My father has been in Carolina Estates for a while now. I like the facility itself. They have activities to keep the residents engaged. They have activities on campus, and they have field trips arranged from time to time. There's the convenience of a shuttle if they have to run errands, and that's helpful as well. The manager lives onsite, and they have a healthcare professional that's onsite as well. The staff has been very helpful and friendly. They have meals onsite three times a day, so he doesn't have to worry about that. I have not had a chance to try their food, but he enjoys it, and he does not miss a meal. I think the price is reasonable. They have a courtyard area but it's not a whole lot.

We toured the Carolina Estates. I liked where it was. I loved the apartment that the staff had showed me. The thing that I liked least was the fact that there were older people. The young man that I talked to was very nice and very helpful. He kept in touch. The only thing there that disturbed me was that I don't think he had been there very long and had not been totally trained on what was going on because he had somebody from the home office there who took over his job and did all the talking. At one point I was about to make a deposit on the apartment, because I really liked it, and he came back and gave me a price of what the deposit would be and I said, "OK." He had to call back and said that his boss said, "No, that wasn't right." It was like four times that much and I just said, "No, you don't know what you're doing." I don't like that. I am sure it was not his fault. I think when he gets trained, he'll be fine. The cleanliness and the structure of the building were nice. There's one thing that I did not like, I'm not a dog person. We were going down the hall to the apartment that I was going to look at, and there was a little yappy dog that barked. It would drive me insane if that person was next door to me, I would go out of my mind. The one that I really liked was a good size for a one-bedroom. It was quite large.

I toured Carolina Estates. I was very pleased. I was warmly welcomed in. They were so friendly. I enjoyed the whole tour and I'm impressed with the way they do things. They're very caring and can't think of anything wrong. The set up of the parking is my problem and that was my only complaint. They provided three meals a day. I looked at the one-bedroom but I like the two-bedroom.

Carolina Estates had a lot of options for my great-aunt. They had a lot of support. Everybody seemed very caring and just willing to help. I also met several people after the meeting with them and they expressed that they liked the place. The staff who assisted me during the tour was very helpful. She was willing to help me with finances and things of that sort. The facility seemed fairly good. The dining area was pretty decorated and it was nice. Everyone seemed happy. Everyone was very open and just very nice.

The person that toured us around Carolina Estates was excellent. Their follow-up with me before and after was also excellent. They have a large cafeteria dining room when you first walk in and certain gathering areas off of that. The actual room that we toured was a studio and it seemed very small for the price. After my father toured that place, he said that it had a nursing home feel. They provide meals, but one of the drawbacks is that you do not have a kitchen in the unit. They had activities. They sponsor weekly and they also have activities you could sign up to go off-site. Their largest amenity was their meals on site and they have a van that would take people places.

Everybody at Carolina Estates was very friendly. I've talked to some of the residents there, and they are very pleased with the service that they receive daily. Everything works for them very well, which I think is a very important thing to hear from those who live there. The apartments were small, but that's because my husband and I looked at a one-bedroom only. They have really nice and very fun activities. Everybody was just so nice and friendly. The residents were all satisfied. It's pretty outside.

My brother now lives in Carolina Estates. Our experience has been very good so far. The overall condition of the place is excellent. The cleanliness is very good. They provide meals, and those are very good, too. It's very nice. The food is good. He never complained about that. The staff are very kind and very friendly. They offer a lot of activities, and they have some spaces in their facility too, with movies, books and games, and things like that. There's a little chapel, there's a hairdresser inside the facility, and they offer transportation to and from the grocery store, drug store, and things like that.

Carolina Estates was a very nice and very clean community. The staff showed a great deal of interest in having me come to live there. They had a nicely staffed library. The dining facility was very nice. The food appeared to be very good. It had a walking trail. The area looked very comfortable.

Carolina Estates was really beautiful, open, and airy. It didn't have a nursing home-type feel. They have a lot of activities. They can be as involved or not involved. They had a small kitchenette and refrigerator. You can bring a small microwave. There were snacks always available downstairs. They could use the kitchen down there, if they wanted to. The person who gave the tour was really knowledgeable and helpful.

Carolina Estates was more modernized compared to other places I saw in terms of the building. It's in a nice location. I saw several people in the community rooms, people were active and playing cards. They had a beauty salon and a TV, but there was no kitchen at all, so you had to use the meal plans. They were very expensive, they were the most expensive out of all the places I've toured. They gave me soup, and it was OK, it wasn't bland to me.

We like the people at Carolina Estates and we know people that live there. It's just outdated. They only have independent living there. They didn't have central air and heating. They had those wall vents. The staff members were wonderful and they remain onsite, so they know the people well. The community was good, but the whole facility needs updating. They had some nice activities. The people and the general setup were just great. You can't go to assisted living; you can only be there if you're independent. They gave us some food to try since we couldn't eat there. My friend has gone over there to eat because his grandma was there. You can eat any of their meals and they will bring it up to your room if you need it. We like them.

I will be moving into Carolina Estates. I like the size of it, the looks of it, especially the shape of it. I know that sounds odd. It's not your typical square room. It's got more shape to it and it makes it look bigger. The best part was it has its own little patio. I get a nice, huge window, plus a door to the patio that's glass, and it has a screened door to it. If I just want to open the door and let air in at any time, I can. It's on the third floor, which I really like. It's just very efficient for me. I don't want a lot of space anymore. The looks of it is what sold me immediately. Their staff is wonderful and extremely genuine. I had been to one other place, and I really wasn't impressed with the salesperson at all. It was almost like you knew she was a salesperson, and you didn't feel that at all with Carolina Estates. I haven't lived there yet, but it's nice and roomy. It has a very nice library, which is important to me. The only thing I really found odd about it was the main rooms, like the dining room and the sitting rooms looked dated. When I was talking with the salesperson, we said something about that. I loved the apartment, but the rest of it sort of looked dated. It wasn't built long ago, and I was really shocked. She said they had a reason for doing that. Once she told me the reason, it made a heck of a lot more sense. The reason was that the people that are moving in there are older and their tastes are different from younger people today, and they were actually trying to make them feel more comfortable with that setting for an older person. It all made sense when she said it. When I first walked in, I was disappointed, but when I saw the apartment, that's all it took. This is where I'm having to live day in and day out and I will surely enjoy it. They sent me home with two desserts and they were very good, but I did not have an actual meal there.

Carolina Estates was where my mom had been living in for the last three years, and it is only independent living. We really like that community. She was there for three years. It's been a good experience. The staff was friendly. The food was good. They had some good amenities. They got a salon on the premises, and they change and wash your sheets and towels. However, we're anticipating she's going to need assisted living relatively soon. The room was pretty big. She was in a one-bedroom apartment on the top floor, so she had vaulted ceilings and a nice balcony, and the bedroom was good sized. When my mom first moved in, they had a lot of field trips, they would go to vineyards, they would go to the shopping mall and to the museums. They had activity field trips, and then they also had transportation to shopping and to doctor's appointments for the residents. They had 24/7 ice cream machine and every week they had someone come in and do general cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, and that kind of thing. The food was for old people. I know a lot of them can't eat spicy food, but it just seemed kind of bland a couple of times that I ate there. It was overall nutritious, and the old folks seemed to like it. The facility was very well kept. For one of the amenities, they have a garden out back that the residents are gardening, and that was kind of cool. They are getting back to doing activities. They have exercise classes every morning. They have games and crafts and things like that, so they keep some people busy. Value for money is good.

Carolina Estates was nice. I saw a 1-bedroom, it was OK, fine for one person. The dining area was nice and the place was clean. They need to improve on the food. They have a patio, you have a door to go out to in the back. It was well lit, from what I saw, it was clean, and well maintained. It was cheaper than the other place, but not much difference.

Carolina Estates was wonderful. They contacted me about a wellness luncheon they were having. They have been keeping in touch with me. It's on top of my list. I got to see a studio apartment. They gave me a lot of time and explained everything very well. I was very impressed with the units and the whole ambience of the place. It's very cozy and warm. The director was very good. They sent me home with some sweets, which were very good.

Management not sincere with residents. Only interested in getting people to move in. Food is usually good-- mostly. Changes in rules seem inconsistent at best. New management needed for sure!!

My parents moved into Carolina Estates. I love it, and the workers are fantastic. The food is not consistently good, Ive had some dried-out meat, but the dining area is wonderful. If youre looking for independent living, that would be the place to go.

The staff at Carolina Estates was extremely helpful and informative. They showed me one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments. They were probably more spacious than any place I saw. They provided three meals, housecleaning, and bed linens change. I think everything is included in the price, and their price is reasonable. There is an activity coordinator there, and they have activities going on in the community, but they also do things outside. They also provide transportation to the grocery store at least once a week, doctor's visits, and they take them to events. Carolina Estates is a nice community.

We had been to Carolina Estates, not for a tour, but we have friends that live there, and we went and visited. We really just went into the living area, but it was very nice. They’ve managed to get an apartment on the first floor because they were some of the first residents, so they had a very nice location where their apartment was. I know they do have a library, but my friend was talking about going to some crafts and things. The dining area was lovely.

My sister moved into Carolina Estates three years ago and was there for only four months. It was very, very nice, and the food was really good. They have a formal dining room and a chef. You can get a separate bedroom of your own with a living area and a nice bathroom. I know they took trips to various places, but aside from that, I didn’t see any other activities because my sister didn’t participate in them. The place was very nice, but there just wasn’t enough care for her. She needed an assisted living facility.

My mother is currently in Carolina Estates. The thing that we like a whole lot is the fact that the price is inclusive of the rental of the studio apartment, her three meals a day, and the activities. They have a little salon and a little chapel. The apartments are great. Her studio apartment has a nice living area, a kitchenette, and a great large bathroom. It has worked out nicely. Generally, it is very good. She is pleased.

Mom is currently at Carolina Estates, and she likes it. It is a relatively new facility, but our concern is that if she should need more care, then we will have to move. I would definitely rate them above average. I would recommend them.

Both my in-laws are in Carolina Estates. It is one of the places that are near my family. My in-laws seem to enjoy it. It is a very clean place. The residents are very engaged in activities. They have events going on all the time, plus they provide transportation out into the community. Everything has been positive so far. My in-laws are in a one-bedroom apartment. It is more like an efficiency. Their meals are provided. Other services they have here have been very good. What stands out to me about this community is the friendliness of the people.

Carolina Estates was awesome. It was like a 5-star hotel. It was independent living. It was lovely, and they had in-home health care with an office right on the premises. It was very good. If the place where my mom's in now won't come up with a room in a month, I would take her out of there. Carolina Estate had 12 nice apartments available. They had all kinds of activities. They had bridge. I took my mom over there for lunch, and the food was incredible. They had live-in managers and chefs, and all the dishes were like homemade and very tasty. The people were wonderful and great. I liked the people there. They were spot on. They were animal friendly. The only thing that scared me was that it was kind of big. It had 110 independent rooms.

My mother-in-law is in Carolina Estates. It is clean and cheerful. It has energetic managers that run it who really know that they are going to have to give that atmosphere to the place and they work really hard to do that. There's a good team of people that's running it. They are super friendly. They know them and they know what they want. They have good days and bad days when it comes to food. They have bingos and card games. They have music where people come and sing. They have a social room where people share photos of their family and every can come and see the photos. They also take them out on tours in their bus in national science and parks. They take them to doctor's appointment.

Carolina Estates is nothing like I have ever seen before except for one other place. The great thing about this center there are no long term buy-ins and the rent is month to month. How great is that? The staff was courteous and knowledgeable and quick to answer any questions I had. Even the patients were helpful and nice! The building, both inside and outside are filled with elegant furniture and the courtyard is something to behold. The gardener is to be commended for his work, that's for sure. There is personal care, assisted living care and there is someone always present to help you when you need it and I think that is huge when it comes to picking a facility for a loved one. This is definitely a top-of-the-line location that should be thought about when picking a long or short term facility.
