Nursing Home Communities in Statesville, NC

"I was shocked at how bad this place is. My father was placed here with the intention of getting rehab but never saw any. He was in their care for a little over a week and a half and several times we came and had to get someone to get him a bath or change his clothes which should have been done without having to ask. The Cna's are awful.... Not all but most if the ones we encountered. You have to have a heart for the job and many are there just to collect a paycheck. The end came for us when we arrived at 12:30 one afternoon, my father had been in the same shirt for two days... No bath.. We called for a nurse. They found he had gained an infection so bad on his back died that he immediately had to be transported by EMS. If he had been cared for and checked daily I believe it would have been found sooner. My father said they never came when he would ring his bell, or it took them forever. I would never place a loved one at this facility!!!!! Their own staff said they were trying to leave because it was so bad there. The smell is awful and so is the service. The rn's were great... That us about the only nice thing I can say. They should be ashamed of their facility and someone needs to investigate. We are filing a complaint. My father had to have a surgery that he almost didn't make it out of because he received less than appropriate care here. "

"Abernethy Laurels is a warm and welcoming place. They provide great care and have served the community since the 1970's- so they must be doing something right. The building is always clean and inviting. Great staff that are happy and willing to help. 5 stars++"

"Rooms were good and clean. Food was reasonably good— more choices would be better. Clean facility with exception of urine smell when you walk in some days but it was cleaned up. Laundry was not as good. They would lose things or put in someone else’s room and it would take of couple of days to be found. Therapy was great. Overall I would recommend to anyone."

"My mom is in Valley Nursing Home because she needs skilled nursing now. The place smells good, and the people are nice to her. I have eaten lunch with her, and the food is pretty good. They keep her clean, and they are good to her. They have different kind of rooms. Right now, she shares a room. They have activities like they have all kinds of crafts, music, devotions, and church services, and they have rooms that they can watch TV if they don't watch it in their own room. Sometimes they have movies. They have a whole schedule of activities that they can go to. The best thing about it is that it is close to her family and her friends, and it smells good. I have been to some places that did not smell good. I think it is a fine place for my mother right now. "

"My husband stayed at Conover Nursing and Rehab Center. During the time that he was there, he was doing rehabilitation because he had a fall. The rehabilitation I thought was excellent. He was only there for two and a half weeks, but the whole time they made sure that he was doing everything that he needed to be done for him. The staff was caring, like they wanted the best for him."

"My mom is at Autumn Care. They're very attentive to their clients. My mom is in a room by herself. It has its own bathroom with a walk-in shower. They have a really nice physical therapy room, a salon, and several living rooms where families can gather in very large spaces. They have one room up front that has a baby grand piano. From time to time, families go in there and can play. The staff is very good."

"I was there for REHAB. Rooms were very clean. Staff was great and helped so much to make my stay better. The Physical and Occupational Therapists were the best! The Nurse and CNA’s were so positive and helpful. I would highly recommend Liberty Commons for Rehabilitation. Thanks to all the ladies in Rehab, My favorite CNA’s Mecca and Jaime and Nurse Christina. Others but not enough room to name. Thank you!"

"My family member was treated well and recieved good care at the Brian Center. The staff was friendly and seemed to care a great deal about the patients there. The medical attention that is recieved is alsome. The staff is very friendly and always there to help. They are always willing to listen to worries and answer questions that you might have.The building was always clean and well taken care of. Lots of daylight and plants. There are activites and socializing for the patients too. I would highly recommend the Brian Center to anyone that is searching for a Nursing home or assisted living for their loved one. "

"The VA Community Living Center in Salisbury, NC is an excellent facility located in the beautiful bucolic countryside. The facility provides short term, long term and hospice care for eligible veterans. This is a professionally managed facility that is staffed with caring and well trained nurses, doctors, attendants and administrative staff. The staff take a "small town" personal interest in their residents and provide ample opportunity for recreational and educational activities. This facility is located on the grounds of the Salisbury VA Medical Center. This makes access to treatment very easy and convenient for residents. "

"I visited the Genesis Health Center, and it was a very nice center. The administrator showed us around. She was very nice and very informative. I was pleased with the facility, and that was where I wanted my mother to go. The administrator was very cordial, and she answered all our questions. I liked her. "

"I toured Trinity Oaks. It's very close-knit and everybody was chatting with everybody including the staff. They're sitting and knitting with the people. I couldn't tell the staff from the people. They're intertwined with each other, and the staff was warm and friendly. I tasted their meal. They had some freshly made pumpkin ravioli. They have a chef who was trained in Italy. He made some homemade ravioli that day and I got to taste that, and it was out of this world. They had a different kind of way that they had their assisted living. I felt like I was back in a college dorm. They had little cozy living rooms throughout the hallway instead of one big industrial kind of living room, so it was cozy."

"The doctor sent my mother-in-law to Trinity Oaks for rehab. We knew of its reputation and we knew previous people that had been there. The staff is very attentive, knowledgeable, communicates with us frequently and kept us informed. The place is also clean. "

"I visited a friend of ours at Trinity Village in Hickory. She's in their assisted living. The place was very nice. It's clean. It's decorated very pretty, and there's no bad smell. All the time, I see on Facebook that they do activities with their people. It's just overall a good place, and the staff was great. They do all kinds of arts and crafts and have all kinds of functions going on for the residents."
