring activities for the individuals that stayed there. They were singing songs. It's a very good facility."

"We visited Burke Long Term Care for my sister. It's assisted living, it was nice, and it was a very, old established place. The person who gave us the tour was very nice and showed us everything. The rooms were nice, too. It was a very small place, and I can't remember how many residents they had, but it was good. The staff who gave the tour was very helpful. The rooms were for two people and had single beds. They were kind of small, but they were nice. They also have a recreation room where they read, play games, watch TV, or do whatever they want to do."

"We toured Cadence Huntersville. There were a lot of things that I liked about it, but I liked the friendliness of the staff. I liked the cleanliness of it. I liked all the activities that they had there. It just seems like a very family-orientated community. We did get a chance to meet the chef, and we were very impressed with the chef. We looked at the studio plus the kitchenette."

"My husband stayed at Conover Nursing and Rehab Center. During the time that he was there, he was doing rehabilitation because he had a fall. The rehabilitation I thought was excellent. He was only there for two and a half weeks, but the whole time they made sure that he was doing everything that he needed to be done for him. The staff was caring, like they wanted the best for him."

"My friend has stayed at Austin several times and I have visited there many times. The staff is friendly and helpful. There are no foul odors and that impressed me. My friend says that the food is better than any where else he has ever stayed and they can have seconds if they want. The food certainly smelled good when I was there. Most of the folks that live there are up and about and there is a friendly atmosphere. I would have no hesitation recommending this home. "

"They provide transportation at Pace@Home and they have activities for seniors, but I only go two days a week. In the mornings, they have yoga and music. In the afternoons, they have crafts and Bingo. Also, they have a doctor and a nurse there. They serve lunch with good meals. The fellowship with other people to me is one of the best things, which I enjoy. "

"My husband is on a waiting list at TerraBella Newton. It's a beautiful place. Compared to all the other places we looked at, it was just really nice. The people were great. They seemed to take care of the patients. We just really liked it. The meals are included. The staff was knowledgeable, and I was impressed with her. They had like a garden with a place for them to sit, which was nice."
