"Carillon Assisted Living was beautiful. They had a little bit more features, but it was about $2000 more a month, but they did everything there. It was just like walking into a very famous hotel, but it didn't look anything like it. All the glitter and fancy stuff, it was very, very beautiful. It was overwhelmingly beautiful. The only thing they did that I didn't like is they pushed me for finances, i.e., for me to go and get money for my mother from whomever I could, and I didn't like that at all. The other places didn't do that. Also they said they would call me back in a week, but they never called me back. Their surroundings and their rooms were absolutely beautiful. "

"I toured Denver Family Care Home. It was just a house with six people and a caretaker. It was absolutely lovely and so pristine. The person who is the 14-day on and 14-day off staff member who was present was wonderful, available, and informative. She didn't even know we were coming. The residents were clean. Their rooms were clean. The house was clean. Everyone was eating and having breakfast and going about their day. It's very organized. It's a lovely place. I wish it was a good fit for my father-in-law, but unfortunately not. If he needed assisted living, it would be perfect."

"My impression of TerraBella Harrisburg was very nice The people were up and moving about, and it has that very welcoming feel to it. The location was further away, so it wouldn't have been as convenient for us to have our mom there. But overall, the facility was nice and the person that gave the tour was excellent. They were very well-maintained, so as far as the appearance of it from the outside, it was nice. The rooms were nice and they were spacious. We saw two different ones, and they were nice, they had good space in them, they're very clean, very nice and bright inside."

"Brookdale Concord Parkway was a very professional place. The environment was nice, and the facility was nice. Overall, everything was nice - the dining room, the staff, the atmosphere, and the level of the games and activities that they had for the residents. It was immaculate. The guy that did the tour was very professional but he's very personable. That was the top of the line."

"I had a nice tour of Dilack Home. I like the atmosphere. The only thing they had was the available apartment suite, which was not within my budget, so I couldn't do that. Mom would have one bedroom that was pretty large. It was furnished and had a bed and your use of closet. In the apartment homes, they had their own little kitchenettes, which my mother did not need because she had dementia. The staff who gave the tour was very nice and very informative."

"Kannapolis Family Care Home is a house, and then they have many rooms for the patients. They seemed very nice over there. The rooms were a little small. They had six people, but the girls that were there were really nice. I'm a little more open to that type of a concept if my mom has to go into a facility where she needs to be helped more. They were very friendly and were very helpful. They really seemed to care about the ladies that were under their care. It's an older building, but they're making renovations in it. They're doing some renovations in the interior. They had just put down new floors, and they were on their way to updating things, and I liked that concept. I liked them, and I think that that type of facility is definitely good for people that might need a little more extra care than what you can get out in assisted living. These girls work so many days, and they're there pretty much 24 hours. The other young lady helps out, but she's basically their cook. They all eat family style, and I really like that concept, too."

"Morningside of Concord is just perfect. My mom is enjoying the food. It's very nutritious and just what she needs. They're always on top of the care for all the residents and there are lots of activities. They do trips to local restaurants, wineries, and some shopping trips. One day when it was too hot to be outside, they just did a little trip in their van and just rode around that community. Inside the facility, they have bingo, people that would come in to sing/do talks about travel, devotions, picnics out in the courtyard, and exercise classes. There are two or three things every day. It's beautiful and very clean. They're always cleaning the courtyard. It's got a gorgeous fountain right in the middle with lots of seating, lots of umbrellas, and lots of shade from trees."

"We placed my mom in Brookdale South Park. They have great staff there. They’re attentive to what our specific needs for her care. It is secure environment. Overall, it is a great layout, and a friendly inviting environment for my mom. The dining room is nice. I haven’t tried the food myself, but it seems adequate. They have daily activities anywhere such as games, puzzles, arts, crafts, and music. They have daily activities that they can participate in. "

"Brighton Gardens of Charlotte has been good. They have bridge, cooking, and daily activities. They serve three meals a day and they have snacks available. It is comfortable and everybody's very friendly. The staff is very informative and friendly. They have physical therapy and a beauty shop."

"I chose Carillon for my mom, and everything is going well. They have puzzles, memory games, and motor skill exercises. They have an outdoor area, a garden, and a lake. Her room is comfortable and clean."

"My parents are currently at Sunrise on Providence. I thought it felt more approachable and a little homier. Unfortunately, my dad is used to having more space than what he has now, and he is a very private person, so he probably doesn't want to engage in very many activities. I didn't like the staff very much. And of the people in the memory care unit, which is where my mother is transitioning, two were very helpful. They have music, outings, and a group that goes out to lunch. They have a men's luncheon, and they have organized all kinds of games and stuff, but my dad doesn't want to participate in anything. "

"There is a reason this beautiful location is in a residential area and feels like home to the residents. The managers and staff take pride in it inside and out AND take pride in their care of the residents inside and out! The lower staff-to-resident ratio allows management and staff to focus on the residents and their specific needs. The facility does not feel, look, nor “smell” institutional, staff is attentive and responsive, and our family loves that we can focus our time on our loved one rather than on what staff did wrong & the treatment of our loved one! ALL facilities in the industry should aspire to be like this one that is comprehensively a breath of fresh air! We love them! The rooms are beautifully and creatively appointed with little need for families to bring more furniture. Staff are thorough in their communications with families and will call and text with updates on any specific issues of concern. I’ve witnessed staff doing art activities and sitting on the porch talking with the residents as if they were their own family! They even share how loved ones respond! The yard and porch allow for residents to take in the beauty of the place rather than being stuck in their rooms and staring at the 4 walls all day! This facility thrives on social interaction with its residents. The meals are delicious to the residents and it is precious to watch staff interact, feed, and encourage family members to do the same in a dining room that looks like home where they make everyone feel welcome! Every time I bring family & friends to visit our loved one, they are thoroughly impressed!"
