"We placed our client in Spring Arbor. My daughter went with me. She has actually worked in a continuing care community and she knew more questions to ask. She liked the facility doctor, the unit, and the fact that all the staff were actively working. They had a good ratio too. Its family owned as opposed to a business sort of thing. It’s all in one community, but it depends on what your desires are for end of life care. They won’t take someone who is extremely aggressive. Spring Arbor had a really good memory care unit. It’s more home-like looking. When we first took her to Spring Arbors, she thought she was in a resort. There were a lot of things that were really impressive about Spring Arbors. They have a little café place, a library, and more community rooms of varying sizes. If the resident doesn’t want to be in their room in a shared room, there’s a place outside in the hall that they can sit and read if they want to. If they don't have a phone in their room, there is place they can sit and make a phone call outside of their room. Personally, one more thing that strikes me is I like the molding going down on the side of the hall. They had actually used something like trim work. It’s still smooth to the touch, but more rigid and easier to hang on to. I can use it for assistance to move down the hall. They’re just very thoughtful in a lot of things that they have done. They had nice outdoor areas too. "

"We chose Brighton Gardens of Winston-Salem because it was closer to my parent's previous address. Mom moved there. Overall, the staff is caring. They have good food choices. They have a few activities, but it's mostly kind of sitting and listening. It's nice. It's clean overall for the most part, and it's spacious enough. They have a courtyard, a salon, and a small library. They have a nice dining area and TV room."

"My mom is now at Harmony at Greensboro. It's pretty much brand spanking new. The thing I liked about it was it's very close to my home, so it's easier to go and visit my mom. The thing that impressed me the most was the man who took us on the tour. He stopped and communicated with every resident we came across. He knew them by first name, and they knew him. He seemed like he truly did care, and that was important to me. I was very impressed with the staff and how they interacted with the people who live there. The bedroom was spacious, it's a good-sized bedroom. My mom has a queen-sized bed and two dressers, and everything fits perfectly. Each residence has its own washer and dryer, and that was nice. Other places have shared facilities or they come and do your laundry for you. They have transportation to shopping and to medical appointments. They have a lot of social activities. The dining area was very nice. With Covid, the tables are spaced pretty far apart. It was clean. It looked very well lit, and there were a lot of windows. I didn't get to taste the food, but it sure smells good. One of the reasons we chose this place is that it has three levels, so people can age in place. My mom went into independent living, but we have the option to move her up to assisted living, and then memory care if we need to. The staff has been pleasant to work with."

"I visited Brookdale for my father. It seemed like an ideal place. It seemed very clean. The furnishings were very nice. The rooms were spacious. They had a nice music room. The staff seemed very pleasant. This facility was very nice, and very clean. There were spacious private areas for the people. "

"Walnut Ridge Assisted Living is beautiful and very clean. It is a place I would like to go if I was ready to go. They do have activities and everybody looks very happy. "

"I went to Brookdale Lawndale Park. The staff seemed very friendly and good. There wasn't security in the assisted living. The doors were open at all times. That was one thing we weren't sure about, but the staff said if they go to memory care, they're more secure. They have a salon and activities for the residents, and they will take my parents to the doctor, but we would have to meet them there. They had a courtyard and a library. There are some restaurants close by."

"They're doing a good job at Mallard Ridge. The facility is nice. The room is spacious and adequate for the patient. They give excellent and adequate care to my brother. The cleanliness and friendliness of the caregivers stands out. "

"We had a very negative feeling when we first walked into Harmony at Brookberry Farm. The lady giving the tour acted like she didn't care that we were there. The facility was fine, it was new, and it was pleasant, but unfortunately, her attitude kind of colored our attitude. As far as the menu, they only serve one meal a day and they seem to have a nice selection. The apartments were nice, they're a good size, and everything was nice and clean. The one thing I did not like is that the hallways in that place are very, very long. The layout was not good in my opinion. I just can't get past the young lady's attitude. The facility itself is nice except for the hallways."

"My mom has been a resident for over 5 years and our family has had relatives for over 20 years at Clemmons Village. They have received excellent care with kindness and understanding shown by the staff. An excellent facility. "

This one is convenient, and it has a lower price. I'm very thankful that she is in this facility and the price is reasonable."

"My mom will move into Priddy Manor Assisted Living. When we walked in, it felt comfortable. It felt kind of like you're going home. Everybody seemed friendly and clean. It seemed like a nice facility. The apartments are very nice. The person who assisted me was very nice. I like her. She was very thorough. She showed us all the amenities there. The dining area was nice-looking. They have everything. They have concerts come in, they have church twice on Sunday, and they have several things in the game room. Anything that you want to do, they have. I couldn't go and name every little activity, but it's enough to keep them busy if they choose to. The staff who assisted me was very good and very friendly. The place was spotless. Some places I've been in over the years had an odor and this one had nothing."

"I went to Mary's House Family Care Home. I like it, but they don't have a place for my brother. I liked it being closer to my house. It was clean and very nice. The patients they had there were up walking around on their own. They could have a conversation with you. My brother is not able to walk on his own and he is in a wheelchair all the time. It was a nice place, just that it's not what he needed. The staff I met were very dedicated and knowledgeable. The facility was newer than where he is. People seemed very happy to be there. They were content there."
