"I toured Creekside Terrace. I liked everything about that place. I fell in love with it because of the patios. I probably would not be able to afford the one that I want. They, too, have 3 or 4 different sizes of apartments, so from the efficiency up to I think two bedrooms also. The one bedroom that I found that I wanted was gorgeous. They do have a craft room, but I have a lot of crafts, so I need the room to keep my craft. It would have a section for me and just have my craft area. That particular apartment has a space right off the parking lot. My family or visitors wouldn't even have to go through the one main door. They could come just straight near my door, and the patio was huge. They all are nice, but this one's huge. I would have plenty of space for sitting down and enjoying the sun. I'm a veteran and I would love to have a service dog. I would like to have a pet. There, I can have that. So that would be another thing I liked about them, and the staff was just great. I mean, they make you feel like family."

"We had a wonderful tour at Holiday Forsyth Court. We also had a question-and-answer session, either during the tour or right after it. They have completely renovated all the apartments, all the amenities, the dining room, and everything. It did not look like the same place, although it was pretty when I saw it before. We toured a room on the third floor. The fellow that lived there had moved to a smaller place, so it was being cleaned, and they had to take the carpet up. It was perfect size-wise. They were going to put in some hardwood floors, so I was very pleased. I've been there twice now, and I love it. We met the chef. He came over and spoke to us. We also met the lady at the front desk. I think they were very nice and welcoming. Three meals are provided. They also have snacks provided twice a day. There are lots of little events and activities."

"I had a good visit at Arbor Ridge at Stanleyville. I met a couple of the residents and talked to the manager for a long time. It's a good community and the manager was helpful. The size of the rooms were the largest I have seen, and it was clean. The rooms were more like apartments than just rooms. The dining area was good, although it was smaller than I expected. But the overall community is very big and big enough for the people that are there. They have two shifts for meals to accommodate everybody. They had a lot of things for the residents, like scheduled days off where you could sign up for trips to leave the community to go to the store or whatever. They had music, arts and crafts, and an exercise room. People can have their own cars there. The place was large enough for people to walk in and isolated enough to be peaceful and quiet."

"Harmony at Brookberry Farm was only two years old. The facility was very beautiful and clean. Everything was spotless. We looked at a studio apartment, and it's just too small for me. And then we looked at the one-bedroom apartment, and I can't tell much in square footage. One of them has two closets, and one of them has three, but the third one is smaller than the other two. But there's plenty of space in there to store things. They've got a step-in shower, so you don't have to worry about falling in the tub."

"Pennybyrn is a Methodist or Presbyterian home. They were just wonderful there, and they also have skilled nursing. It was well done, well appointed, and the staff was excellent. The rooms were adequate, but not as good as the other places I toured. We saw the menus, we saw the dining room, and it was very nice. The menus were excellent. We saw some activities going on, people playing bingo, and putting puzzles together."

"I'm supposed to move into Providence Place Westchester Village. I like the general manager there. She was very energetic, and she's a pastor. I was very enthused about going because everybody was doing stuff. I could take my work with me because I work at home anyway, but if I don't, I think I'll have plenty to do there. The rooms were very large, and compared to everybody else, they were better priced. The room they showed me was beautiful. It had hardwood floors. The one I looked at has two bedrooms and a living room, which includes a room for a dining table. It had lots of closets and a kitchen with appliances. The staff I met were very friendly and upbeat. They were very good. They were super and very nice. The place was very clean, I was impressed."

"We preferred River Landing, but our family is in another area. It is a smaller facility so it's more like a small town and friendlier. The staff and the personnel are more friendly. The staff who assisted us were wonderful. It's very secure for the various levels of care. I would recommend this to others. "

"My wife was in Friends Homes before she passed away, and I liked the place very much. However, they didn't have covered parking, which is the only thing I didn't like about them. The people are very nice, and you can move into independent living and move up to full care. They have everything in terms of amenities, and the food was very good. The workers are also pretty good."

"I have been fortunate to have lived at WhiteStone for 12 years. Moving from our home to the retirement community took a big leap of faith, but I am so glad we did it. It has freed my children from any concern about my health or safety, and I have all of the services and amenities I could possibly want. "I've been living in Piedmont Crossing for quite a few years now. I do not need medical care, but I do get my meals. There is a clinic here with a doctor two, or three times a week. They provide transportation when I need it. I live in a two-bedroom, two-bath house. The community is very small. It's in a country area. The meals are fine. Breakfast is usually good. Everything in the room is all mine. I'm very satisfied. I do not have a kitchen. I have a refrigerator and a microwave. I do exercise. We have a chaplain, bingo, and games. It's very expensive."

"My mom just moved to the skilled nursing part of Well-Spring, A Life Plan Community. Before that, she was in assisted living. It's a five-star facility with wonderful staff. It's beautiful and they serve wonderful food. They do a whole lot of activities. They have bingo, music, trivia games, ice cream socials every week, cookies and tea days a couple of times a week, happy hour with red and white wine once a week, movie days where they have popcorn, bridge playing, walks, and outside trips to grocery stores on their own shuttle bus. They also have a theater at the facility where you can come to watch performances such as Broadway series, a pool for water aerobics, Zumba, and other exercise classes."

"I visited The Carillon. The staff was great, answered my questions, and did not act like they were upset that I came in without an appointment. The rooms were great. They had individual apartments that were small. I'd have to get rid of a lot of stuff before I could down-size to that. They had a fitness center, exercise classes, and all kinds of crafts. Everybody seemed to have a good time and enjoyed living there. However, there was not a lot of storage. "
