"Cambridge Village of Apex is very nice, and the only person I met with was the saleslady; she was delightful. The grounds and location are good. It provides multiple levels of care, the units we looked at seemed very attractive, and the dining facility looked good. They have a swimming pool, workout facilities, and many amenities, and they provide transportation to local places for shopping. "

"Woodland Terrace Woodland Terrace was beautiful. They had assisted living, independent housing, and also an Alzheimer's unit. It's large and clean. It was nice inside and kept up nicely. It felt like an apartment complex. They had a dining room, an exercise room, a library, meeting places, and ample parking."

"My aunt was in Stoneridge Gracious Retirement Living. They were absolutely fantastic, and I hate that they didn't have one down here. It's just a few years old. The staff is phenomenal. They do bingo, and they do movie night, so I think they've quite a few, a decent amount. They're extremely responsive and caring. It's one of the most cost effective places around. There's a 3% increase in the rent."

"I had an in-person tour of Jordan Oaks. I like the location and the cost. I liked the services included for that cost. I like the cleanliness and friendliness of the people there. We saw some residents doing a puzzle. They showed me a one-bedroom and a studio. They looked great. I think the one-bedroom would be perfect for my dad. We saw an exercise room, a movie room, a dining room, an activity room, and a laundry room. They pointed out that they have a barbershop and beauty salon in the facility. We looked at the menu, and the offerings looked very good."

"When you get an apartment in the independent living section of Abbotswood at Stonehenge, and then it gets to a point when you need assistance, you can stay in the same apartment and the assistance will just come to you, and that's a beautiful deal. However, it may take quite a long time to get the apartment because the people are in line to get the kind of apartment we want, and they are not available at the moment. During our tour, we were treated very well and we also liked the outside feature and its location since it's mostly accessible for our children and relatives. The person we talked to was very informative. Three meals are included and the dining area was spacious with natural light. They have a nice library and a lady salon too."

"Whispering Pines Gracious Retirement Living was a great place. The staff was awesome, gave us a great tour, and served us lunch. It was a great experience. The place was kept up really well, clean, and smelled nice. The staff brought us to a room occupied by a gentleman. It was a handicap-accessible room, but it wasn't homey looking and it had a little bit of a pee smell to it. They should have shown us a nicer room because first impression is important. Other than that, everything was nice. I saw some ladies getting their hair done, and I know they do activities like card games."

"Holiday Cedar Ridge was nice. It looked clean. The room looked nice. They're going to redo it. The lady who took me was also really nice, helpful, and answered all my questions. They had a hearing aid thing going on right there for senior citizens so they could test different hearing aids and stuff like that. They had a church. I didn't check all the amenities because my dad was limited in what he could do."

"My apartment is GREAT. Plenty of room for living and working. The food plentiful and tasty with great desserts. Now the social life. I met and married my current wife who I met here. How is that for a social life. The is something to do every day. Exercise in the morning"

"Azalea Estates Gracious Retirement Living was a very pleasant and light place. It's only for independent living, and the apartments were small, but they have a lot of public places where you can spend time at. There's a TV room, a movie theater, and some places to sit, read or write. They have a very nice kitchen that you can sign up to use for baking. The staff seemed very friendly and nice. The price per month includes three meals daily, so it's rather expensive, but their meals were very good."

"Cedars is by far more expensive than other places, but everything in Chapel Hill is more expensive. They have some very nice grounds and places to walk. You have to own the unit. Cedars is near Meadowmont, which is really nice and has a theater, nice grocery stores, and a lot of things nearby, so you don't have to drive anywhere. It's a very convenient community."

"Carol Woods is one of the oldest places in our area. I've had nothing but pleasant times when I was there visiting people for several different reasons. It is a community where it seems like there is a lot of interaction among the people who live there. They have lots and lots of activities. I've only eaten there one time, and it was good. The sanitation is very good too. I've visited people in their health units where they actually could not stand up anymore, and I was impressed with the cleanliness of that area. The staff seemed to be very pleasant and helpful people. "

"My friend is in Carolina Spring Senior Apartments. They have income-based apartments. They are very responsive and very caring people. The apartment is very nice and very well maintained. They have activities. They have an exercise room, a large screen TV room, and a gathering room. They have bingo nights. Every single resident there that we talked to was very friendly and happy with the place, which was a very good sign. They also have a vehicle or a bus that will take you to the grocery store. There is free transportation from Chapel Hill to there. In other words, there's some kind of a free bus line, and they have free transportation, which is very nice. They have community people that come in and bring a whole bunch of food; it is some kind of a food drive. They don't have meals prepared there. It is a nice low-income housing place, and water is included. Every floor has a laundry room, which is coin operated."

"Overture Chapel Hill has a lot of activities almost every day, they have something all the time that's going on. It's about five floors, have three elevators there, a little community area, a swimming pool and they have a barbecue grill. As far as activity and things like that, their community room was a little smaller than the other places. They have different types of rooms, different layouts, and floor plans you can choose from. I like it very much. I toured different ones and this one is a little bit smaller than other places, it's more laid back."
