"I toured Arbor Ridge at Kernersville. The only thing I don't like about their facilities is that they don't have a full kitchen in each room. They were a little small beside the furniture that I have, but other than that, the people are very nice, and the lady who showed me around was excellent. I loved her. The washer and dryer are at the end of each building. I'd like to have a balcony or a porch of my own, but they don't have that. It was spotless, and there's no doubt in my mind that if that's all I needed or if I needed help, it was there, but I don't feel that it's right for me."

"The rooms I wanted to see were the Studio and the 1 bedroom. I could work with the Studio but I loved the 1 bedroom without the balcony. We stayed for lunch and the food was very good and the 3 meals a day are included. I met with Michele who showed us around and answered my questions and met several employees who were all very friendly and explained several of the activities. I believe I would be very happy there."

"I've toured Arbor Ridge at Stanleyville and I think this would be my choice. I was very impressed with it. My choice would have been the 1-bedroom because I liked the size of it. I liked all of the activities that they provide, and I liked the fact that there's someone 24/7 in case there's an emergency. It was very clean and decorated beautifully. The staff that took me on the tour and the one in the office when we came in were both very nice, very helpful, and very informative. I saw the library, the game room, the movie theater, a beauty salon, the dining room, and a lounge room for relaxing. There's also an area that the family could use for gatherings. I went to one area where the residents were playing bingo."

"I toured Holiday Forsyth Court. What I like the most is they have three different sizes of apartments. So they're going to meet your needs, however you need them. If you want an efficiency size, they got it. If you need a larger size like I need, they got it, and it's very nice. They have a full kitchen or just a refrigerator, not an oven or stove. I still like to cook and bake. So I would want a full kitchen, which you still don't have to use, you can go to their dining room and eat because it's included in your fee. All of them are filled with refrigerators and some of them are even supplied with washers and dryers. They have a garden area where you can go out and sit and have a nice area, a gazebo area, to just go out and visit and stuff. There is a small area where you can have garden plants where you work together with the others who want to come out and plant some stuff too, you can plant flowers if you want. They do have daytime health care provided that's on staff. It's included in your cost of living there. It's just a nurse coming in. They come I think to your dorm or your apartment once a month. They make sure you don't have any problems with your meds and such and if you have a problem, somebody just checks you out or any little things you might just want or have a question for. They do have that there at Forsyth. The staff was great."

"My friend moved into Creekside Terrace. The facility is beautiful, functional, and adequate. The staff is amazing. Every single one of them is so caring, helpful, and understanding, and has an understanding of what needs to happen. So, I'm impressed. Three meals are included. I've eaten there a few times, and the food is good. It's decent and tasty. It's not gourmet, but it's really quite good. It's a studio, so it's small, but we are working to maximize the use of the space there. It's adequate. I wish it were a little bit bigger, but it's OK. It's updated, it's painted, and it has new carpet. Everything is clean. It's perfect. It's just a little small. They have a lot of activities. I haven't participated in any of them except listening to some music, but they have stuff going on all the time."

"We have lived in a beautiful 2-bedroom apartment at Whitestone and we could not have found a better place to be. We have up all of issues related to home maintenance, HOA dues, taxes, and utilities and gained peace of mind. We have so many friends now and have never enjoyed so much activity in our lives. "My father has moved into Abbotswood at Irving Park. They have common areas that the residents typically hang out in. He has a private room. We met the head nurse, and we really felt comfortable with what they had to offer. The interaction with the staff is very good. They're very responsive. Whenever we visit him, which is always without notice to them, we've never seen anything that was out of the ordinary or something that we would frown upon. Everything is good. They have rooms where they do activities. They bring specialists in that would work on different motor skills. Sometimes they would go on outings in the community, maybe to a fast-food restaurant or something like that."

"I toured The Carillon. It was nice. They were very welcoming. The rooms were small, but she said they were all the same size. They just arrange them differently. Some areas in the room are bigger than others, but it was nice. I just didn't like the idea of not having a dining room and having to be in Greensboro. Jen was helpful, answered all my questions, was friendly, and gave me a great tour. Everything was great. I have no complaints whatsoever."

"My mother stayed at Friends Homes. It was a great place. They were very kind. The staff got to know my mom until the end. I knew there was a problem, and I called to have a welfare check. I called the nurse that we had been working with, and she didn't go check on my mom. As it turned out, my mom had fallen. She couldn't get up, but she waited until she heard other people in the hall going to dinner. She just yelled until somebody responded, so I don't know how long she was on the ground. She then went to the hospital and we discovered that she most likely had lung cancer. And I think that's not their fault at all. But other than that, the staff was fabulous. My mom said she didn't have to cook the food, so it was great for her. My mom was a difficult person, but she was reasonably happy there, which for her was probably as happy as she had been anywhere. Every other staff member was phenomenal. The facility was very nice. It's a very well-established home. They have anything that you could want. They had fabulous activities. The price was very reasonable for what she got."

"I toured Well-Spring Retirement Community. It has everything you could want for all levels, and it is a large facility that would allow me to walk get my steps and get in shape. It has a gym. It has a swimming pool. It's hard to beat that. It was very clean. The cafeteria was very nice. It was very pleasant. Everybody there was pleasant and was very willing to talk and give me all the information I wanted."

"I gave a deposit at Pennybyrn, but when I decided that I wasn't going to move there, no problem, they gave me my money back. The whole facility is beautiful. They call it a campus. People who enjoy gardening have a beautiful area where they grow all kinds of vegetables. They also have walking areas for your dog. Their rooms are very nice. Kathy and Joe, who lived two doors down from me here, moved into Pennybyrn last year. They have a two-bedroom, and their space is almost as big as their house when they were living here. It's really nice. I could live in Pennybyrn. If someone came in and pushed the magic button and got all of the stuff out of my house that's not serving much purpose now, and told me to go pick one of these, I would do it quickly and pick Pennybyrn. I have tried their food, and it's like eating in a five-star restaurant. The people there are helpful, kind, and patient. The dining area is very nice. There are many tablecloths and napkins. There are people walking around to refill your coffee cup or water, or what. It's like an upscale restaurant."

"River Landing at Sandy Ridge is very expensive. It's not a new place. It has been around forever. What I like best about them is the location and the facilities, and they go on trips, but you have to have a lot of money to live there. However, you can be there until the Good Lord comes to get you because they have all of those facilities. If you get to where you need someone to come and wash your face, you don't have to pack up and move somewhere to get that service. They have everything. They have swimming pools, tennis courts, and walking trails. It's beautiful. From the way it looks, it's well-kept. You can live in an apartment or a cottage. They have cottages and apartment-style units. You have a choice, and it depends on where you want to put your money. The food was good at the time that I had eaten there. My friend invites me over to have lunch with her often, usually for our birthday, Mother's Day, or something, and I have not had a bad meal with her. The staff is very nice and very polite. Some people have traditions like happy people produce happy service."
