"I was very impressed. Everything was excellent there. They had a lot of activities for the residents. They took the residents out several times a week. The only problem that I would have would be the distance from home and the traffic in getting there. "

"My husband's parents previously lived at Bailey's Glen in Cornelius. The residents at Bailey's Glen are very active and it's a smaller community of retirees. The smaller size of the community provides more attention by staff and employees. Also, some of the residents are in their mid to late 50's, and have plenty of energy. Bailey's Glen accepts residents beginning at age 55, which is unusual for a retirement community since most begin accepting residents at 65+. Living quarters are either apartments (some have patios) or cottages. The community itself has lots of land "“ over 100 acres. Homes and apartments are nicely designed with sufficient space, rooms and appliances. Food is tasty with good variety on the menus. After much consideration, my in-laws decided to move to a retirement community in Charlotte itself, not Cornelius. This happened after my sister-in-law was relocated to downtown Charlotte for a new job. My in-laws are now living closer to their children and grandkids. We can happily recommend Bailey's Glen. It was a positive experience during the time my in-laws stayed there. "

"My mom is staying at Williams Place Gracious Retirement Living. You live on your own in your apartment, but they have meals. I like the location as well as the people there. It is just a nice environment. You have to bring in extra help if you want it. She has a great apartment. It is a one-bedroom apartment that is overlooking the lake, which is nice. The facility itself is very nice. It is fairly new and it has only been around for three years. They have lots of different things to do both inside and outside. They do a ton of stuff every day."

"We toured The Pines and we liked it. We liked what they did with the care and how they did it. You had a choice of a room, an apartment, a condo and a cabin. I liked the private room where you could bring your friends in. They had everything. We were familiar with the area. It was very modern and clean. "

"GraceView Homes is the only one I'm interested in. I like the concept of it being a small facility. To me, that leaves more one-on-one time for each resident. They do not let the residents just sleep in bed all day long, which I was very glad to hear. I was glad to hear that they offer home-cooked meals of some of their favorite meals. There were just a lot of positive vibes from the whole situation and knowing that it's owned by a local pharmacist. The dining area was fine. It was right in the kitchen. I was in the common area, and the couches and chairs there were very dirty. But the rest of the place looks clean. The kitchen was clean. The driveway needs to be fixed big time. It's nothing but a washed-out gully. I have a tiny sports car, and I don't even think I would be able to get my car through that gully without doing some underneath damage. All of the staff members were just as nice, friendly, helpful, and informative as they could be."

"Symphony Park - Luxury Independent Senior Living Resort is top of the line. There isn't anything that I didn't like about it. It is nice. The staff is a very diverse group. The place is immaculate. The atmosphere of it was like a breath of fresh air. It was nice. The rooms were a little larger than most. It felt spacious. They have two restaurants in that building, and they were nice and top-of-the-line."

"Trinity Village is under construction right now. They're building new apartments. There are no services, so it's kind of like independent living. The person who showed us around was very good. There were some residents living there. It looked like it would be very, very nice. However, there were no services, so I kind of crossed it out. They were adding more stability bars and chairs in the showers. It wasn't completed, but it looked very nice. The apartments looked very nice, too. The staff was very good at showing us around. She spent a lot of time with me."

"My parents have moved into The Glens. Everyone there including staff and residents have been helpful, kind and very friendly. The units are clean, bright and perfectly laid out. It is wonderful to feel my parents are in a safe caring environment. "

"Kingston is a wonderful option for senior living. The rooms are apartment style and are very nice, the staff are attentive and kind, and the residents seem genuinely happy. Their dining room area is large, and they have hostesses that come take your order- there are a lot of food choices! They are one of the few assisted living communities that I know of that offer 24 hour nurses. It is a really lovely building. "

"What I liked about Brooke Pointe Manor Apartments was that it's very secure. You can't just walk in. You have to have a code to get in. I also liked that it's very affordable. The lady that showed me the apartment, Beth, was very nice and very knowledgeable. She showed me the one that I would get if I qualified for it. It's a one-bedroom and one bath unit with a living room and kitchen. They have a laundry facility, a community room on each floor with a TV (if you want to get together with people to watch a movie or something), as well as hookups in each apartment for your own washer-dryer if you don't want to use the laundry facility. It's very clean. They have a nice area in the lobby where you can visit if you don't want to go up to your apartment."

"My in-laws moved into Bermuda Village. They've got two restaurants, they've got one on the floor where they live, and they've got one downstairs. Both are very spacious, both very nice, and with tablecloths. The in-laws say the food is horrible. There are planned activities, but they have not participated yet."

"My mom lives in an apartment at Woodland, based on my income so I pay a low rent. I pay a lady to help take care of her. The apartment has a small kitchen, a living room, a bathroom and a bedroom. It's an energy-efficient apartment. She gets meals-on-wheels 5 times, 5 days a week. She may cook a little as long as the lady that takes care of her is there to assist her. The residents also have a once a month potluck dinner. Everybody brings a dish and goes to that. They also have an exercise room and they play bingo and the like. They have a daily devotion every once or 2 days a week. I'm really pleased with Woodland Manor. This was the most affordable one that I looked into in North Carolina. "

"I was a resident of Rose Glen Village. I know all the employees there personally. They are great. They have always been nice to me. They're very good people. I love the staff. When the epidemic started, they followed every protocol there was. They still got the virus in there, but it didn't spread. They got it under control really quick. They had great food. They have a menu and you have a choice of what you want. Their food was excellent; they had great cooks. I didn't do much activity with them. When there was no epidemic, they would take people on the bus to different places. They have a workout room and they have someone to work with the people in the workout room. They have a great activity director. They have stairs up to the second floor, but they also have elevators. They do your laundry for linens and they will do all your laundry for a price. They're cheaper than others, and their apartments are nice in size. I like them."

"I have just moved to Rose Glen Village the day before yesterday, and so far it's been great. I have a really good and big enough apartment. The staff is really special since I've known a lot of them for a long time. The food is really good so far and there are a lot of things to do. So far I don't have any complaints about anything. It's the cheapest place I could find."
