"We toured Cadence Huntersville. There were a lot of things that I liked about it, but I liked the friendliness of the staff. I liked the cleanliness of it. I liked all the activities that they had there. It just seems like a very family-orientated community. We did get a chance to meet the chef, and we were very impressed with the chef. We looked at the studio plus the kitchenette."

"My husband is on a waiting list at TerraBella Newton. It's a beautiful place. Compared to all the other places we looked at, it was just really nice. The people were great. They seemed to take care of the patients. We just really liked it. The meals are included. The staff was knowledgeable, and I was impressed with her. They had like a garden with a place for them to sit, which was nice."

"GraceView Homes is the only one I'm interested in. I like the concept of it being a small facility. To me, that leaves more one-on-one time for each resident. They do not let the residents just sleep in bed all day long, which I was very glad to hear. I was glad to hear that they offer home-cooked meals of some of their favorite meals. There were just a lot of positive vibes from the whole situation and knowing that it's owned by a local pharmacist. The dining area was fine. It was right in the kitchen. I was in the common area, and the couches and chairs there were very dirty. But the rest of the place looks clean. The kitchen was clean. The driveway needs to be fixed big time. It's nothing but a washed-out gully. I have a tiny sports car, and I don't even think I would be able to get my car through that gully without doing some underneath damage. All of the staff members were just as nice, friendly, helpful, and informative as they could be."

"Abernethy Laurels is clean, quiet, and updated. The lady I talked to was very challenging. It was only my resilience that got me an appointment there because I wouldn't give up. They don't call back. They're not nice on the phone, and even at the beginning of the walkthrough was awkward until I didn't know what I said or what I shared, but the interview completely changed to "give me this information". Then this lady called the place where my father-in-law is located now and got everything that she needed. I think that they're just very choosy and careful as to who they let come in. I think a private place has the right to do that and I'm not offended at all. I still appreciate that and that's why I want my father-in-law to be there. The lady was still amazing, and helpful, and went above and beyond to get the information. They have a lot of things. They have a rehab if you need it. There's a kitchen where families can come and cook with the residents. The dining area was clean and beautiful. She discussed what they offer, what they do, and how they are willing to meet my father-in-law and his physical condition, which means they'll probably have to have meals in his room, and that was not upsetting to her at all."

"I cannot properly express my gratitude for the care that was given to my Mom from the time she arrived at the end of February 2017 to when she peacefully passed away on June 10th of this year. There were many challenges with my Mom but your wonderful staff met every last one. She THRIVED there and I will always praise and recommend Hickory Village Memory Care. The employees there make a HUGE difference, not only in the lives of the residents, but also in the lives of their families. I never had to worry about my Mom while she was under your care and She was always in a happy mood when I visited. I truly thank you ALL from the bottom of my heart. "

"My sister moved to the Springs of Catawba. They're clean. They're friendly. They treat the residents very nicely. They are super good to the care type that's coming in and out. Her apartment is beautiful. It's just like a big living room. It's got furniture, a couch, a chair, a bed, and a dresser. It's big and spacious. They told her to play bingo and she was in a hurry to play bingo."

"We toured TerraBella Lincolnton. We chose them because of the distance. It's nice and homey. The rooms were a nice size, and the staff was friendly."

"this nursing home was very clean. The nurses were very rude, when i tried to see my grandmother they prevented me from doing so. The food i saw them feeding the residents looked gross. The overall outside of the nursing home looked quite nice and neat. I personally would recomend putting your loved ones in this nursing home, because the serivce and care of the residents are up to standard. The only problem i had was when they didnt allow me to see my grandmother, but it was understandable, and hasnt happened again. The do keep my grandmother clean, especially since she wears adult diapers. The make sure she is changed quite frequently, and dont allow her to get rashes. The feed the patients snacks and main course meals. Another complaint i do have is that they allowed another resident to hit my grandmother, i think this issue should be resolved by removing the resident but they wouldnt do that. My overall experience is pretty good, the good out weighs the bad. "

"My sister-in-law moved today into Heritage Place Memory Care. It was clean, neat, and everybody was nice. It just looked better than the one we had been in. They furnished everything, we didn't have to move anything except our clothes. They had a bed stand, television, and chest. They provide three meals a day. The staff were very friendly and professional. They've got singing, bingo and all the usual things most places have. They've got outdoor space, an area with chairs, like a pergola, that's half-shaded."

"I visited my friend's parents at Taylorsville House. It is clean and the food looks really good. The workers that I met, and staff are nice and have a good attitude. They take good care of the residents, and the residents look clean, and they seem to be happy. The rooms are a nice size, and they are clean. The dining area is clean. They have a cook there that prepares meals and stuff. I know that they have a courtyard in the back where they can go out and they can sit outside. They can play games or watch television. They have music and then they have an activities person that does activities with some of the residents."

"I visited Peak Resources Cherryville and it was a very nice place. If I had my choice, that's where my husband would be. It was very nicely decorated, and very clean, and has a good overall feeling about it. They have a memory care unit but my timing was not good because just as I was touring, there was a family that they were also working with to see if they were going to take the place or not, so there was no opening. The person who accommodated me was a very nice lady. They have shared and private rooms, and common spaces."

"Shaire Center is very clean. They have a very friendly staff and all of the residents are dressed, alert, and well cared for. They have plenty of nice spaces for visits as well as incredibly nice rooms. Each different unit has its own activities list appropriate to them. Plus, they have in-house physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. For memory care, they have games, sing-alongs, and worship services. They were the best of any place we visited."

"I toured The Berkeley. It has a courtyard with a screened-in porch. It is very safe and excellent. The rooms were adequate in size. The staff was excellent. It's very clean and nice."

"My Mom has been here since September 25th. This was a big change for her. Her husband (Dad) died September 13th and she couldn’t live alone as she had Alzheimer’s. This place is just like being at home. There are only 6 residents and Mom has made friends with all of them. The owners and the staff are very friendly, supportive and strong in their faith. I’m very comfortable with how happy Mom is there and how quickly she made the adjustment because of the loving environment there!"
