My mother has been in River Landing at Sandy Ridge. The staff and personnel there go above and beyond, including everybody from therapists, nutritionists, and the nurses. They have exceptional CNAs. They just go above and beyond trying to find ways to accommodate my mother. They try to make her situation better and find ways to engage her. She is paralyzed on her left side, but her mind is still mostly there. She had a major stroke, so they try to accommodate her in every way possible. They let all their residents participate in activities that they want to take part in. They have outings, too. It's a fantastic place. When you have family and friends come in, they try to accommodate in every way possible, as far as meeting places or celebration areas. It's just a wonderful, wonderful place. My mother was in a private room, which was set up very nicely. We were able to bring stuff in to make it more homey-looking. They had personnel that came and hung pictures where we wanted them. They moved TVs on the walls where we wanted them and things like that. They tried to make everything as homey and comfortable as possible. She has a hospital bed. The room was big enough for Hoyer lift to come in to be able to transport her from the bed to the chair and all of these things that are required for her care. Now she is in a shared room, which is very nice as well. They have the same accommodation there, too. They even have a TV wall mount, so the TV could be turned wherever her wheelchair is and accommodate whatever her needs are. It's an exceptional place. A lot of the food is not seasoned because most of the patients that are in that section have restrictions with salt and that type of thing. They have two restaurants that you can go and get food when you're visiting. You could bring some food to your loved one as well. It's not seasoned like home, but they still go above and beyond. They serve high quality food. They have an outstanding activities director and assistant person. The nurses and CNAs also plan activities on weekends when the actual activities director is not there. The whole staff is just amazing. It's a very, very expensive place. There are other facilities where my mother could go for a couple thousand dollars less, but I know it would not meet any of those five-star markings that River Landing at Sandy Ridge does. Even though it's more expensive, it's well worth it.

River Landing at Sandy Ridge was fabulous. It was clean. The staff was wonderful. There were five or six residents that opened their homes to us. Everybody loved it there. They only had wonderful things to say about it. They were very glad they moved there and they wished they had moved there sooner. It is welcoming. I met five different couples who just love it there. The food that we had for lunch was good. The whole community is beautiful the way it's laid out. They have all the activities that I'm interested in, and they even have a nine-hole golf course right there. They have a swimming pool and organized activities.

I visited River Landing at Sandy Ridge to see a friend of my wife's. It's a very nice facility. There were a lot of choices in dining, like restaurants, a cafeteria style, and sit down formal dining. There's a huge fitness center (just as good as a gym and even better), an indoor swimming pool, and a nine hole golf course. There's adequate space between apartments and my wife's friend enjoys it there. Her apartment was well-designed and well laid out. She got a backyard, so there's good privacy. It's very comfortable. The staff seemed pretty polite.

I toured River Landing at Sandy Ridge. I like the attitude of the people that were there, both the residents and the staff. They were so positive in their attitude. The staff were very cordial and knowledgeable. We tried the food. It was very good and very tasty. They have an art room, have a music program, and have a workshop. It was very accessible to the interstate.

I did a tour of River Landing at Sandy Ridge. I didn't find anything wrong with it. The tour was fun; I saw all of the apartments because that was all I thought I could afford. This is a continuing care community. It was the first place I visited. It's very nice. There's not a thing in the world you can say that's wrong with it, unless it's too expensive for you. It's expensive, but the question is, how much do you want to spend to get into that situation? It was just average. I wasn't particularly struck that it was great or not so great, small or not so small. I had determined going in that an apartment was probably not what I wanted in a congregant living setting. It's very well run. It's Presbyterian. They have every amenity you can think of, and it sits on a wonderful golf course if you're interested in golf. It has a brand-new indoor sports center with a swimming pool, pickleball, sports, and everything you can think of. They have three or four restaurants within the facility. You're given a meal ticket, and you just go where you want, whenever you want. The staff was excellent. It's very luxurious and very professional.

River Landing is a Presbyterian church-owned facility. They have what we call the big house where all the apartments are. My sister lived in a villa. They have those big houses, which are for independent living. She and her husband are renting their own villa with their own garage. They go to the main building's dining room for their meals. If they want to they've got a kitchen in their villa. They have their car, and they can just come and go. It's called continuing care. If they reach the stage where they can't get around, they'll move into the apartment in the main building where they will be able to have the kind of accommodation they need. I've had many meals with them, and it's lovely. It's fantastic. They have a wonderful chef, and he comes out and talks to everybody every now and then asking what you like or what you don't like. I stayed with my sister for about two weeks. I went to exercise class with her, and the exercise classes have an instructor who leads the class. They also have a room where you can just go in if you want to just ride the bicycle or use equipment. Then they also have a big, big, room where they have all the exercise classes. It's very wonderful. It's just like you were living in your own home. It's just that you have access if something happens and you fall immediately, they'll come and pick you up.

River Landing at Sandy Ridge is excellent. It's a very active community. The people are very friendly, and there are a lot of things to do. They have a wellness center, inside walk-in tracks, lot of equipment to work out on, and even if it's COVID, we have art, and a lot of Bridge going on every day. We have a 9-hole golf course here, which I love. There are just lots of activities. The staff is excellent. They all know your name when you come in and they call you by your last name, which is very nice. The food's really excellent as well. They have four restaurants here, so you have a lot of different things you can go to. They also got a salon and a lot of classes, like yoga. Whatever you want is here. They also have internal medicine clinic just down the hallway.

I'm moving into River Landing At Sandy Ridge. It has all different levels of living, independent, assisted, and long-term care. The staff is very professional, the rooms are very clean, and gonna meet my needs. The food is almost gourmet, it's 3 meals a day, and your choice of 5 different restaurants. They have a pool, a golf course, a gym, and 2 licensed physical therapists. Everything is inside.

River Landing At Sandy Ridge is a Presbyterian retirement community. I was very impressed by everything that they had. It was a very high-class, elaborate, luxurious place. I was thrilled, but it was out of my parents’ price range. We looked at the physical therapy room, which was not as good as the one in the other facility we looked at, but they did have a wonderful pool. Everything was so beautiful and plush. They had a hallway and a couple of corridors loaded with pictures from the residents. They had a bookstore and a beauty parlor and one of the most gorgeous-looking pools. It was one of the most fabulous retirement places I have ever seen. The food was gourmet. They have wonderful activities. I was in one of the Wednesday morning church services that had a very powerful message that lots of people attended in walkers and wheelchairs. The place was absolutely packed with people. I like the fact that they had skilled nursing connected with the assisted living and independent living. All of those hallways are connected, so it wasn’t like the skilled nursing was in a separate building. However, they didn’t have a large enough room for physical therapy, and I don’t think there was a whole lot of staff for the physical therapy, so that concerned us.

My father-in-law was in River Landing for 4 years before he passed away. The staff is caring, and very outstanding. The food there was fine. He was in a private room, and it’s very clean. I have no complaints for 4 years that he was there.

We preferred River Landing, but our family is in another area. It is a smaller facility so it's more like a small town and friendlier. The staff and the personnel are more friendly. The staff who assisted us were wonderful. It's very secure for the various levels of care. I would recommend this to others.

Since it has opened, I learned that this facility has been on the top of its game getting five out of five stars in most categories and, from what I seen, it does not seem to be slowing down. The outside looks beautiful and very well placed. I would have made it a little bigger for the patients to have more area to walk but that's me. The inside looks beautiful. It is your typical "regal" style looking assisted living facility. Very nice furniture with all the amenities. The one great thing is that this place sits on 150 acres that has a golf course nearby so golf fanatics, go at it. Some of the patients tell me the food is great, especially a Vietnam vet you said it reminded him of trench food....which I do not think it was that bad. I think he was picking around with me. There were games being played and plenty of activities going on daily. I would make this one of your first stops.
