"My husband is having home health care, OT and PT from Kindred at Home. I think they started the first week of March. I have been very pleased with them. They come in twice a week for each service, are always on time, and do what they say they do. The LPN comes twice a week and changes the bandages on my husband's wound. He has a neuropathy and a wound on his heels, so she has been changing that. She has also instructed me on how to change that on the day that she's not there. They're very caring. They have set goals for my husband. They also told me what he can and can't do."

"About a year ago we had someone from Care South for my sister who was in an assisted living facility. It was not a good experience. She had a spot on her that had been irritated -- very red and inflamed. I took her to the doctor who was very concerned and said she needed to have a wound specialist come to treat it until it was better. They were supposed to provide wound care, but they spent most of their time signing me up for the whole program. Sometimes they didn’t come in when they said they would. One time, they came to my house when it was clear the patient was not here because she was at the assisted living home. One of the people that came in was not very friendly at all. I was very disappointed in them. I used them for a two- to three-month period, but I finally just dismissed them. "

"While searching for a home care agency for my ailing father I came across Total Care . My father didnt need any drastic care only help with routine day to day care. Total Care initially said that they would send over an aide at 8am until noon. On the first day the aid didnt show up until after 930. The aid was not to blame however it seems her manager in order to cut back on staffing hours had decided to shave back on employee hours but bill the insurance companies for the full 4 hours. Also the staff was poorly trained and often attempted to reuse disposable medical items. When questioned about the reuse of disposables the office manager informed me that it was a standard practice and all agencies do the same thing. Total Care has apparently been the focus of several OSHA complaints and investigations. Luckily we were able to find another Home Care agency for my father before any serious damage was done. Total Care does not provide the most basic of competent Senior Home care. Even after all the violations and fraud Total care continues to operate. "

"We are using Amedisys Home Health Care. The nurses came for four weeks, but right now, they don't see the need for them to come. Right now, we are just having the physical therapists and the occupational therapists. They felt like the nurses didn't need to come unless we need them. But if we need them, we call them, and they will come. The nurses checked my husband's health, his medication, his blood pressure, and his heart. Basically, they're checking to see how his physical health is. The nurses that came here had been very nice and very helpful. They had been wonderful to us. We had been delightfully happy with them, and they were very friendly. My husband has improved greatly from what they had done for him. The occupational therapist and physical therapist come once a week. It depends on who's available because they're seeing a lot of different patients. Our doctor is the one that ordered this. They call us usually the night before to let us know when they're coming, so it works out really well. I would recommend them. I think they're fantastic. It comes through the doctor because they're covered with Medicare."
