"I was shocked at how bad this place is. My father was placed here with the intention of getting rehab but never saw any. He was in their care for a little over a week and a half and several times we came and had to get someone to get him a bath or change his clothes which should have been done without having to ask. The Cna's are awful.... Not all but most if the ones we encountered. You have to have a heart for the job and many are there just to collect a paycheck. The end came for us when we arrived at 12:30 one afternoon, my father had been in the same shirt for two days... No bath.. We called for a nurse. They found he had gained an infection so bad on his back died that he immediately had to be transported by EMS. If he had been cared for and checked daily I believe it would have been found sooner. My father said they never came when he would ring his bell, or it took them forever. I would never place a loved one at this facility!!!!! Their own staff said they were trying to leave because it was so bad there. The smell is awful and so is the service. The rn's were great... That us about the only nice thing I can say. They should be ashamed of their facility and someone needs to investigate. We are filing a complaint. My father had to have a surgery that he almost didn't make it out of because he received less than appropriate care here. "

"as far as the staff goes, they are all good people...if i ever have to go back this is where i would want to be...the residents i was in contact with seem to enjoy living there...the activities directors provided things to do uf you are able...a good place"

"After visiting several facilities in the area, I will have to say Village Care is "Hands down" the best I have seen. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The place smelled and looked very clean. I will be placing my mom here soon. "

"I went and looked at Homestead Hills, and all the employees were extremely nice and very supportive. They were very caring, attentive, and answered all questions. The facility was very clean. They were extremely helpful, and they even followed up."

"My uncle is at Silas Creek Rehab. The grounds are very neat. No problems there. The room is nice, and the staff seems to take care of the patients. They have activities. My uncle has to do exercise three times a week. They have an exercise room. a dining room, and a conference room. It's very, very well organized. Food seems to be good. He has no complaints. The only thing he complained of is that it's not enough."

"Mature, experienced, competent staff, caring managers, with many years experience with this facility. Excellent care and beautiful grounds, gym for physical therapy, portable x-ray, outstanding care. One of the best I've seen, highly recommend. "

"We like Salemtowne. It's very pretty, has a very nice apartment, and has very nice people. Everything is great about it, the location, the food, the people, and the support you get. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. We have a kitchen, but there's a dining room, and we can go there. There are many activities, although we haven't done any of them yet. The place is very clean and kept up maintenance-wise."

"The Oaks is a Great place, I have had family and friends to stay at that facility and they all had wonderful experiences. Left there with great rehab and nursing care services. They would highly recommend The Oaks anytime. Rooms are big and private. Housekeeping is wonderful. The staff is very kind, caring and compassionate to the residents and famalies. Activities are great. Favorite activities are Bingo of course. "

"My brother is at Brookridge Retirement Community. It is fabulous. It is the most wonderful place. It is clean and lovely. Everybody has been kind, cooperative, and as helpful as anybody could ever have been. I'm blown away by how wonderful it is. My brother has a private room and the room is great. Views are all over the windows. You look out over a forest. Driving into this place is like driving into an estate somewhere. It is wooded. It's just ideal. He's not completely cured yet, but he tells me that they've done exercises almost every day. He says he is doing better. The people are helpful and unbelievably kind and supportive, even the man who answers the phone. When you call, you're immediately hooked into somebody. You get beautiful Beethoven music while waiting and somebody answers the phone right away and they tell you where you are in line (I've never been higher than two in line). The place is lovely. Just perfect. It is great with nice-sized rooms. It's always clean, neat, and well-lighted, but cozy. For my brother's money, it's just been a great spot."

"I was originally very pleased with the care my mother received at Springwood. However, recent changes in staffing have negatively affected the care she receives. It is extremely hard to get appropriate wound care, the facility has an unpleasant odor more often than not, it is difficult to get anyone on the phone, instructions are not relayed appropriately between shifts and I am not entirely sure there would be much care at all if it were not for the Hospice staff. I have gone from being very satisfied to very dissatisfied in a short period of time. "

"My mom came out of a rehab center -- the Winston Salem Nursing and Rehab. She was there for about a month. They could have been a little better. Some staff that was very nice, but a lot of them was not that good. They were kind of lazy. When you walk in, you don’t feel everything was clean. My mom didn’t particularly like the food. She hardly ate up there. I did notice that some of the stuff that she wasn’t supposed to eat, she was eating up there, so that wasn’t good. "

"My mom is a resident of Arbor Acres. Her experience overall appears to be pretty positive. Her room is clean, and the staff is personable and helpful."

"We had someone at Oak Forest Rehab. The workers were very good and very helpful. The patients were well taken care of. It's a very nice facility. They had rehab, physical therapy, a place where you can get your hair cut and washed, and they take care of the laundry."
