Arbor Acres was beautiful. They had all kinds of imaginative activities for people, the staff was very courteous and nice. The people seemed positive that they lived there, and all the facilities were clean and nice. They have pickleball, they have a musician that does concerts for them, and they go together to different places in Winston-Salem. I got to see one or two apartments that were being renovated, but they still look great.

It's a very nice place. The only negative thing about it.They hire Aides that have pending drug charges.Which I don't trust them type of people.I feel they need to check their employees criminal background at least every 6 months

I have a friend who lived at Arbor Acres. They’re clean, attentive, provide three levels of care, and do what they say. I followed my friend from her home to her apartment to her hospital room, and she was served well.

My family decides to keep my mom at Arbor Acres where she has been in independent, and just move her to the next stage. It is nice place where you can move from one level to another. You can stay there until the end of your life. It is a continuing care beginning with small cottages. She is in memory care, but she starts in independent living. When she is in the independent living, she is in an apartment with a kitchenette, a living area, a bedroom, a large closet and a bathroom. Then on each floor, they have a kitchen and a washer & dryer for them to use. Her room now has 2 small bathrooms, a bed and a recliner. It is a fairly large room at this stage. They have activities I think 10 or 11 in the morning until 10 at night. They have 2 nurses on staff all the time. They have a garden area, and gazebo outside.

Arbor Acres is a continuing care retirement community. I have relatives there. It is a very nice place in all aspect. They can provide just about anything you need. One of my relatives is in the nursing home, and one is in the assisted living. The room in the assisted living place has a private room with sitting area and a private bath. The nursing home room has a private room with a bath. The assisted living rooms are spacious. The nursing home rooms are similar to hospital rooms. I have not eaten there, but my relatives are not complaining with the food. They have activities like bingo and arts & crafts. They have gardening. They have grocery and shopping trips. They will bring you to your doctors if you need to go. They go to concerts, and they have concerts on site. I certainly will recommend it.

The staff at Arbor Acres was very friendly and very professional. The rooms were very nice. They had a lot of outings, but other than that, I'm not sure exactly what activities they had there. I would recommend this community to others if they have lots of money. Arbor Acres looked like it was very nicely run. The facility was very, very clean. They have beautiful furnishings and beautiful grounds, but the only thing is that the cost seemed very high. It was a beautiful, well-kept facility. What I like best about it is their cleanliness. It was more like a home or a hotel. It was pretty fancy.

I've known about Arbor Acres ever since it was built 47 years ago under the auspices of the Methodist church. Now that I'm older, it's a little bit farther away from my home, my family and my friends. It is bigger and has longer halls to navigate. Those were the only things I have against it. I did not feel quite as relaxed there because it had a formal atmosphere. I know about the individual continuing care that they give because I've known several people who had lived there. That was what impressed me. It is an excellent facility.

I had lunch with my friend at Arbor Acres and all I can say is that this is a lovely place. I feel that this facility is very welcoming. It is very clean. The room my friend got, she has a living room and a bedroom and this small like hotplate in this alcove.

I had no idea that such a wonderful facility was in existence. The housekeeping staff and their efforts are beyond anything I have seen. The sincerity and friendliness of the employees eases your mind. After struggling with health care decisions, I feel I have found the best answer.

My impression is that residents are well provided for, and staff are very good at their jobs. They have a very lively activity program, which I think is an excellent feature. I have participated, or had my students participate, several times in their musical programs.

Excellent facility. They have the most endearing staff; always going above and beyond for their residents. The menu is equivalent to that of the area country clubs. The grounds are always emaculent and so peaceful.

My parents moved to Arbor Acres in 1994, and could not have been treated better. From the first day, when my siblings and I were moving them into their apartment, they felt at home. The staff is as friendly as can be, while being very professional and helpful. The facilities are very nice -- nicer than any of the homes we lived in as kids, and as the family of a Methodist minister, we lived in some nice homes -- and the grounds are beautiful year 'round. Despite being in the city, the campus is large enough to allow the residents to be in a quiet, relaxed setting... with a nice view of the skyscrapers in the center of town. The dining facilitise are very nice, with excellent (and varied) food. When my folks moved to Arbor Acres, they were still fairly active, and there was plenty for them to do both indoors and out. As time passed, and they became less active, the staff and administrators helped them with day-to-day things and when my mother's health began deteriorating, the staff met with both my parents and my sister, the family contact person, to make sure mom was in the right level of care... all the way to the on-site hospice center, where she peacefully spent her last days.My father is still there, whistling his way down the halls and being treated like a king -- which he deserves, in his 92 year.
