"I took a tour of Arbor Ridge at Kernersville for my father, and the community was really nice. The grounds, the outside, and the inside were well maintained. She showed us the kitchen area, the dining area, and the activities room. They had a hair salon and a barbershop. Everyone was very friendly, and the person who gave us the tour was very thorough. She was really good and very patient, and she took her time to answer our questions. She helped us understand how the process works, and that part was really good. I would feel comfortable putting one of my parents there. It was that nice; I was that pleased."

"We went to Brookdale Skeet Club. It was very quiet. We talked to all the residents. They had been there for a long time and were very pleased with the facilities. And just the layout of the whole place was good. The size of the room is large enough for a king-sized bed, chair, and dresser. And maybe a small chest or something, but not more than that. But it's more than adequate for a person. The community felt sort of like it was a home environment."

"I toured Brookdale High Point North Memory Care. It seemed like a nice facility. The residents were engaged. There were magicians at the time, and they were enjoying that. It looked like they were having a nice activity. The patients there seemed to be well-kept. They didn't seem dirty, unkept, or anything like that. The facility overall seemed clean and bright. It seemed like they were well staffed, too. Everybody was very polite. It seemed like a nice facility, but they did not have what my mother needs. The parking space seemed fine. The place wasn't dark and dingy. The patients were out there and participating. They seemed happy. The staff seemed happy, too. The staff who toured us was very, very nice."

"I toured Brookdale High Point North Assisted Living. They were very accommodating. The person that we were supposed to meet wasn't there, so someone else had to show us around. They couldn't give us pricing yesterday, but they're going to email that to me. The facility is very nice. They have a lot of activities. It seems like they take care of the patients very well. There were lots of nice things that the patients could do. They have a bistro there. If you need assisted living, I think it's a good community. It's newer and it doesn't need any updating. It looks nice on the inside. It's very pleasant. They have a fish tank with fish in it in the front entryway, which is nice. The rooms are small, but that's just normal for assisted living these days. It was clean and it's not that old. "

"I visited Solista High Point by Cogir. I was very impressed with the gentleman and the lady that I talked to, and I liked it a lot. She brought me a menu to look at, but I didn't eat there. It looked clean. I did not see an apartment. It might be because it's out of my price range. I didn't meet any of the staff, except for those two people who helped me with the tour, but overall, everybody looked clean and happy."

"The staff at Brookdale High Point was nice. Their facility was nice, too. It would be my second choice. They had a model room set-up, which helped me visualize how my mother would be situated in one of the rooms. They showed me everything. They were extremely helpful and nice, and they've already called me this morning. The dining area was spacious and nice, too. However, the facility could use some updating. They have a beauty salon, but they didn't have anybody to work in it."

"I went through the assisted living at Brookdale Northwest Greensboro. I felt very well taken care of. I think it was a busier facility than the other place, but there were plenty of people that were sitting in groups chitchatting, and going down the halls. Some people spoke to us. The staff knew them by name. I liked the fact that they feel roomy inside. It's not like you put a single bed and a dresser in there and that's all you get. You have a living space as well as a bedroom. It was very well-maintained and clean. The staff was great. The meals in the dining room looked great."

"My Father was in their Assisted Living unit. Our family was very happy with the care he received. The Med Techs and Aides were very responsive and caring. Whenever Dad pushed his call button staff came quickly. The management was great with their communication and was very accessible. My Das has been in 2 other Assisted Living facilities before we moved him to Heritage Greens. It definitely is so much better than the other 2 he was in."

"Spring Arbor of Greensboro was very active. Some folks were gathered in different areas visiting, talking, or whatever. I liked the circular layout of the buildings, not just the assisted living, but also in memory care. Upkeep and maintenance were excellent. They have different types of rooms. The staff was very knowledgeable and very helpful."

"We went up and toured Brighton Gardens of Winston-Salem. We liked it. We were very, very pleased with what we saw in the facility. The gentleman said it was an older building, but it looked modern and everything in it was nice. It is as well as we expected or maybe better. We saw a room or two and they were all clean and nice. The staff who assisted us was great. He was good. Everybody was friendly. We have no qualms about our visit to Brighton Gardens. It was nice."

"I toured Carolina Estates yesterday. I liked how happy and well-pleased the people were. I sat down with two gentlemen and a lady during dinner, and naturally, I asked them questions about how they felt about the place, and I didn't get one negative review. They had a seafood bowl yesterday, and it was delicious. The staff who gave the tour was very informative, very nice, and polite. I also looked at the people who were on the ground floor, and I liked the way they did their landscaping. They had little sculptures in their yard. My only complaint was their parking. I use the aid of a walking cane, and I had to park almost at the back, which meant I had to walk to the front. They had a workout room, and they had a physical therapist. If you don't want to go down the buffet line, they would come to your table and take your order as if you were in a restaurant."

"Very Blessed to have such a loving and caring STAFF that truely put the Resident’s First by knowing each one of them and truely loving them. This is just not a job they do. It takes Special Individuals to do this kind of work and each and everyone of them take this to HEART when it comes to their residents the Staff just don’t look at these individuals as residents they are Family. . "I've toured Arbor Ridge at Stanleyville and I think this would be my choice. I was very impressed with it. My choice would have been the 1-bedroom because I liked the size of it. I liked all of the activities that they provide, and I liked the fact that there's someone 24/7 in case there's an emergency. It was very clean and decorated beautifully. The staff that took me on the tour and the one in the office when we came in were both very nice, very helpful, and very informative. I saw the library, the game room, the movie theater, a beauty salon, the dining room, and a lounge room for relaxing. There's also an area that the family could use for gatherings. I went to one area where the residents were playing bingo."

"My parents and my aunt moved into Harmony at Greensboro. I liked the broad range of activities regardless of the person's physical capabilities; they're very inclusive of everyone. They have a very nice dining menu with lots of options, so the resident doesn't feel like they're locked into just the special of the day. They have lots of other everyday options. The staff has been very caring, responsive, and loving with the residents. It's a new facility that's less than five years old. The facilities are super clean, nice, spacious, and airy. They have a lot of outdoor space for those who can get outdoors. The food is very good. It's better than expected for that type of environment."

"I toured Holiday Forsyth Court. What I like the most is they have three different sizes of apartments. So they're going to meet your needs, however you need them. If you want an efficiency size, they got it. If you need a larger size like I need, they got it, and it's very nice. They have a full kitchen or just a refrigerator, not an oven or stove. I still like to cook and bake. So I would want a full kitchen, which you still don't have to use, you can go to their dining room and eat because it's included in your fee. All of them are filled with refrigerators and some of them are even supplied with washers and dryers. They have a garden area where you can go out and sit and have a nice area, a gazebo area, to just go out and visit and stuff. There is a small area where you can have garden plants where you work together with the others who want to come out and plant some stuff too, you can plant flowers if you want. They do have daytime health care provided that's on staff. It's included in your cost of living there. It's just a nurse coming in. They come I think to your dorm or your apartment once a month. They make sure you don't have any problems with your meds and such and if you have a problem, somebody just checks you out or any little things you might just want or have a question for. They do have that there at Forsyth. The staff was great."

"I saw Brookdale Reynolda Road through the eyes of my neighbor. She's 99 years old. There were an awful lot of people who were elderly and who were no longer in their activity level. Most of the people were in wheelchairs, and so I thought it was not a good place for somebody who is in their 60s and just simply wants to be in an environment like that and wants to still be living. These are for people who are done living. So from that point of view, it was a good place for my neighbor. I was shown the facilities, and I was very impressed with them. It's a lovely place. It's a very friendly place. It's very light, sunny and open. The personnel I saw there were smiling. I had a good feeling about the whole place. The lady who interviewed me was more than forthcoming with all the questions that I had. And so, I was just 100% satisfied with what I saw and heard. The staff members were all very friendly and very inviting. I was very impressed with the total interview I had with everybody. Everything was clean and uncluttered. There are big windows everywhere, so they're letting in sunlight. It made me feel good that the area around is green. There are trees outside. It's just a clean and friendly environment. It would be a perfect place for my neighbor."

"We were very impressed with Walnut Ridge Assisted Living. The person who gave us the tour and the other personnel, the executive directors, were just great with us in answering all of our questions. Even though we were not able to place Mom there, they followed up and even gave us suggestions of how we might be able to help Mom more. The facility was very clean and all of the residents seemed to be very cared for."

"The staff was fabulous and my tour experience has been awesome. They keep the residents engaged, when I was there they had music playing and the residents were sitting in the common area. They had a beautiful courtyard, and my parents' potential studio apartment overlooks the courtyard, which I loved. The staff seems to truly care about the people. I had a really good feeling that's why I went ahead and registered them and paid for a month. In the future, when it gets to the point that I need to move my mom, I'll look at them again. It's an older place than where my parents are now, it's not fancy, but we're not looking for fancy."
