Our Mom was cared for with love. Life can be so hard sometimes, we are grateful for all here. Facility was clean. Staff professional and kind.

My mother was at AuthoraCare in Burlington recently. It was a horrible experience. Of the 4 days she was there, she was in terrible pain 2 of those days. The nurse was rude, uncaring and condescending. No bedside manner. I finally had to order her out of my mother’s room and request another nurse, who was wonderful. If you value your loved one, take him/her somewhere else.

The nurses, social workers and chaplain from AuthoraCare Hospice were very caring and competent. They helped me throughout the process of taking care of my husband during his end of life process.

The people in Hospice and Palliative Care Of Greensboro were wonderful, and I couldn't ask for better care for someone in my mother's condition. Every person we met from hospice bent over backwards trying to help not just my mother, but the whole family. They had nursing care that came in and checked on her as needed. They also had aides who came in to fulfill her needs, like bathing, counseling for the family and so forth. Everything was wonderful. I would highly recommend them to anyone with the same needs.

This hospice is AWFUL. I am in healthcare myself and had several people close to me pass from cancer, my father included. I dealt with hospice for a very long time and hospice and palliative care is near and dear to my heart. Our experience with this particular business has been the worst ever. The nurse assigned to my father in law has been rude and condescending from the start. She has no compassion and every time a family member asks a question, the answer is "well he is dying, that won't do any good". They say iv fluid is a service they provide, but refuse to give him any. The nurse was scheduled to come by Monday and was a no show no call. Talking to management to complain was useless. We have had to go back to the hospital just to get him fluids to stay hydrated and we are currently being assigned to a different hospice service. Unless you want someone writes your family off as dead long before they are gone, DO NOT use these people.

After walking what seemed to be a country mile to the building (the parking lot was simply packed), I got to the building and noticed the grounds in front of the building were not kept up at all. There were flower beds that were completely messed up and rock beds that were strewn everywhere. I walked in the door and asked the receptionist to speak to someone for a tour. I noticed that behind the receptionist there was a glass window that seemed to have a courtyard behind it. It actually looked very nice. After waiting a good 15 minutes, I finally had someone come out and see me and take me to a "counseling" room to speak with me on why I was there. I told her that I was interested in touring the grounds and we spoke for about 10 minutes on what the facility was about. Afterwards the meeting was over and I was shown the door. I was never allowed to see the facility but the only thing I noticed was silence. I cannot say if this was a good thing or a bad thing.
