"When we went on tour at Clemmons Village II, they had private rooms and a room for a double. It was organized. The staff was cordial. They do daily activities. They have like movie nights, bingo, and stuff like that, so that seems to be interesting. It's everything that would probably fit my uncle's needs."

"I toured Harmony at Brookberry Farm. It's a relatively new place. It's very clean and well-kept, and I had a good tour. The washer and dryer were nice, and it's in the bathroom, but I would not need a new kitchen. They only give you one meal, so I didn't like that. You have to pay extra. Their bedrooms and living areas were nice. The staff was very nice. They took me to every floor and showed me their exercise room, one-bedrooms, and all that. It was nice. Their dining area was nice too."

"Very Blessed to have such a loving and caring STAFF that truely put the Resident’s First by knowing each one of them and truely loving them. This is just not a job they do. It takes Special Individuals to do this kind of work and each and everyone of them take this to HEART when it comes to their residents the Staff just don’t look at these individuals as residents they are Family. . "I've been to Brighton Gardens of Winston-Salem, and it appeared to be very clean, and the person I was visiting there was getting good care. The food looked very nourishing and fresh, and it was hot. I always ask about how comfortable she is, and she's always been very happy with the care that she was receiving. The dining room was very clean. The setup was good. She was at a table with other people who had basically the same abilities that she did. So there was conversation among the people. I think they pay attention to how they pair people up, so that there could be interaction. The people bringing the lunch to the table always made sure that utensils were there and condiments, and asked if they had everything they needed. I think it's one of the better communities in the area. When I arrive, I usually find a staff member to find out where the person I'm visiting is, if they're in their apartment or perhaps at lunch or the outside area, and they've always been very helpful, no matter what question I've asked. The facility is excellent and very welcoming. I know it's costly, but I think for what they charge, they are in the upper level of care."

"I saw Brookdale Reynolda Road through the eyes of my neighbor. She's 99 years old. There were an awful lot of people who were elderly and who were no longer in their activity level. Most of the people were in wheelchairs, and so I thought it was not a good place for somebody who is in their 60s and just simply wants to be in an environment like that and wants to still be living. These are for people who are done living. So from that point of view, it was a good place for my neighbor. I was shown the facilities, and I was very impressed with them. It's a lovely place. It's a very friendly place. It's very light, sunny and open. The personnel I saw there were smiling. I had a good feeling about the whole place. The lady who interviewed me was more than forthcoming with all the questions that I had. And so, I was just 100% satisfied with what I saw and heard. The staff members were all very friendly and very inviting. I was very impressed with the total interview I had with everybody. Everything was clean and uncluttered. There are big windows everywhere, so they're letting in sunlight. It made me feel good that the area around is green. There are trees outside. It's just a clean and friendly environment. It would be a perfect place for my neighbor."

"I was very impressed with Brookdale Lexington. The memory care rooms were nice. The whole campus was nice and very clean. The people that we spoke to seemed kind and friendly. They were very nice and very knowledgeable. The director showed us around. She was very, very good at answering questions and doing the tours. Overall, it was a good place. I felt that it would be a safe place for my father, too, if we chose that. I felt comfortable there. They have a salon and a couple of gardens that they can go sit in and walk."

"I toured Mary's House Family Care Home. It was wonderful. It's like a home. I was very impressed with the inside. It was clean and very welcoming. I was impressed with the layout of the home. I think there were only two patients, and the staff said they would have up to four. I like this because the fewer patients they have, the better care they can give. Also, it's nearby where I could go and visit. The staff asked me different questions and things. They made me feel very welcome. I felt like everything would go well. The place was fine. Every room was immaculate. I was impressed. I couldn't have asked for anything better. The home was nice. Outside and inside, it was immaculate. It couldn't have been better."

"We went to Brookdale Skeet Club. It was very quiet. We talked to all the residents. They had been there for a long time and were very pleased with the facilities. And just the layout of the whole place was good. The size of the room is large enough for a king-sized bed, chair, and dresser. And maybe a small chest or something, but not more than that. But it's more than adequate for a person. The community felt sort of like it was a home environment."

"I toured Brookdale High Point North Assisted Living. They were very accommodating. The person that we were supposed to meet wasn't there, so someone else had to show us around. They couldn't give us pricing yesterday, but they're going to email that to me. The facility is very nice. They have a lot of activities. It seems like they take care of the patients very well. There were lots of nice things that the patients could do. They have a bistro there. If you need assisted living, I think it's a good community. It's newer and it doesn't need any updating. It looks nice on the inside. It's very pleasant. They have a fish tank with fish in it in the front entryway, which is nice. The rooms are small, but that's just normal for assisted living these days. It was clean and it's not that old. "

"Gardens of Statesville & Cardinal Village had comparable amenities and activities with the other place. We liked the big private dining room for families if you want to have a family get-together. I like the big lobby when you walk into the building with the piano and the entertainment area. They were under renovation, so you had to have a little bit of imagination about what it was going to look like when they got finished, but that didn't bother me. I think Mom would have done fine there, but the other place was less expensive and quicker to get into. They had the same kind of amenities and services that the other place does. And for memory care, they had a separate facility for activities. Their dining area was very good, too."

"We were very impressed with Walnut Ridge Assisted Living. The person who gave us the tour and the other personnel, the executive directors, were just great with us in answering all of our questions. Even though we were not able to place Mom there, they followed up and even gave us suggestions of how we might be able to help Mom more. The facility was very clean and all of the residents seemed to be very cared for."

"The lady that we talked to was very nice. There was a smell, but I think that is probably normal in places like that. They seem to care for the people well, but it was kind of depressing. My husband is the one that we were going for; we were going to look for his mom, and he was not too excited about her staying there. My personal feeling is that she is not to the point where she needs the assisted living there so much, but she is not able to handle independent living as well. "

"My loved one spent two months at the Bermuda Village rehabilitation facility. His room was clean and spacious. The staff was caring and attentive. He was motivated and encouraged to improve (move) by the staff. They made his experience much more than we could have ever hoped for. Although he was very ill they showed compassion and he felt that the staff took his improvement personally. We can’t say enough good things about our experience with Bermuda Village rehabilitation facility."

People can,and do, often make overall judgements over singular/isolated events. In my experience quality truly manifests itself over time. Two thumbs up ! "
